Was looking through the character sheet on the front-page now that it has been filled out partially, and this stuck out to me:
Audrey (Surname) of (Place)
It seems to me that we will still get at least one more round of character creation. And that one of the future votes will be about where we hail from, it seems. I'm guessing it will decide where our Manor Estate will be?

Not quite, Place is pending your Surname, since then we need to figure out roughly where you're from, and that depends on which Surname you have.

I'd do some sort of analysis of the various voting options, but I think people have a pretty good idea what they're voting for, honestly. You all know Reinald won't be able to help you with Hama stuff at all and, well, that's his down side. Ditto Brock being a bit less gifted at Psyche stuff and Wesley's fundamentals being less advanced than the other choices.

Basically, I think all plans thus far would make a valid character and that people are fairly clear at this point on what the various Skill and Lineage choices do.

Reinald also probably leads to a squiring more in line with the mainlands I am guessing? With the skills he goes for. Being French and all.

Eh...a lot of the changes between the two are due to realities on the ground in Wessex and he's had a front row seat to why those changes were made. So possibly in some ways, but likely not in all. I wouldn't assume this as either an upside or downside of picking him.

The first iteration of the Non Combat rules is complete, and if it hasn't been edited into the front page, it will be shortly. It should give you an idea of how things work outside of fights, which will be elaborated on later.

Well, I'm still okay with pretty much any plan winning. I do however want to shill for my trickster plan.

I think our starting choices built someone who can and will be good in the field and in other circumstances. Some of the current plans lean into the strengths we've already established rather well, but I think broadening ourselves a bit would work well too.

With the focus on getting more tricky hama skills, we can basically set ourselves up to both do more versatile things outside of battle and make us a far more annoying opponent to beat. I also think the ability to create attacks and obstacles (and probably other utility objects) is extremely useful and with the tricks we'd learn from Wesley we could leverage it well.

Is this taking place before, after or during norsequest? Could we see any chars from that in this? Like blackhand in his prime?

Unlikely, as Halla had an existing relationship with Wessex for mercenary work. This Quest will involve lots of fighting Norsemen, but probably not Halla's kids specifically.
Halla did, but its mercenary work, not close allies and halla's kids are not her. Unless their first raids are actually a part of her band i don't really see them as having an issue with raiding wessex if thats what their leader wants. I wouldn't be suprised if more than one of halla's kids don't want to live under their mothers shadow.

Or if halla is even alive. We never got to resolve that final battle with the troll after all and i remember things looking a little grim with how busted that troll was.

Halla making a good impression has created a tendency to work for Wessex in the whole petty kingdom of Agder in an ongoing fashion to at least some degree, so most local groups would be unlikely to raid there, and Halla would obviously not like her kids attacking any friends she made there (Gabriel most notably), and the kids would know that (and be even more likely to respect her wishes if she's dead). So whether she's alive or not, this seems unlikely.

Like, it's not technically impossible, but there are lots of places to raid, choosing to raid the one that pisses off your family and neighbors is a weird and unlikely choice.

okay. I feel it would be helpful to actually know how much each new level costs in Zeal
1st Decade:
1st Bead, is 11
2nd Bead is 1
3rd Bead is 1
4th Bead is 2
5th Bead is 1
6th Bead is 2
7th Bead is 2
8th Bead is 3
9th Bead is 3
1st Decade Completion is 2

2nd Decade:
1st Bead: 29
2nd Bead: 2
3rd Bead: 4
4th: 3
5th: 4
6th: 4
7th: 5
8th: 5
9th: 5
2nd Decade Completion: 6?

3rd Decade:
1st: 74
2nd: 7
3rd: 8
4th: 9
5th: 10
6th: 11
7th: 12
8th: 13
9th: 15
Decade: 16?

I think this is correct for the levels that are immediately relevant. I started to get a headache near the end here so I leave the other two decades we know the costs of as an exercise to the reader.

Ah, no, you see, your progression resets to 0, because Beads are effectively XP spent "In that Decade", which get cashed in when you promote.

So the First Bead of the Second Decade costs 29 Zeal, and then further Beads just cost a bit more.

Yes, this does mean that you tend to stall for a bit after entering a new Decade. Working as Intended.

Thanks for the information, I think I just about fixed it.

AAAAAGhhgh, FUCK

I cannot resist any longer.

I know it's pointless, I know you haven't had NEARLY good enough of a look.

But I'm just not strong enough.

...

So! What are your thoughts on the setting so far?

We have like seen like maybe a single digit percent of the planned setting.

I like each culture inspiring their own version of cultivation. I'm interested to see how that plays out, both in conflict and how cultural intermixing occurs.

Curious about the gods and God as well. Wonder if they exist by themselves or are made by the faith of each civilization.

Lots of early mystery basically in how the metaphysics work and the basic bedrock of the world seems very interesting.
