[X] Blackmail Ernst Pedersen: This Report will be a useful tool to keep against the King. Threatening to reveal this secret will prevent him from ever collaborating with a foreign Government and keep him in line. We should also probe him on the Emmerian Agents he contacted and possible spies within the Country.

What's the plan with the blackmail? He didn't spy for ideology or economic reasons, he did it to save his family. Not only was he forced into it but he also lied, risking his family's life to give our country a better chance.

If he is going to collaborate with foreign governments that likely means we need a hostage rescue mission more then extra blackmail.

@Maybe a Commie His family is out of danger correct.

well i want to atleast know what agent he was incontact with so that we may have a small chance to get a proper papertrail on any Emmerian spies in our country. Throwing it away would just close on a possible investigation on making sure Emmeria isnt spying on us.

and this also sets a precedent on how we treat our internal security. If we want our country to be stable atleast have the common sense and search more about his collaborator contacts and how they were able to get his family. Our Country is teetering to collapse for Christ sake, better that we search deeper on the agents. also asking him on that secret will allow us to gauge on whether he easily breaks under pressure.

Making an enemy of the guy we want to run the state when we are this low on stability likely isn't a good idea either. That report will be hanging over all of us like a sword of Damocles. I'm not sure our government would survive its release.

Maybe after winter we talk to him and enlist his help but right now starvation and winter are bigger enemies then any foreign power.
 
@Jack727 I have to agree with you if we make an enemy out of the man we want to take the throne is dangerous and if that report is leaked it could have catastrophic consequences on estovakia not only stability but who else knows what will happen

We should atleast ask about it during the Interview. telling him honestly that we know what he did would be a great way to show some truth and trust and should be the first thing to be asked in an interview. we could corroborate his testimony and what we gathered from our files to know if hes gonna be honest to us or lie. Trust between us and the King us our Top priority.

[X] Help Ernst Pedersen: Although Ernst is a great Candidate we must Help him and ensure that when he gets the Throne and if the papers leaks the People will still trust him. Corroborating his testimonies with what we have, we can start building a narrative of him being forced to leak secrets or else his family will be killed. If the files gets leaked we get our Alphabet Agency to start a rumor of the Emmerians threatening his wife of being rape and their family dog being killed unless he does what they asked, add in a smaller rumor that one of the agents was eyeing his underage daughter as a "ripe fruit ready to be picked". All of this is to push the narrative of a helpless man who had no choice. We should also put an emphasis on his bravery by his obfuscation on our counter offensive, saving lives of men who would not have returned.

[] Interrogate Ernst Pedersen: Although Ernst is a great Candidate we must test him to see if he still lies to the Estovakian Motherland. Ask him about his role as a Collaborator and see if he speaks the Truth or tell Lies. Corroborating his testimonies with what we gathered would both help us in deciding if he is still loyal and trusted to be the King or search for another Candidate, and be a test for our intellegience and counter espionage team.

@Basedburgundy4 that will not matter in the immediate term as I have said before estovakia is on the verge of critical instability. We can confront him when estovakia has stabilized
 
@eumarthan I concede that is a good point. Bit I still think we need to stabilze estovakia if we are to worry about things that can in the future. I say we try to reach a comprise on our opinions and see what comes from it. I feel they are much less likely to leak it and instead blackmail him to do something for them and estovakia is already near critically unstable. Can we really afford it if we are already on the brink of collapse anyway?

Sorry for the double post but for some reason my font decided to change after I typed eumarthan in. I might not agree with him but I think his interrogate is the lesser of two evils. As it is the least likely one that will cause the monarch to hesitate or downright turn down the throne if we blackmail him.

Yes I will phrase the Interrogation more as a help Ernst Pedersen and plug as much leaks as possible and begin corroborating his testimonies and our files to paint him as a Poor man being forced to tell secrets because the Dirty Emmerians threatened to kill his family. Put our Alphabet Agency to work to make that the Narrative. We have to sacrifice something for the sake of Stability and cutting some Bridges with the Emmerians by painting them as Savgages willing to threaten a man's family is better than if the people think the man is a Traitorous Scum. Provided that it leaks.


While Spinning it as Emmerians are bad will damage our relationship with them it is much easier to convince our people that he was a victim and not a Traitor.

Alright everybody just want to let you know that after much discussion between me and eumarthan that I will change my vote after he finishes altering it. We came to a comprise that I hope satisfies people
 
I cant agree to a king whose loyalty may be compromised, its either blackmail or arrest, any other option is to risky for me. National security is at risk if we have a king that is to "friendly" with a nation we were at war with, especially now that we are just rebuilding.
