So when it connected to the data cores of those ComStar ships, even the most paranoid attempts to shield their secrets and delete the information contained within found themselves like fetuses who had been lobotomized and forced to fight against a titan that reformed worlds with the swing of an arm and destroyed stars with its breath of creation.
One hand to destroy all Creation, and another to build it all over again.

I mean we're going to have a leg up on the IS no matter what since we can actually build functional (and fast) FTL spacecraft. Seriously the limitations on Jumpship travel speed (unless you have a relay system etc) and the amount of cargo they can move is very punishing.
Your "leg up" in FTL is having a donut spaceship with a 9km diameter. You cannot, with your available resources after colonizing 50 world, construct another such vessel, or the Alcubierre Drive. It took a mostly-working-together Earth and Lunar Colonies 30 years to build the Furina De Fontaine.

It would be faster to just crack open a Jumpship and have a look at what makes 'em tick, build the infrastructure to build them, and then build more.

5x times more stuff?

Are we using gravity tech to assist our engines reaction mass move faster? We do use fusion engine in dropships? I assume our colony ships have only station keeping thrusters and simply use its fold drive to move around?

What about using those for inertial dampners?

Or actual pure gravity drive for ships?

Because if 0.8 g is economical for widespread use are there places where its used with higher strenght?

More then 1 g of acceleration for easy surface-orbit transfer?

Focused areas of high g to make fusion easier/better? Do we even have fusion? Did Mother already noted that BT reactors are bullshit hyperspace taps?
In order of the question;
According to @vsh. Would you care to chime in here?
Gravity-Plates function like a blanket where one side generates gravity. So most likely.
You use ion engines for the Furina for planetary maneuvers (going in/out of its gravity well), chemical and ion engines for the Ta'xet and Nabu Parasite Craft, alongside chemical for your colony landers as they only need to go Furina->Colony Site->Furina.
Kinda hard to do dampening if you can only create gravity. Requires a lot of very precise applications of the plates.
No.
I must've explained it wrong. After 0.8G it is just not worth the effort as that is when the cost for 0.81G is double than going to 0.8G in its entirety, and for 0.82 it is quadruple, and so forth.
No.
No.
Yes, but large building-sized reactors. Fun Fact: this means the Furina De Fontaine is technically steam driven!
It is mostly annoyed and a bit angry right now, with half the information flagged for independent confirmation as it couldn't be true due to its utter stupidity. Like the reactors.

Edit: Also, no comments on the Mechs you looted?

But with that, Night!

Even the Alcubierre Drive?
Though in regards to the whole '9km donut' thing, how much of that is empty space? Becuase from a quick look the biggest ships that BT ever managed to make are only up to about 1.5 to 1,7 kilometers long.

Do we have specifics on what they are OOCly? Or should we find out ICly?
They are found in Assets.

But seriously; Night (for me)!

It's a big space-warping drive, so yeah.

The Furina De Fontaine is around ~9km in diameter, with a ~2km large inner hole.

Oh wow, that is some crazy construction techniques they have. Making something that big mobile while crushing itself? Sure ion engines (which is what is uses) aren't the most forceful of the drives but still....

We have a good selection of mechs from 25 to 85 tons but from looking through things, they all appear to the introtech.

Well, BT never discovered micro-electronics IIRC. So they are all bumbling around with 80s casette computers writ advanced, as a franchise from the 90s would do when writing about futuristic technology.
Now that I remember I read a comment from someone comparing Battletech with Fallout about how technology developed in series

How it works, what it can do practically and how it meshes with frankly bullshit BY tech is entirely QM fiat. I ran a very basic napkin math on tsiolkovsky formula with different Gs and partially compensating for gravity increases the mass an engine can take roughly linearly, but it gets wonky on planets that have less than 0.8g of gravity and in space. Also (though it doesn't matter much for completely unrealistic bt fusion torch engines) should make some things work that don't work currently, eh space planes. TLDR it does what you say it does, you can justify/refuse to justify a lot of superscience stuff with artificial gravity, especially in BT where FTL and gravity interact.

Not voting for a tech option, bc I'd prefer to be superior in gravity tech, coding and electronics (it's just dumb to be inferior to BT in the latter two) but we don't have this as a choice.

That's the Mishmash option. I didn't mention Gravity-Plates in that option due to them being a Unique Technology for you, and I wanted to have three common examples of technology for each side.
