STAR WARS: The Galactic Civil War

Voting is open
If a droid gets elected to chancellor ship hell if a droid gets chosen as a member of the war cabinet… it will be a very final nail in the coffin of anti droid shit as well as justification for jar jars rhetoric that all sentients are equal.

Even droids.

I have an OC that I like, but… he would certainly not want to be the Supreme Chancellor. Not when the Republic is going to war. He would much prefer to defend the Republic and her ideals from the bridge of his ship, where he has almost half a century (I think? Depends on the exact date RN) of experience in such matters.

And the other characters I have would be unsuitable for… various reasons.

(Director Maximillien might actually burst a blood vessel at the thought of having to work with any of the following: Non-human, clone, droid, or Jedi)

You're basing your entire evidence off of a single reply Magoose made several months ago and have been spending nearly ten pages repeating the same arguement, and again I will tell you this:

The opinions of fictional people will mean nothing on getting a droid into office, if we vote for it, it will happen, and it's Magoose's job to write a justification on how a Droid got into the senate

Off the top of my head for the Venari plan, a sizeable majority couldve voted her in for the meme, others could be trying to prey on her lack of experience, hell, maybe Palpatine tries meddling in the election only for it to backfire spectacularly when the candidate he picked turned out to be the next Jar-Jar sized headache

All of these are viable options, and the public sentiment of the galaxy is irrelevant at this moment

Anyways I'm getting tired and upset, vote Venari if you want a droid that could narratively fit into the canon of the quest without much issue while also struggling to fit through doors meant for Humanoids smaller than her.
So you dont take QM word and try to push a narrative im okay with that had to get that straight im also not against droid Chancellor but the oc and expy of transformers wont get my vote because i dont like the aesthetic of them and what galactic society would pivot to be faster then our little world 'Earth' i was okay with the discussion up to this point and it tickeld my funny bone with the vulture. But tbh why i championed jarjar last quest was because of the trope of bumbling fool Trips into high places and Office he won ... i was surprised so yes i will vote for tarkin later if it seems hondo has no chance.
Not to say im quiet against a droid but i would prefer hk or c3po.

Actually C3PO is an option.
[X] Plan: Flesh of silver, heart of gold, soul of Skywalker.
-[X] What is your name?: C-3PO Skywalker (adopted/accepted/recognized by the family).
-[X] What do you look like?:

-[X] The Outside Bet: The Reluctant Contender.

Also, here's @Spart117MC explanation for thematic significance of C-3PO as the Supreme Chancellor after Binks, I myself couldn't had stated it better.
Here, see?

Jar Jar is exiting stage left, he is not running for a third and I will not allow it.

Out of curiousity will he be a active political figure going forward or is he functionally going in to political exile? As it isn't exactly unheard of for former leaders to remain informal advisors, hecklers etc. let alone in more party based systems where they remain politicians, they just stop being the head honcho.

@Magoose Will the closeness of the vote be reflected in story ? if Tarkin loses he will have big authority considering he would only lose by couple of votes.
Potentially.

Like say if Tarkin is a runner up he may expect a position in the next administration or be granted a rank of admiral which he was allowed to have given his ability and rank prior.

But never leave out the fact that he might be more useful to the next administration on the front rather then on coruscant.

It isn't exactly doomed, I mean, it's still second place between the two constant tiers, and we have a week, who knows, you might actually win during the week!
Don't give up hope yet, I believe in your vote, and it's a rather good vote itself.

Doesn't matter if voting stays open for a year, I'm working against the inertia of the top two votes with a 25 deficit and - even after desperately clogging the thread with constant posting for an entire day at the expense of my energy, health and mood trying to explain the narrative and comedic hooks - I still get proven time and time again that I'm working against the "First Come First Serve" inertia of SV where the first foot through the door wins and the latecomers get shafted.

Unless 25 voters miraculously appear out of nowhere and all decide to vote for third place, the vote's pretty much a foregone conclusion and to stay any longer trying to catch up is just more wasted sleep and less time working on my own projects (which I have neglected all day).

By all means, maybe I get proven wrong, maybe we get some kind of paradigm shift later down the road, but SV's gotten predictable and I'm not wasting anymore sleep repeating the same arguments over and over again when I know that it isn't going to matter.

So yeah I'd say 'doomed' is the right word.

Fair enough, I should be heading to bed myself anyway.
Good Night then.

Well like Magoose has said that we can assign a droid in the war cabinet then I don't mind our other contender for Chancellorship being Tarkin being elected as Chancellor of the Galactic Republic.

Though let's wait for now as the Tarkin Doctrine is only in the lead by 2-3 votes depending on if Magoose counts [x] [X] Tarkin doctrine vote count as the vote for the Tarkin Doctrine. From @Mr.IAmHere that voted for the Tarkin Doctrine.

Adhoc vote count started by TirelessTraveler on Mar 8, 2025 at 2:10 PM, finished with 392 posts and 140 votes.

Updating my Votes.

So should I allow you all to make ocs for the grand army of the republic?

Because I might we are about to have a very large army and navy with a very green officers corps.

This will be their baptism by fire and they may not survive.

Also the Jedi… why are the Jedi doing that dammit!
