They may have indirect usage but calling them military projects might as well be calling everything military projects.

hexgates alone are a delivery system that could drop payloads at any location of the world and it would take just a create filled with explosives

The antigrav lift for crates in canon was reporpused as a railgun to take dowm noxian landing ships

The zapper wich is a tool is quickly turned into a zap gun with some tweaking

The concept of "highly dense energy source" is just "explosive" with extra steps

"Magic regulator" is "mass recruit and training of mages"

Any impact tool is a meele weapon

There is tech that just needs some minor tweaks to be weaponized and hextech is that

you dont bring nuclear energy into the world and hope people dont make nukes

Damn, Seraphina is a lot flirtier with Jinx than she was last time. Then again, there has been a timeskip with the mage laws reforms and all since then. Also:

"It was only a decade," Jayce answered weakly. "He said we should just take a decade to keep refining our work."
It's kinda funny, because as stogey as Hemidinger can seem, S2 shows that he is actually correct; waiting a decade would have revealed the Anomaly.

"We're a bit past theoreticals now, Viktor." Jayce sighed and shook his head. "Food, water, and transportation might have military uses, but they're not immediately weaponizable technology. The Atlas Gauntlets and your Hexclaw are a lot closer to that line. If we show these off, we're all but announcing that Hextech can be weaponized at a moment's notice. How long do you think it'll be before someone asks us to cross that line? I won't become a merchant of death selling off Hextech weapons to the highest bidder."

"Hextech's weaponization is inevitable," Viktor said, as calmly as if he were discussing the weather and ignoring the outraged look on Jayce's face. "Whenever someone invents a new technology it is only a matter of time before someone tries to turn it into a weapon of war. We can hardly put the genie back into the bottle at this point."
Hmm, feels like a bit of a role reversal from canon. Viktor has always been one to push ahead for technology but he's never wanted the militarization of it before (or been so carefree about the idea of it). Wonder what changed that?

As much as weaponization of it is bad, Viktor is right that the genie is out of the bottle. Also, let's not force him to speak on stage if he doesn't want to and is dying and all.

Jayce probably getting the lions share of credit for Hexgates, Jinx completing two personal projects with life improving quality. The stand out wealth generation and Civilian Industry tech applications have been cornered without him making his mark, so he's tricked Jayce into letting him build more easily weaponized Hextech to try and stand out, but he's getting cold feet now the moment is at hand.

So I been wondering just how much was Zaun changed when compared to canon Arcane?

Is Silco actualy supportive of such improvments if he dont know it Sevika was taken down by Jinx not by Benzo?

And how much are countering his influence in Zaun? Or how much we learned from Shimmer Research Action?

I disagree about the whole trying to build more "Easily Weaponised Hextech" but since Jinx and Jayce have been focused on big structural projects it seems logical that he wants to expand on the side of portable Hextech devices, especially now that the stabilized Hexgems have been standard for years...

Hey, Jinx had to help Caitlyn to soundproof her room and build a special access/exit on her window to help with her hookups...

Caitling has always been kind of a wild girl...

I've been assuming Viktor's roll would be less an issue roll than a Fortitude save not to cough up blood on stage, but yeah, he can sit this one out.
Edit: Actually, that would probably at least spur Jayce and Jinx to look more closely at his health. Hmmm...

Viktor should be remembered and not pushed to the side, Either we should commit and go on stage as the Hextech trio or Just have Jayce be our spokesperson.

Surprised Jinx didn't mention the issues the hexgates brought due to removing one of the few sources of income Zaun had left.... Namely shipping and their ports.

I don't think Zaun has ports or at least not enough it would matter.
From the map on runeterra they are a major port and are part of many trade routes given they are the sole route for passage between two seasons

See? The entire Zaun and Piltover split was caused by the creation of that canal so they could gain better benefits for charging tariffs and fees for using it.

Edit: To clarify there was a disaster while they were making the canal that sunk a large portion of that part of the continent and sunk it rather than forming a clean split.

The part that sunk became Zaun and the part above became Piltover

Edit 2: if it helps Zaun is the part on the left and Piltover is on the right

Zaun's ports are mostly piltover or chem baron owned. There not doing much to line the pockets of the common Zaunite, and they can still serve as warehouses for goods. The stuff coming into Piltover has to be counted, taxed, and stored somewhere before it goes back out.

Even so it is a major loss of income as even the chem barons have to pay their workers and if there is no work....

And? If we don't shrink the chembarons hold then those same people are probably gonna be trading for shimmer or dead by war later. Next step for Jinx could be cleaning up the air so more piltover business men can invest in the area.

New technology collapse old jobs and its up to the society to adapt. Increasing food internally for example probably lowered the need for trade fleets. So what happened to those businesses or people? Jinx cleaning up the water, probably have those water selling businesses in zaun close down. All technology has an impact.
