The Bonds that Shape the Universe Again (A Persona/Batman Adventure)

[X] The Detective: Through wit and observation, you'll uncover the city's darkest truths, piecing together the web of lies to bring justice to the forgotten and oppressed.

[X] The Phantom Thief: You'll steal from the corrupt, expose their secrets, and turn Gotham's shadows against them, all while leaving behind a mark that inspires rebellion.

Okay, the thing with Gotham is that it's corruption is entrenched in it's literal foundations. Arkham, The Court of Owls, Deacon Blackfire, the Mob... even before the advent of the likes of The Joker, all of it is so tied into the city's identity that just becoming another Batman won't be enough. Even with the entire Bat Clan, Bruce was never able to stop things, just keep up a holding action. The Phantom Thief takes the city's strengths, and uses them against it. Instead of trying to use fear and superstition we'll have the crime families so twisted up about who we'll target next that we'll be able to get through to the street level guys that make the entire operation possible. Show them that their bosses aren't worth the respect they give them, that there are better ways.

Honestly using shadowy tactics against the entrenched underworld of Gotham seems not only fitting but fun as hell. Especially since it'll be years, if not decades, before the Dark Knight will rise. So there's no reason to not give organized crime a black eye whilst enriching ourselves* in the process. Especially if it means using Persona tactics and causing crime bosses to inexplicably turn over a new leaf and become philanthropists.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Gotham City PD reacts to this previously grounded universe being introduced to magic.

12 years before Bruce becomes Batman in year one.

Also year one is going to be slightly different what with Gordon already being on the gcpd and being Harvey's partner.

Stealing hearts here will not be the same as traveling the metaverse.

Because unlike say persona 5 Gotham is to toxic and magical to really have a mementos.

Here Gotham is the dungeon… and it's not the fun kind.

And well you'll see what I planned.

I mean Gotham has been no stranger to magic… it's just that we're going to be operating on a whole different level.

How changing hearts works here will be a bit different then in persona 5 or royal…

Just saying.

But I am going to say this.

The Arsene Lupin novels and stories has become one of my favorite stories and oh boy will it play a part in how things work.

More than enough time to establish ourselves before the Bat makes himself known. It'd be hilarious if we had a brief tangent when Bruce is uncharacteristically surprised by Adam's uncanny resemblance to himself.

As long as the system allows us to cathartically kick the crap out of evildoers in our own special way I'll be happy. I'll be looking forward to when you clarify how stealing hearts is different in this game.

Gotham may not be a stranger to magic but much of it is in the territory of hearsay and folklore. Tall tales like the zombie of Slaughter Swamp. Our antics are going to make maintaining any sense of a "masquerade" all the harder.

Not only that, but we may also be able to intervene in the lives of other would-be villains. Imagine holding out a legitimate hand of friendship to Waylon Jones. In the comics he almost literally reinvented himself until it was revealed that the people that he thought were his friends were using him.

Or being there when the Joker washes out of the drain pipe and giving him help without cost. It can make one hell of a difference.

Al I will say is that Thomas Wayne was a faithful husband…. His father and grandfather on the other hand… less so.

All I will say is that Gotham actually has some buried treasure sitting around from the American revolution… 100 million dollars in colonial era documents, coins and other valuables including a very interesting piece of Gotham history.

Yeah but by the time Batman comes around it's pretty put out as it were.

Already have some ideas for a few of the rouges becoming allies.

Crane is just the only one who remained the same from the original.

And Selina is out… kinda.

Or being there when the Joker washes out of the drain pipe and giving him help without cost. It can make one hell of a difference.
Joker will always exist. Dosent matter if it's Jack Napier or someone else.

We have wings, and magic is a thing we can do. This also separates us from others. I wouldn't mind phantom thief.

[X] The Detective: Through wit and observation, you'll uncover the city's darkest truths, piecing together the web of lies to bring justice to the forgotten and oppressed.

I would love to read a Supernatural Detective story. Not to mention it takes place in Gotham too!

Also, I love how you incorporate the Persona elements here.

My Vote:

We can potentially have wings. Remember that we're still learning how to use our powers while doing this.

I would love to read a Supernatural Detective story. Not to mention it takes place in Gotham too
Not to mention that there are very few dc stories that all have used gothams history and supernatural stuff in it.

Also, I love how you incorporate the Persona elements here
You will see a lot more once we really begin.

Current vote, Detective has a slim lead while Magician and Phantom Thief are tied for second place.
