And on that note: good news! With +23 cadre instead of +20, we have an 85.4% to summon at least one Sun Spark if we get Winter 2 and try twice.

Aww missed that part in the plan area thanks @Witherbrine26

Also noticed income is still set at 45 didn't it go back to 60 last turn after we got Ashley to Lady Mylissa. Shouldn't it be 315?
That 40/month is a mistake, however the total amount isn't.
You gain income over the course of the turn, so you still had the 45/turn during turn 8, meaning you only got 45 at the start of turn 9. Going forward you'll have the 60/month.

@Witherbrine26 as far as rituals go, is subversion universally dominant?

Can we, for example, create a Moth-Major Lantern-Minor ritual designed to obscure and confuse Knowledge and Insight? Or would Subversion make that impossible?

Or any ritual with Knock as the Minor aspect in general.

No, subversion really only comes into play when you decide to. Your example ritual would work just fine, but you could also make the same Moth Major Lantern Minor ritual utilize subversion so that it drives people mad. Which is in fact what The Answer is Yes does

Hmm, do people think we should grab the Ivory Horns?

Because they'd be good trading material for the merchant.
No, the dappled wings are useful for several tasks, including apparently stealing things, probably not worth stealing their horn over. Particularly when they provide a neat way to handle our Foe permanently with no suspicion if we can get him into the right situation.

Ignore the Hours when making rituals, just toss connecting rituals to Hours aside. When making them you'll pick primary Lore, secondary Lore and what you want the ritual to do. The result can invoke symbolism of the Hours or it won't but at the end of the day they won't be any different from eachother.

The only exception is rituals that Hours have a direct hand in, but by definition you cannot make those.

For the sake of transparency it's not impossible to notice, just impossible to notice through mundane ways. Somebody may be able to figure out that a person has been infested by using Thinker powers. Not saying its a guarantee, just that is something that is possible and I wanted to be clear so you didn't think the Dappled Wing infestation was 100% impossible to notice.

Alright, punting the problem to Delilah it is!

Just combine Moth and Secret Histories, you'll end up with a ritual for getting someone so lost they'll have to roll to see if they stay in the same multiverse.

Ah, so we make him Velvet's problem, got it.

The Subversion principle should work here, probably something like blunting all sensory sensations and losing touch with your emotions.

I would rather assume that it would encourage a person to immerse themselves in their memories, forgetting about the world in a stream of sweet nostalgia.

A moth is always subverted by a lantern, to get around this it is necessary to put another principle between them.

Subversion knock everything except SH, so it's more likely to work the other way around.

The mechanisms are not necessarily inherently related to the forge. This combination is more likely to lead to a fire-related accident.

The forge, like the moth, promotes transformation both externally and internally. Together, they are likely to double this effect. This combination probably causes him to develop cancer or some other harmful mutation.

Subversion does not automatically destroy a principle in a ritual, you have to invoke subversion on purpose.

Current tentative plan consists of:
  • 5 AP
  • No medicine, roll 1 healing die (-0 AP)
  • AotL Grail
  • Request 30 funds for summoning
  • 1) Winter lesson
  • 2 & 3) Summon a Sun Spark (x2)
  • 4) Talk to Sol
  • 5) Wax-Melted Trail
  • (Charlotte) Heart Influence on us
  • (Wing #1) Lend to Delilah
  • (Wing #2) Look for rituals
Any input?

AotL Moth in case of another surprise questioning, have a DW look for artifacts instead of rituals to better increase our power when ritualing or expeditioning.

No, pissing off the Dappled Wings is not worth it. Especially when we need to be sneaking about.

I have not seen any evidence of this opinion. But I have seen confirmation that Subversion plays an important role in other Witherbrine26 quests. For example, in Ascending in the House of the Sun, when crafting artifacts, reagents from Subversion-prone elements cannot be mixed.
From this, I proceed from the position that Subversion in Witherbrine26 quests is a process that happens automatically and requires conscious effort to prevent it.

@Witherbrine26 Can our calls perform rituals or at least participate as helpers?

I have clarified that subversion is something you invoke on purpose here.

I'm afraid I don't know what you mean by calls

It only blocks us from summoning them for three Turns.

But yeah, dealing with our Foe first would be good.

If only we had more Lantern then we could just use The Answer is Yes to deal with him.

Nah, too strongly resembles a Master effect. We'd want something that won't trigger parahuman responses, which the non-compromised will be ready with since Edict's death 'clearly' involved an unknown parahuman with unknown, likely tinker or master, powers.
