STAR WARS: The Galactic Civil War

C-3PO... I don't think much of him, but that's because he's the resident comic relief of Star Wars, and so was Jar Jar.

I think that he is likely to be the same at the start as he was in the movies: a stickler for protocol, inoffensive, unimaginative, and an incurable diplomat in a time of war. At the same time, he's a polylingual, empathetic, loyal, and entirely committed to service. He's going to start with competent subordinates, a well-prepared war machine, and a Senate that's at least vaguely cooperative. Also, R2D2, the incurable war criminal, and Anakin, his father, a Jedi, and a former slave, so he's going to have his eyes open to the injustice and lawlessness of the galaxy from the outset.

This has been a quest about the Chancellorship bringing out the best of its holders in a galaxy spinning itself apart. If it could bring a statesman out of Jar Jar Binks, why not C-3PO?

@Magoose are we allowed to bring our ocs from the previous quest to this one.

I plan to have my oc Akashi from the previous quest My loyalty is to the Republic. For him to participate in this Galactic civil war as a legend equal to the cannon Star Wars Jedi generals. And be apart of the first generation of heroes and legends that are non force sensitive in the current civil war.

Sure

I never said we couldn't see them or use them

So should I allow you all to make ocs for the grand army of the republic?

Because I might we are about to have a very large army and navy with a very green officers corps.

This will be their baptism by fire and they may not survive.

Also the Jedi… why are the Jedi doing that dammit!
Yes please allow us to make OCs for the GAR and Republic Navy

you know i wonder if jar jar disrupting the sith plan was either because of the force or quite literally not the force an just being himself and bumbling himself to breaking it

I don't suppose I can convince more people to vote for 'A Jedi to Fight the Sith'?

Imagine, Palpatine works tirelessly to attain the seat of the Supreme Chancellor, only for it to somehow end up in the hands of his enemies. Not only that, Obi-Wan Kenobi is trained in combat, so he can help defend himself, and with his actions while training Anakin, he is likely well-liked across the galaxy (maybe not as much as in canon, since Palpatine used his position to send Obi-Wan on more missions than here to try to get close to Anakin).

Not to mention that, as a Jedi and lover of democracy, he is unlikely to stick around the office once his term is up. He's not going to be greedy for power, and will be quick to relinquish it once the job is done, perfect for continuing democracy.

It's a thought. I'd be leery of binding the Jedi closer to the Republic while they have a schism going down, but the man himself is suitable for the position.

Could I nakedly bribe you to vote for C-3P0 in turn?

I'm admittedly not super-familiar with his pre-Empire career, but I'm not comfortable with the notion of giving the chancellorship to Tarkin, the face of Space Nazism in the canon timeline.

He is not one here.

It kinda help Jar Jar restore his faith on the Republic and he is away from the big bad Sith Lord that enebles his worst aspects.

Well, many Russian-speaking colleagues compare the Empire with the Second Reich rather than the Third (for reference - Kaiser's Germany is also guilty of acts of genocide). Still, in the original films, the Empire is opportunistic and more concerned with its own survival. And Palpatine cares about nothing except absolute power.

PS - however, they think Tarkin is a pathetic loser and an idiot. I personally voted because... Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

The Empire is, rather transparently, based on the Third Reich. Heck, the original trilogy in general takes a lot of cues from WWII.
And Palpatine's Empire was an extremely oppressive, unsubtly racist regime.

Very well, very well...

I don't think C-3PO would be good for the position, but we managed to turn Jar-Jar into the best Supreme Chancellor the Republic has seen in years. We might be able to pull another miracle out of him as well.
