Winter is Coming: House Stark Quest

[X] Your kinswoman already rejected Rickon as her heir, but your claim to Harrenhal is strong and you could take it after her death.

Harrenhal if rebuilt (possibly to a less ambitious scale) is a pretty good place for the capital in my opinion. Lots of fertile land, river system for trade, etc.

This may seem insane but fuck it. Harrenhal and King's Landing are the only two locations worth while and both need to be rebuilt. Dragonstone is too small and distant, Winterfell is far away and just makes it clear that the North now dominates the Seven Kingdoms and Storm's End would just make an already awkward situation that much worse.

We're king, we have resources that previous lords of Harrenhal have never had. We could rebuild it into a Fortress worthy of a king and it is far better located than King's Landing.

I'd be fine with that if it wasn't for the potential curse on the place. Although to be fair, King's Landing probably isn't much better in the curse department.

Nice and central. Lets turn it into a city and build a canal to link Gods Eye Lake and the Trident.

[X] King's Landing will take time to rebuild, but it has served as the heart of the Seven Kingdoms for three centuries. You will move your court there in time, and until then rule Westeros from somewhere else.

Half of the population still lives, so the city is salvageable. Besides, Harrenhal is a cursed ruin. Don't need that shit fucking with our dice!

It's always better to have a coastal capital IMO. King's Landing was a good location and rebuilding it is better for the economy long term.

Ruling from anywhere else would be breaking the precedent of kings ruling from the Crownlands, and we just voted to try securing our legitimacy by sticking to tradition. It'd be really weird to vote for anything else.

We can rebuild it!

[x] Write-In: King's Landing will take time to rebuild, but it has served as the heart of the Seven Kingdoms for three centuries. You will move your court there in time, and until then rule Westeros from the great castle Harrenhal — Lady Whent will nominally remain Lady of Harrenhal and full control of the castle will return to her (or her heirs) when it's time to move the court back to King's Landing. Additionally, until King's Landing is inhabitable once more, Harrenhal and all its lands will be considered part of the Crownlands. Also assure Lady Florent and the Stormlords that that Lady Shireen Baratheon is to rule the Seven Kingdoms along you, for the title of Queen Consort does not befit the woman who is to become the Lady Paramount of the Stormlands.

Maybe some of the previous voters will be satisfied with trying to seduce a ghost that lives there? *ducks* But oterwise, rebuilding Kings Landing is so passe, why not rebuild Harrenhal into StarkTown?

Also maaannn Walder Frey must be creaming his pants in joy at having a "token of esteem" from a the now king and having his grandaughter be the new king's goodsister. At some point said grandkid totally needs to be fostered somewhere not the Twins

Technically Harrenhal would be closer to the center of the realm, but coasts are better for trade and Blackwater Bay is very defensible.

Rickon also seems to be the heir to Winterfell now.

Since Bran's apparently been skipped over for the Wardenship of the North, maybe we should give him something else. Dragonstone? A rebuilt Moat Cailin? One of the Iron Isles after Balon and his Ironmen inevitably rebel and we put them down? He would be useful to have as a spymaster if he can develop his green sight w/o Bloodraven?

Hey @Charcolt, will Robb (and the other Stark kids) get the chance to develop the warging ability, and Bran his greenseeing?

Edit:
But...but...It worked for Panama...
Oh, right. We need remember to build a canal from the Blue Fork to the Ironman's bay after we put down the Greyjoys. And have enough cash to spend on it. The Lords of the Riverlands, the Isle and the North should also pay since it will greatly improve their economy.
