[X] Action Plan: Lemmings to the Slaughter

Purely because betwwen this, LotRoL, and MdD, it would be nice to feel what it's like to be loyal to a village, for at least a little bit.

If it matters any to you, we are still loyal to Leaf at the current moment of MfD and have been for many years. We temporarily went undercover but that's not very much like going missing for real in terms of what the audience experience is like, we were still working towards Leaf interests. Loyalty to a village is not unfamiliar to us.

Technically, sure, but we haven't exactly spent much time doing the normal "loyal genin / chunnin career track" stuff.

While I did like the idea of staying loyal to Rain, Rain pulling shit like this is not inspiring loyalty.
Well to be fair we don't actually know if its Rain pulling that shit, or if it was just Haru being desperate not to fail the Hanzou-given mission of uncovering the signs of Rock sabotage, and decided to do a false flag instead. The "Wrathful Flame" was not exactly the picture of sanity even before he melted himself, from the PoVs we have seen of him and we dont actually have more than circumstantial evidence.

That's true but if you want normalcy specifically I expect that we have 0 chance of that going back to Rain. Shrooms has flat-out said that we'd need to demonstrate exceptional value to Rain if we returned, so our options from my point of view are execution or going into pure spec-ops stuff instead of the normal career track.

To be clear, I'm not saying you can't convince Hanzou of your worth, just that trying to play dumb is probably a dead end approach (literally)

To be fair, its not like we have to decide literally this update, do we? It should be a while before we are deemed missing.. if at all. I mean both jounin died as did the other genin, what are the chances whatever Rain patrol hits up the place actually realizes we are even alive? Let alone quickly. And all PCs got quite injured, I imagine it might even be standard operating procedure for a team of injured genin with a dead sensei to hole up somewhere and wait till recovery because as we are right now, a simple stray chakra beast could easily kill us.

So we (maybe) shouldn't even be doing anything illegal... yet?

Very high if an actual patrol comes through. We left living witnesses to our victory over Haru and his genin both.

You did identify yourself as hailing from hidden Rain in Sarobetsu during the day, but when you returned for the actual battle it happened in the gloom. So, plausibly the civilians may not know who the combatants were affiliated with either, and given that war actually did break out this may well be attributed to Hidden Leaf, at least at first. I think there's enough info for them to suspect your survival but not to confirm it entirely (once news finally arrives that conflict happened near the border and they notice Haru/Jun hasn't checked in in a while.) Though it's always possible the wandering patrol comes across you more directly, I suppose.

I mean, I'm aware, I've read the story and the thread post (and 1% of the discord, but I just can't commit the time for that). But we did leave Mist, and then Swamp. And we legitimately considered leaving with Akatsuki.

By that token, Kakashi is a much more loyal example, since he's just trying to track down his sensei's killer, who has been a harmful opposition to his village, and this route was under plausible deniability approval/acknowledgement from Hiruzen.

Man, I miss LotRoL.

That was same day? Surprised he healed his Mild and regenerated all his chakra in ~16 hours

Given that we were seen in Sarobetsu that day I think Occam says we fought him and won. At least if I was a hunter-nin I'd assume that.

I thought it was a couple days apart ("during the day" was just meant to indicate that people did see you but only in the capacity of helping out, looking around, and leaving)

Perhaps. Though again it's unclear how much manpower is being devoted to true 'hunters' right now (especially for some clanless genin), rather than a typical patrol watching out for Fire nin.

So are we actually making Hidden Heaven this time around since Skywalkers dont exist in this timeline and it looks like we're going missing haha
Hole up in some swamp and fly around recruiting random chakra capable civilians.

I see skywalkers have been mentioned... to be honest I don't see myself enabling mass available flight in this setting :p

Guess we'll just have to invent reflective, non-ablative armor then.

(Admittedly, water, Earth and wind are probably the best elements for that anyway. And I'm realizing with those elements, we've got an answer to every element, or at least a neutral match up. Though without lightning and with a water user, we're a little susceptible to earth element users.)

[x] (Research Downtime): Curved Swords!
Kenzou: Try to add your muscle mass into your defensive-style plays (+Physique AB to MW Blocks)

[x] (Research Downtime): Fly, You Fools
Momoka: See if you can use chakra repulsion on your fingertips to boost your ranged weapon attacks (+Chakra AB to RW, at the cost of some minor amount of chakra, stacks with Boost)

[x] (Research Downtime): Hardcore Parkour
Shion: See if you can use your strength to overcome environmental obstacles (Ignore Physique AB Borders when taking the Supplemental Sprint action across zones).
