These are some pretty big assertions. Ichigo in canon didn't really have the time or inclination to learn kido - there's no reason to believe that he can't learn it in different circumstances. He's not stupid. Also, we wouldn't be offered the option if it were impossible to make progress in these things.

I don't really see much point to focusing on Hado, since Ichigo's got destruction pretty well covered once he learns Getsuga Tenshou (assuming his Zanpakuto isn't wildly different).
