I hope it is Peleps, because fuck them specifically of all the houses we can have a death grudge with.

I might still be Idelle, which I'm less enthused about, she's easily the most annoying, but here's hoping.

You let go of the White Serpent, seize her by the collar with both hands, and hurl her against the nearest boulder. She gasps as her back hits the granite. You slam both hands against it to either side of her head, and the entire towering stone shudders. Sola stares at you, the wind knocked out of her, eyes wide with shock and still aglow with lightning as she stares into yours.
Her gaze seems to hold yours for longer than normal, taking in your dark eyes, before sliding down to your lips... but all at once, you feel suddenly warm, very much aware of her proximity and the feeling of her body against yours. You see Maia notice, her expression thoughtful as it goes between the two of you, possibly even curious.
You fool, Ambraea! You've wielded the power of the kabedon too carelessly! It's not something to be trifled with!

"I think," Maia says, voice gently practical, "that before anything, you should both have a bath, at least. And me. This mud is awful."
They should both have a bath and Maia? How forward of her.

As the final year steadily disappears behind you, old grudges and resentments bubble up to the surface. People you've wronged, or who have wronged you. What is the venue for one of these becoming impossible to ignore?
All of these have appeal. The grounds I think resembles the confrontation with Ragara Falik Cara a bit too much. The lecture hall has the advantage of dragging in the lecturer and other students, but would perhaps be hamstrung by having to pretend to be playing by normal rules of social acceptability to start with. For a little privacy and mask-off nastiness, I have to opt for:

she's been watching these far too proper ladies of the realm dance around their lingering sexual tension from back before she and Ambraea got together for half a decade. thinking "Just Kiss Already!" at them very hard has accomplished nothing. As Ambraea demonstrated with her not particularly thought through Kabedon, now is a time for boldness!! :V

[X] The grounds, just outside the school

That little moment at the end made me actually tear up a little. This chapter felt like something all three Hearthmates needed to grow as Hearthmates.

[x] Mysticism

Oh cool a Heptagram quest. Here is my main giga brain plot since we are a earth caste.

1. Summon like thirty earth elemental snakes.
2. Basically become a cooler medusa.
3. ??????
4. Profit

I'm cribbing this from one of my players who attempted to do this very very suddenly. :V
Honestly, this post has gotten significantly funnier as the story progressed.

"How interesting," Cerec says, ambiguously. Her red eyes flash with something, but Vahelo can't quite tell what. "Amiti keeps managing to surprise me. One of several things I should discuss with her, I think. Enjoy your rest, child, I'm sure you'll be busy again soon enough."
late conclusion, but is Cerec unsettled by her daughter? in her mind perhaps Amiti is supposed to be the socially inept one. perhaps the one she worried would end up an isolated and ostracized even in sorcerous circles, even maybe needing Cerec to bail her out of questionable circumstances once or twice.

instead she's "Well Situated" with competent, powerful, and devoted friends who look out for her. she's learned to manage her own problems, if with help. now she's "Inadvertantly" arranged for those members of her friends group set to suffer most in terms of their status to demonstrate the value of their skills in a very public and impressive manner, to her mothers surprise, which is worrying because she isn't supposed to be someone easily surprised.

all of this, if it's not my imagination running a little wild with me, I find highly amusing.

She has firmly convinced Sesus Cerec that she is actually much more of an asset than originally assumed :smile2:
