Hyrule Encyclopedia is a new book similar to Hyrule Historia. It hasn't been officially released in English yet, but we've got some new info summaries on the first few pages of the following thread.
Timeline and other interesting tidbits in Hyrule Encyclopedia - Zelda Universe Forums

Here's the summary about how Majora's Mask is Link's Awakening 2.0.
Ok, so this is pretty wired. I didn't pay attention when I first read it. It could be treated either as a retcon or just an elaboration of what "parallel world" means in this particular game. Really need help here, especially the second page.

So, apparently, Termina is a world created by Skull Kid using the power of Majora's Mask based on his own memories and wishful thinking/imagination (a la Koholint Island), hence the similarities between Hyrule and Termina. The Gaints, also created by the mask, are the representations of the spirits that Skull Kid had a deep connection with, but left.

The dawn of the new day is pretty much a reflection on Skull Kid's mental state when he accepted that people can still be friends even if they are far apart. Since Skull Kid is now happy and the mask is rid of all evil power, the moment Link leaves Termina the land ceases to exist.

Also, it seems that Skull Kid learned Saria's Song directly from Saria, and the origin of the mask is still not specified (could be from Hyrule, at least not from Termina).

Also, here's an interesting reveal about the relationship between Kokiri and Koroks.
The reason Kokiris look so much like Hylians is because they were Hylians. Some Hylians lived in the forest so far away from towns and cities that eventually they developed their own culture and somehow evolved into Kokiris (WTH) by the time of OoT. They won't actually die the instant they leave the forest; it's something the Old Deku Tree came up to protect them.

[...]

Regarding the Kokiri, the whole "you die if you exit" the forest wasn't entirely true, it says that the Deku Tree can't exert its power outside the forest so the Kokiri would age outside the forest. But with the revival of the Forest Sage and the birth of the Child Deku Tree they are able to come on the outside as if freed from the cage the Lost Woods was.

[X] You're a horrible liar, a good teacher, and a great friend.

I love it. Short, sweet, and to the point. Also probably the vote that's most likely to get a hilarious/adorable reaction out of her.

Maybe but this could imply a connection to the hero

Still, wouldn't expect it or any religion based on it to desecrate goddess temples in either case.

Well keep in mind the original source of the Fierce diety Mask was Majora''s Mask which raises all sorts of questions, so it is not 100% that this is a hero incarnation.

And in game the description is

Could this mask's dark powers be as bad as Majora?

In-game description

And well time changes all sorts of inages. We know Zelda is nothing like worshipped mythical Zelda who is some sort of child messiah struck down before her time, and there was only an 8 year gap for that.

[X] You're a horrible liar, a good teacher, and a great friend.

"Well..." You begin, leaning against the tree and looking up at the night sky.

"You're a good teacher by the sound of things, a great friend...."

"Link I..." Came Sheik's soft voice from the other side of the tree, followed by a gasp as she realized something.

"And an absolutely terrible liar,' You say with a grin.

Sheik rushes out in front of you frantically waving her arms as she tried desperately to think of some way to salvage the situation "N-No no no no, I-I meant Zelda, not me! I... I mean I'm really touched you would say such nice things about me but-"

She pauses, before glaring at you. "HEY! What do you mean I'm a terrible liar?!"

You give her a flat look.

Her anger melts into nervousness "I-I mean w-why w-would you think I ever lied to you?"

Your expression doesn't change.

"Come on, I-I don't have anything to hide!"

Still keeping the same expression.

"STOP! STOP GIVING ME THAT LOOK!"

You don't.

"LINK WHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!?"

You are uncompromising.

Sheik slumps forward, utterly defeated.

"F-fine.... I... I'll properly introduce myself. You.... you deserve that much."

Sheik stands up straight, closing her eyes and bringing up a hand to her chest. Her braid seemed to come undone, golden hair flowing in the gentle night breeze, looking like it was made of starlight in the gentle glow of the moon even though you knew it was covered in dust from the road and she hadn't had time to fix her braid. Her eyes opened, glowing rubies set into flawlessly carved marble. A commanding presence settled on her, one that naturally drew the eye regardless of anything else around her. The change in demeanor was so sudden, so immediate, that suddenly you didn't feel like you were standing in front of your dorky friend. Suddenly, a small part of your brain thought that maybe there was a merit to those beliefs people had...

"I am Princess Zelda Saria Ilia Hyrule, Chosen of the Goddesses and sole heir to the throne of Hyrule." She says, spoken so softly it was barely above a whisper yet her voice carried with all the power of a mighty river.

"And a complete dork." You helpfully aid.

The illusion breaks, Zelda puffing out her cheeks as they turn crimson. "I- I AM NOT A DORK!!" She shouts, stamping her feet.

You shrug, "Fine, just a terrible liar then."

She grabs you by your tunic and starts shaking you, shouting. "STOP SAYING I'M A TERRIBLE LIAR! I-IMPA SAID I'M A GOOD ACTRESS! IT... YOU MUST HAVE RECOGNIZED ME FROM WHEN YOU LIVED IN THE CASTLE!!"

"Or you blurted out your name when we first met."

She freezes, staring up at you with wide eyes as you grin.

++++
"I'm sorry okay!" You say to the bundle of misery that was currently smacking her forehead against the tree bark repeatedly.

She doesn't stop.

"I mean the accent was what tipped me off at first..."

"They said I had a great fake accent..." Came the emotionless response, the headbutting pausing for a moment then resuming.

"But hey! No one else noticed you only took the last syllable for Sheikah off your fake name!"

"I thought you didn't notice. I thought it was brilliant and fooled everybody," Zelda again said without a hint of emotion, before resuming hitting her head against the tree.

Desperate you rack your brain for something to help, before you snap your fingers. You got it!

"Well, no one other than me figured it out! See, only your friends know you well enough-"

"The Yiga assassin figured it out from me just talking to him once."

.......

"Uh well.... at least this is proof you're nothing like how those people in there view you as!!" You add with a nervous laugh.

The headbutting picks up pace.

You are really bad at this.

"A-are you going to continue doing that all night?"

"Yes."

Well, this will go nowhere fast.

With all other options extinguished you think back to your childhood, and how you handled your friend you barely remember from back then. Hmm... yes, yes that will work.

You sneak up behind Zelda and poke her in her unwounded side, right between her ribs.

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-?!" She shrieks, before she whirls around and jams two fingers into your ribs.

"GAAAH!!"

"W-WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?" She yells, holding her side, her ears beet red.

"To get your attention- Ow ow ow, why would you use both hands?!"

"IT WAS REFLEXES YOU JERK!"

Reflexes nothing, the only other person who did that was... hmmm....

"Well, it got you to stop feeling so down, didn't it?" You ask, a cocky grin sitting comfortably on your face.

She stops glaring at you, blinking. Then a faint smile touched her scarred lips. "Yeah... I guess it kinda did. Heh..."

She sighs, sitting down next to the tree, her back leaning against it. You follow suit, sitting beside her.

"So..." She begins.

"So." You answer back.

"You have a ton of questions for me, don't you?" Zelda asks, looking over to you.

"Well..."

She shakes her head, a small grin on her face. "No, it's alright. Feel free to ask. It'll be nice to talk openly with a friend for once."

Wow... I wanted adorkable, I GOT Adorkable (With a capital A)

[Blank] What exactly were you doing that had you run into a Yiga assassin in the first place?

Either this or something more casual like

[Blank Example] So... How are you holding up so far?

Edit: Made Blank Example into an actual question

So... what, forgotten childhood friend or something?
She grabs you by your tunic and starts shaking you, shouting. "STOP SAYING I'M A TERRIBLE LIAR! I-IMPA SAID I'M A GOOD ACTRESS! IT... YOU MUST HAVE RECOGNIZED ME FROM WHEN YOU LIVED IN THE CASTLE!!"
Yep.
What exactly were you doing that had you run into a Yiga assassin in the first place?
I'm not too sure about giving her mood-whiplash again. That entire situation was probably traumatic of sorts. Also, she's on her period.

...

This also means I have no idea what to ask and shall henceforth let other people do the things because I cannot into plans.
She did tell you this already, she talked to a helpful traveler who told her to go to a certain part of the woods alone.
Oh, I've must have missed that in the quotes. Huh.

[X] What's your favorite color?

We need to subtly educate Zelda on friendship activities to facilitate her research.

[X] Uhhhhh...... What's your favorite color?
[X] How are you holding up so far?
[X] So, any plans for the future? Like, what you want out of life?

I think in the short term she already said she wanted to see the world. And she likes being a teacher. That seems to be what she wants.

As for questions to ask Zelda...

[] So I guess you're the girl I used to know?

Well, Link was wondering...

[] Ask about her time with the Shiekah.

I'm not sure what else. Maybe how she's kept her identity hidden all these years.

I think some extra silly questions would be good
Like can you really control nature?
Can you really tame wild animals with nothing but a glance?
Can you really shoot moonbeams from your eyes?

"STOP SAYING I'M A TERRIBLE LIAR! I-IMPA SAID I'M A GOOD ACTRESS!

She is an amazing actress. Her princess persona is spot on perfect when she can maintain it.

Reflexes nothing, the only other person who did that was... hmmm....

@ImmortalsBlade: Which other person from Link's past is is he referring to here? Name please? Or is it someone we don't actually remember?

[X] Uhhhhh...... What's your favorite color?
