It'd require finesse and much more.
Skills that you neither have nor even understand, as of now that is. You stare at her for a second longer than necessary, your eyes glinting with excitement and pure need of this.
Where you could be a child and much less the man people seemed to think you were.
The boy who wished for his family to be whole and the people to be well kept after.
You loved to care for them as you did your family as well; however, it had felt much like you were clawing for things outside of your reach. A rung higher than you could ever make possible
Yet, you had brought an appreciative look to Maegor's once, and your grandaunt had wished to spend time with you to see what the commotion was about as it were.
"Has a cat got your tongue, or are you scared, brother?" She taunted you, she curtsied even, and you frowned before you realised how quick that Tessarion had matched you. How easily it had bared its teeth towards Dreamfyre in what only seemed to be the competitive thump of your chest that you both shared.
"To King's Landing and back, brother? May the best win?" She offered it with the confidence of a practiced flyer, yet you had hummed; you had easily caressed the scales of Tessarion.
You had felt it; the bond had only strengthened in the seconds since Rhaena had bared her wager. You had nodded and turned to her with a lazy grin.
"Of course. Though I worry if your pride can handle the loss. On your mark, sister." You had purred to her, your voice scratchy, and your excitement easily known as you rolled your eyes. They closed softly, as you had felt as if you were looking through the eyes of your greatest friend.
Tessarion had whined, or perhaps it was a growl that warned you of something, but you had quickly opened your eyes to note your sister's eyes watching you. Her jaw dropped, and you hadn't had time to question it before she had cleared her throat.
She had grasped Dreamfyre tight as the dragon had snarled, like a warning purr of some sort.
"On my mark..."
The wind had picked up as Rhaena's voice had risen higher, a pitch that was as playful as her words with her maidens but like always with dragons, with a bond with creatures that held as much intelligence as their riders at times, it was a step above. It was more than just a race like you were riding prized steeds from one corner of a castle to another, this was for more than just bragging rights.
It was the right of a dragonlord, for the last of the dragonlords.
"Get set..."
You had turnt your head to watch your sister, to see how easily she had smirked. To know how she felt when your dragons had reared their heads. Their eyes burning with perhaps the same excitement but there was another quality that rushed through you as well. Perhaps it had rushed through Rhaena as well.
Pride.
It was your right and now, you would have to give it your all....
"Ride."
You had heard Rhaena give the worded command to Dreamfyre yet you hadn't. Instead you had simply whispered a note in thought. Your eyes closed as you felt once more the beat of dragon's wings as you took off into the sky with a roar as Tessarion had trailed behind Dreamfyre. It was not hard to miss the trail of blue in the sky.
How easily and perhaps with confidence Rhaena had given the dragon its commands, how quickly and eager Dreamfyre was to follow. You sighed to yourself but smirked with pride as you had already realised that Dragonstone was in the rear. That you would soon be upon King's Landing with quickness.
You had only continued to feed into the bond. To feed into its great feeling. You had felt like you had deserved it. You had needed this for moments where you had been denied the easiest of things.
Where many thought you spineless and weak but you had commanded—no. You were partners and beyond that, friends, with one of the greatest creatures to grace the world.
You see her, not quickly either, but you were upon King's Landing, and perhaps that is where Dreamfyre as well as Rhaena go wrong. The people are small to you; perhaps if you had ridden lower, there would have gasps and roars of appreciation to see their prince and princess after so long, but here you were.
Your eyes focused on the race, however. You had continued to wonder how they could have gotten had they had a better bond, but that is where you were superior. You were closer than you'd ever been to Rhaena, as she shared a surprised and shocked look with you before you had executed a manoeuvre that seemed too advanced for someone like you.
For someone who had only just gotten to ride the dragon.
You had reared back, and it is as if Tessarion floats, as if he were a horse, feet skidding in the dirt, but this is far more beautiful. Far more intricate and advanced, like a marble statue of some legendary heroes from aeons ago.
It makes you gasp as you realise how quickly and swiftly Tessarion turns about and how the move comes to him as if it were a second pair of wings and you were faster than Dreamfyre, who needed all the time in the world.
You had executed the manoeuvre, as you'd found yourself blazing through the skies. Your eyes soon focused on Dragonstone. Your eyes narrowed at the sight of the dragonpit as you felt a calming beat into your chest. Your eyes widened when you turned back to find no one, no Rhaena or Dreamfyre, but that is when you saw them, far behind you and nowhere near...
You had soared ahead of her as you felt your mind merely accept what it was.
You had won.
Hah! You had done it, and you won...

Greatly Improved Dragonriding
Gods that had felt brilliant as it took a minute later, perhaps more for your sister to land beside you in the dragonpit. Her eyes rolled and her lips curled up in distaste as she studied you with... intrigue.
"What on earth are you, brother?" She hissed, her hand grasping the front of your leathers with some fanatical grip and a hazy look to her eyes.
"What I am is a winner, sister. Other than that? What could you possibly mean? I have merely beaten you, a far more experienced rider than I, how does that feel?" You allowed a bit of cheer to slip into your voice, yet Rhaena hadn't lost that look to her eyes.
"No one, not a single person besides Maegor, perhaps, and even that is a possibility, should have done what you did with Tessarion just then. What happened? You hardly uttered a command; you had merely closed your eyes." She had not let go of your leathers, and that look in her eyes was disturbing you, as it had taken you a second to realise how quick Dreamfyre had done the same.
How Dreamfyre had locked its tail with Tessarion and even your dragon seemed to be stunned, as it had eeked away slowly from its pursuing dragon yet you had met her gaze head on. You hadn't truly known what else to say but the truth.
"When I ride with Tessarion, it's not about battle, blood, or even some false ownership. We are partners and I merely show my friend what it wants, what it needs and what I can give it in return. That is all; it is not some trick, well, besides what I had done at King's Landing that is. Do you think they saw?" Your lips had curled up with worry but some pride had slipped in again as you felt like people deserved to know you, deserved to know that they had someone who could protect them with a dragon at least.
"I think it will take three moons until our cousins decide to come here as well, discussing your prowess with your dragon. It is not natural, Vis. I warn you, be careful not to do too much. You may find people, even amongst our family, who will not like how far you have come with...your naturally given talents at least." She had given you some words to think on as a cleared throat had brought you both out from your moment.
You had spun on your feet as you saw Egg before you. His arms had folded over one another, but there was something else, some guard to himself as he had muttered something to Rhaena, who had smiled softly. She leaned forward, freezing herself on the spot as if she wished to kiss on the cheek goodbye, but she had only muttered it instead. Dreamfyre had mimicked her again as she had gone to her cave, easily leaving you and your brother to yourselves now.
You and Aegon had never shared long silences before. In fact, they had disturbed you both at points that you had tried your hardest to make sure things were always cordial, but now things had a scar across it. Where you had to wonder how far things would go before either of you made the effort or even then, how far it would go before you decided to never speak to each other again.
Yet here he is, making the effort and some part of yourself mislikes that. It should have been you, for all that Aegon cared, he never had the way with words that you had. Truth in point is how he stands her, silent, and you merely stand in response because you do not know what to say or where to begin, you don't know why he is like this, and why it seemed as if you had committed some grievous sin but you would try to mend it, however you could.
"Must we do it here? I would have preferred to bathe after what I just went through, it certainly makes one sweat, you know?" You tried and ran your fingers through your hair as he had chuckled stiffly, a smile twitched at his lips before even then he was still tense and you feel the awkwardness seeping over towards you now.
You seized it tight into your hands. Your eyes closed and you had merely counted numbers in your head before you held up on your hand now, stopping it as if you had some sort of magic to will it so.
Hah, that would be the day.
"Please, Egg. Do not make it as if we are strangers, not this day, nor the next decades we will spend travelling our home. What have I done, make me understand, I do not wish to be the reason why we are like this so." You watched as his eyes widened but instead he scoffed, his anger came forth and you had realised you had done something but he had seemed both disgusted with himself as well as you, as some sort of putrid thing, a jealousy almost had taken hold of him.
He mockingly claps his hands as he looks down at the dirt beneath both of your feet. You could almost tell how much he wishes for it to be nothing, for it to swallow him whole and you try to walk forward, to bring him out of it as he just looks at you blindly. As if he is both looking at and through you. It makes you worry to see that look on your face, for once you can remember where you have seen that face countless times before.
Uncle Maegor had made it no secret his feelings on you in the past, to see that look on Aegon hurts you more than you care but soon he speaks, with his eyes burning.
"There it is." He whispers with spite, his words soft and hard, like shattered dreams at his feet. "My brother. The one who must heal everyone and fix everything. So much so that he does not trust me to do as I have been training to, to do as he believes, flounder my right and inheritance, isn't that it?" You stare at him as his eyes glistened and he points an accusatory finger at you.
His steps bolder as you realise how far is he from you but his words are clearer than they have ever been.
"That is not it, brother. I did this for you, I did this for you, for all of us!" You responded back, and yet you felt a searing heat in your head, a throbbing dagger of anger had thrusted into your head as you hissed to yourself quickly. Your eyes closed as you tried to count in your head, to make the anger cease and to let cool sense rule the day but he was accusing you of not trusting him, he was mocking you for everything you'd done for him.
"Lies! You ride a dragon, you conspire with Maegor, for what!? By what right do you think me not ready, Viserys? I have been by you, with you, and for you all your life when others have hardly trusted you. When they doubt my little brother, I always say that he knows what he can do, that he knows and understands that I will always trust and believe in him. Yet, the first time I was not even there to ask you to believe in me. What do you do? Do not tell me lies, brother! What have you done!?" You stood there and watched as he frothed, as he raged, his finger curled back into his palm as merely thumped his fist into his chest.
He says nothing, instead you look at him, you truly look at him, at how different this is when you understand how you all are. How different you are, Aegon has the field, his blood runs hot and even now it commands him to rage and yet his heart merely thumps like his fist had. He wants to know, and you will have to tell him, to let him know why...
"To prepare you." You whisper faintly. Your voice cracked as the emotions, the anger, the sadness, and Aegon's words had merely made you quieter, softer, less confidence as you had been moments ago after the race with Rhaena.
Fitting.
"It was for you. The realm was close to fighting us on every front, the High Septon would have had cause. Without Maegor, we would have been facing rebellions from the West and quite possibly the Reach as well. Not to mention all the others who chafe beneath our rule, it was for you, for you to better yourself, Egg. I promise you. What other reason would I have? Tell me, hm?" You responded and as you had, your voice grew.
Confidence had entered your tone as you shivered with delight when you felt the searing fire enter your body once more. Your eyes narrow on Egg as he notes the change but his eyes had turnt to the dragon resting at your feet, and if anything, his entire being changes. His arms folded once more and he closes himself off with a roll of his eyes.
"Is that so, Viserys? Yet as I know it, you have managed to find yourself friends. You have managed to have your orphans hired at that tavern you perform at. Now, even, you have managed to find out so many things from unsavoury. So I wonder what is it truly want, is Maegor supposed to train you or me? From what I hear, he seems interested in seeing your swordsmanship improve, to see your prowess improved beyond the capabilities of what you have now. Tell me, is it for me or for you, Viserys? Are we meant to call you Maegor's heir?" He hissed at you and that is when you see it.
Jealousy.
However, you do not have the time, instead he glares at you.
"Of all the people to go to, of all the people to worry and fret to, you went to him. You did not come to Rhaena, myself, or mother. You made a deal with the gods damn demon spawn of our uncle. That hurt me more than anything else, I was proud of you and your dragon, yet I hear of all this news, of all these things now about how our grandaunt wants to talk with you. What am I to think of it, Viserys? To believe the word of someone who I have always kept at my side?" He broke all too soon as he stares at you, he stepped closer and this time, his hand had grasped your leathers.
You hadn't cared as he stares at you with pain, he wants an answer as his eyes glistened with tears, a single or two had rushed down his cheek.
"The truth, brother. Why didn't you want to come to me, why didn't you want to face this with me? With Rhaena? That's how it has always beem, us three against the entire world, what changed, little brother?" He asks you finally and you merely stare at him with softness, your eyes closed as the pain continued but so had the sadness, this felt like you were about to make or break him.
You see it still, he loves and cares for you, but what broke him was that you did not come to him and you smile sadly at the prospect. If only he knew how much you had done for him, why you had done it, what your widlest dreams were...
To always be at his side, to be his hand, to be the brother he needed...
Had you ruined that?
You shivered at the feeling that settled in your stomach.
You would need to be careful, you would need to tell him a truth, one that he needed. If you did not, well, perhaps there would be other dreams for you to acomplish...
[] Tell him of your dream, of your dream to always be by his side, to be the brother he needed...
[] Tell him of your plan, of your need to have Maegor steady the realm whilst he can prepare, to save it...
[] Tell him of your dream, of your dream to be the people's champion, and how you will need him...
