Rolls; 4 - A Loa Legend
When the Shatterspear was yet new to the land amidst the mountains surrounding the jungles of the vale, it was said the first time Shivallah and Bethekk were called they arrived to walk the vale alongside the trolls. To see with their own eyes to see what dwelled within the Vale and to see where the tribe made its home.
Atop the northernmost tip, staring into the sea was a stone monument whose symbolism was long lost upon the Trolls. Yet irregardless they prayed to it as they did to Shivallah and Bethekk.
Shivallah flew into a great fury at the presence of the monument, roaring a challenge to the construct, a whiny sniveling troll who begged answers from the Loa. He had built it for his Forefathers forefather told of a great Loa who once resided in their home, in honor of that Forefather he had constructed the monument.
Shivallah was even more enraged once she learned of the Troll's actions, and swiped that monument off of its perch and into the sea, with the troll alongside it.
Thus it was Shivallah who had picked the site for her shrine.

Mind Actions
-[X] A Number's Game, Two of Three (1 Success Needed) - You are now the leader of the entirety of the Shatterspear Tribe and with that comes the responsibility to actually understand and know the tribe you're now managing. Perhaps now with the success of your recollections and the time spent amidst the children telling tales has settled your mind enough to try again. (1 Mind Dice)
-[X] Greet the Elderly (2 Success Needed) - Though a Wave-Rider, you are not given all the wisdom the tribe has gathered. Much of it has to do with the simple amount that a Troll could recall or orate. Each has their own means, some even having no need simply able to recall all they have been told. But going and meeting the elders of your people will at the very least endear you to them for listening to the Old Guard of the tribe. (3 Mind Dice) Moxie Actions
-[X]Go and Meet the Family (1 Success Needed) - The Shatterspear is a tight knit group of trolls. Everyone knows everyone, even if it's only by reputation or through a friend of a friend. In truth, if you go back far enough, everyone is related to everyone. After spending most of your time reuniting with the Children after months of working on your role as chieftain, it is time to properly go and speak with your people. (1 Moxie Dice)
-[X] Mend the Divide (2 Successes Needed) - You have successfully identified where exactly this strange divide within the clan is happening, and it's almost down Headhunter and Warrior lines with the rest of the tribe split between them. Yet you could very well end this before it grows out of control.
--[X] Approach Krah'Ranik - Approach the leader of the Headhunters within the Shatterspear. He clearly is more worried about saving the lives of trolls rather than setting out to war. Maybe you could convince him to come to your side? (2 Moxie Dice) Prayer Action
-[X] A Bargain Struck - With the revelation that a Loa oversaw the deal with the Elves, it is time to go and speak with the Loa about said deal. While the histories speak in vague words, the Loa might yet be able to recall the meeting in better detail. Ask them, and see what they say.
(Disclaimer: Unable to be used in the same turn you use a Prayer Action, and cannot Use a prayer on this)

Next turn we should focus on training our Warriors or Headhunters and moving on to the Chieftain's home. We'll probably have a choice regarding our stuff, which is probably better to not postpone for longer. Asking the Loa is probably a safer bet than reaching out to the Elves, even if we still need to talk with them, we might have some knowledge due to our interactions with the Loa. Failing a Loa roll might be better than failling while talking to the Elves after all.
-[X] Approach Krah'Ranik - Approach the leader of the Headhunters within the Shatterspear. He clearly is more worried about saving the lives of trolls rather than setting out to war. Maybe you could convince him to come to your side?

Keep an eye on this post, I will have dice rolls for the various actions and opposition.
EDIT: It is currently 3:24am and I have half a report done, but I need to set it down so I can get some sleep in so I can go have lunch with my family for the fourth before heading into work.
I'm really sorry I couldn't keep the daily updates going, but when I get to work I'll have it out.
Strong - +1 Success to Might Rolls
Cunning - +1 Success to Mind Rolls

Instead of saving it for a free moment, perhaps a bit riskily due to the growing tensions inside and outside of the village, prioritizing the need to get the number of trolls in your head straight would eventually help in making decisions. At the very least it helped put your mind to work on a problem that didn't involve some of the growing problems on your list.
So it was you sat through speaking to several Elders, Witch Doctors, and even the two priestesses' as you started to form an image in your head. The truth was no one kept track of the village numbers. It wasn't even really to do with lack of attention, as the elders of the village made a grand tradition of keeping tabs on family, and family's family, and their second cousin who married into that other family on the other side of the waterfall. You had to sit through more than a few elders complaining about the fact their Grandchildren often move to other places within the vale or build their homes higher up on the mountainside than they do.
Of course, you're almost universally dismissed the moment you hint at the idea of leaving it to someone else.
The Elderly took to their duty with no small amount of pride, but it was a disorganized way of keeping track.

There was an art to listening to your Elders. As there was to listen to a lot of things, but ESPECIALLY the Elders of the tribe. On the surface, all they seemed to do was complain often, laze about when no extra hands were needed, and gossip about how Onniji married that twit Mig'tez, when she very much deserved the far better and reputable Po'gurak. But then again Po'gurak was enamored with I'mu, who was currently training under the Witch Doctor Sho'dor. And wasn't THAT a scandal in the making, because Sho'dor was CLEARLY getting ready to one-up their rival Trumbur for 'perfecting' their fire dousing - On and on and ON IT WENT!
The only thing that seemed to come from this entire thing was how it made your head spin.
Until you realized exactly what it was that you were hearing. If anything happened that was not well hidden amidst the tribe or vale, it spread like wildfire amidst the Elders first and foremost.
Your heavy involvement in listening to the Elders has earned you enough leeway to take part, you could most definitely use this.
[Your reputation as a good listener and taker of advice was well received by the Elders of the Tribe]

Spending your time amidst the elders, opened your eyes to just how much they do when you normally would not give it much thought. They watch over the tribe in more ways than they did in their younger years. When the parents worked or were unavailable for some reason or another, it was these elders who watched them, they made matches for their children and often spread the word between families as the Elders gossiped more than almost any other. Usually, it was also in the form of them asking for things that their children didn't need before it somehow through a long series of coincidences and what you're almost sure must be the intervention of a Loa, ends up in the arms of a family who did need it. Without the family even having to ask confused you the most.
How did they learn they needed that in the first place?
Regardless, by the time your mind finished unraveling the strangeness of the Elders whose ability to distribute items throughout the village beggared disbelief and whose monitoring schedules seemed far too in sync and organized to be coincidence as they play it up to be, you realized you simply did not have the time to go and meet the rest of the village.
At least said Elders liked the fact you bothered to listen to their gossiping and paid attention, 'As 'ah good chief should' or so they said.
You still think their ability to magically find those in need was somehow related to Shivallah, but that was unproven.
[The Elders of the Tribe think you're shaping up to be a solid chieftain who actually listens to advice when it is given. Once again, however, you failed to find time to visit the rest of the tribe.]
It took you more than a good while to think on how to approach Krah'Ranik, each was a bit different to the others, but it could make all the difference. Approaching him amidst the Headhunters might have him emboldened by the rest of his band. Approaching him when he separates could be seen as you cornering him to get concessions. Alternatively, you could invite him to your home as Jalo'ki, but after speaking with the Elders as long as you have, the scandal would float through those gossip mongers for months. Oh, and also gave the wrong idea to Krah'Ranik himself.
Then there was the option you decided yourself, summoning him as Chieftain of the Shatterspear tribe.
Granted, this was probably along the same lines as the rest, but acting as Chieftain gave you the mask of doing legitimate work instead of striking a deal with the Headhunter.
You had just thanked and sent away an elder who was informing you that yet another one of their sons was still within marriageable age that Krah'ranik appeared before you. He walked confidently if cautiously into your home, you still had yet to move your tablets and Scrolls in here but that was probably for the best, clearly unsure how this entire conversation would go.
"Krah'ranik," You nod your head in greetings as he squatted across from you. "'Ah've to thank ya' for the work ya' Headhunters be doin' round the borders o' the Vale. D'ey been doin' good work, catchin' the elves' tracks as d'ey did."
The elder Headhunter nodded, accepting the thanks gracefully. "Thank ya', Chieftain. The hunters been just as worried as ah've been bout d'em elves walkin' round our lands." You weren't sure if that was simply acceptance or him trying to hint at something… "If 'ah might ask of ya, why 'ave ya' summoned me? Tis it time for ole' Krah'ranik to lead the Headhunters an' investigate?"
He was practically glowing and giddy at the thought, you saw it in his eyes. It was almost sad to disappoint him, but you shook your head. "No, ah've summoned ya' to speak of the matter wit' Jor'kill." His face darkened at that, clearly even the name of his rival brought anger to the wizened troll. "Its gone on long enuff, Krah'ranik. 'E be but a hot-blooded youngin', do not drag the rest o' the tribe into your spats." Bold of you to say that, considering Jor'kill was barely a year younger than you. You were hardly one to talk when it came to the matters of age.
"'Ah cannot do d'is!" Krah'ranik raised his voice as he stood up from his squat. "D'at boy be lil' better than war mongerin'! He be tryin' to convince whoever be listenin' to 'im!" His hands came down, pleadingly "Surely, ya' noticed d'at he be rilin' the Tribe up wit' his shoutin' of retribution!" No, in truth you hadn't. You barely even realize there was a great way to monitor the tribe in the Elders before having this meeting. You've been consumed the last few months getting your bearings on being Chieftain, alongside trying to find answers in your memories… Even before then… You've never been one to keep track of the tribe's ways…
"'Ah hear your words an' concerns, Krah'ranik." You address, not answering his questions, earning a glare. "But even still, 'ah must insist ya' stop ya fuedin'. The tribe is dividin' itself ova' this issue an' I won't see it happen when the Elves be pokin' an' proddin' us."
The Headhunter's fists clenched in anger, thunder across his face "What 'bout Jor'kill d'en?! He be the one goin' bout an rilin' up the tribe everywhere he be goin'! Why 'ave ya' not been speakin' to him yet?!" His fist impacted his chest "All 'ah am guilty of is d'at 'ah been arguin' d'em!" Before you could even assure him of your intentions, a finger pointed accusingly at you "'Ah tell you d'is, ah'll not let d'at fool o' a Warrior drag d'is Tribe into 'ah war it cannot 'andle, one way or anudda! The only way 'ah'll stop is if d'at fool stops first!"
Krah'ranik stormed out of the hut, fuming mad and spitting fury, leaving you to hold your head in your hands.
If nothing else, you had his word that he would stop if Jor'kill did…
Why did Jah'donak nominate you for this position…

With the matter involving the deal made with the elves, the choice between sending an envoy to speak with the elves was almost immediately rejected in your mind for several reasons. Not least of which is the fact that itself could be a sign of weakness to a possibly aggressive elf force. No, you instead took the opposite avenue of remaining inside the Tribe's lands. The history as it was passed down to you… Almost a decade ago… Ignoring the feeling of time's hand upon your shoulder, history clearly stated 'Under Moon and Loa and Green, it was agreed.'. Now you just needed to find whether it was Bethekk, Shivallah, or even both who saw and agreed to the dealings.
Shivallah held a shrine on the northernmost peak, overlooking the sea due to defacing some monument built for some unknown loa so you reminded yourself of recently.
Yet, Bethekk took the opposite. In the deepest part of the Shatterspear village, behind where the waterfall met the lake was a cavern carved by her priests using daggers in the shape of claws. In that cavern was a shrine dedicated to Bethekk, and carved directly from the stone of the cave.
Or, so it was told to you by Voriya when you first decided to pray to Bethekk as your Patron, but also when you earned the Goddess' blessing.
The shrine was very dark by the time the proper respects were given. All flames were extinguished except the sole stone brazier between the paws of the panther Goddess' statue, and even that one was little better than embers that enhanced the shadows of the room. You waited patiently as Voriya's hands waved in the air and her whole upper body swayed from where she kneeled on the steps of the shrine.
There was a moment when you could tell the Loa had arrived. It was not so much a sign, as your fur standing on edge. You felt her in the shadows, could feel the loa's gaze turn to you and the priestess. It made you feel small, to be in the presence of the loa. One wrong move or twitch and she would pounce to devour you whole… Gods truly were frightening things, worthy of your prayers…
It was as you blinked that you saw them, laying gracefully across the top of the stone statue made in their image. Between the closing of your eyes and their opening, the spectral panther appeared, the darkness making great strides in hiding the fact the Loa was not there in the flesh. Nevertheless, she gazed down upon you, the weight of the gaze almost made you stumble.
You bowed low and whispered your praise fervently "Ah greet ya', Bethekk the Night's Mistress. I do not call upon ya' presence lightly." The still swaying praying priestess' droning fell into the background as if the very shadows and darkness were hiding the noise from your ears.
Bethekk's head was raised imperiously, a queen upon her throne. "I know you do, Jalo'ki of the Shatterspear. I have watched you for many years, I know you would not come before me, nor call upon me were it not with good reasons." The Panther goddess crossed her paws, eyes peering directly into your soul. "Speak your question, Chieftain. I will answer if I find worth in your words."
You raised from your bow, still kneeling on the cold hard stone. "I would ask of you, the nature of the deal made between the Shatterspear and the Elves." Your words cause the Goddess to shift, her paws uncrossing as she sat up straight where she lay atop the statue. "'Ah 'ave searched the history o' mah people for answers to the deal we made with the elves, where it was said the Loa oversaw an' agreed to the deal. Where you one-"
"DO NOT INSULT ME!" Bethekk's roar was a physical blow that saw you raise your arms instinctually. In a shadowy moment you had no hope to follow the Panther goddess had you on your back, with her claws upon your chest and her teeth inches from your throat. Your eyes widened and you gasped as you locked your gaze with hers, as but a hand separated the two of you. "Do not believe for a moment I would have dealings with dealings with those abhorrent elves!"
The Loa's wrath radiated off of her like a furnace, spreading body paralyzing fear through your body, trapping you under her claws and maw. "Know that were such a question asked from a position other than ignorance, I would have rendered your flesh from your bone and cast you into the sea from which your ancestors emerged!"
The goddess leaned closer, all of her teeth bared to you as a threat, even as she continued to speak. "I know nothing of your dealings with the Elves, but take this warning for I will not deliver you another." The Goddess raised her head away, her yellow eyes the only remains you could see of her shadowed face. "The elves have slaughtered thousands for their vain-glorious pride. They will no doubt do so once more to your Tribe. Do not call upon me again, lest it be to sate my thirst for elf blood."
Bethekk released you, stalking back once more into the shadows as quickly as she arrived, yet the pressure and fear did not leave you. Even as the Priestess hauled you from the shrine it did not leave you. All the way home to the safety of your hut, in every shadow and the corners of your eyes, you felt the gaze of the Night's Mistress.
It was not until morning that you felt safe enough to pass into unconsciousness.

Rolled; 3 - Personal History
Speaking with the Elders of your tribe made you nostalgic and melancholic of your youth sitting upon your father's knee.
He was no great Warrior or Hunter or Witch Doctor, but he always was no farmer. He was a Warrior who always seemed more concerned with the weather than glory or prestige. His jokes always sent you into a giggling fit, while sending him sprawling across the dirt at his hilarity.
Life was simple in those days, play in the mud or lake under the watchful eyes of your grandmother until Father returned home, then more often than not he would join you. Running, playing, throwing mud at each other, your Father was just as much a child in spirit as you were in age. You don't know when it was Father decided you were grown up enough to watch him train with the other warrior, but you do remember clearly how he never lost a bout when you were watching.
You also remembered the fond memories of having beat HIM in your private games of wrestling in the mud.
At least until you made some stupid comment, then he would turn the tables on you and coat you in mud.
"Jalo'ki, ya' be just as strong as ya' pappy!" He would brag to you in the quiet moments between play.
Usually followed by tossing you away and running from your retribution.
You only learned of the encounter after you were awoken from your exhausted sleep by a messenger.
Another Shatterspear patrol met the Elves in the vale, this time having found and identified the tracks themselves. It seems the last time your patrols found them, they had not yet realized where the tracks led. How it was told was no one knew who was more surprised, the Trolls of the Patrol, or the elves. The surprise worked for and against each group, the elves scrambled onto their Hippogryph mounts, while the trolls yelled warcrys and obscenities as Headhunters unleashed spears upon the trespassing elves. It was by the skin of the Elves' teeth that they managed to escape before blood could be drawn.
But now the Tribe knows for certain it is elves. There could be no more hiding or arguing that it was yet another mysterious animal who fell from the tree.
AN: Sorry again for the delay on this, we're bout a turn behind schedule now, but I'll do my best to keep the daily posting going strong again.
EDIT: The worst part is I could have finished and then posted the turn because the entire day got rained out horribly. Alas, what can ya do.
right, well with our Patron Loa's anger and the fact these Elves are clearly trespassing and going against the laws they themselves set up. I say it's time we start taking action
The start of the fall season comes with a headache. The Tribe now knows for certain the Elves ARE trespassing, hunting SOMETHING that has entered your vale. They demand action and you're silently scrambling for some stability in all of this mess!
Perhaps the only good thing is the young and old alike find your presence a great boon. The children love their stories and the Elder thinks you are respectable… but Krah'ranik is angry at you, the Headhunters have a horrible impression of you, but worst of all BETHEKK is angered at your questioning…
Who was even the last person to offend the Loa in such a way…
Perhaps it's a boon you are ignorant of Jor'kill and the Warrior's impressions of you… Very much the same with the Witch Doctors…
Regardless of your desperate prayers, wishes, and worries, you are still Chieftain. The Tribe will only move if you allow them to. Do they wish for action? Fine. You can give them action. War need not be the first action done, after all. Scouting, preparation, things to direct the anger of the tribe until you can truly direct the tribe… Perhaps it might even mollify them if you redirect them for long enough…? Maybe if you could stop offending everyone you speak to…
It is now Fall, harvest is underway and you aren't needed for that. But if you truly do plan to set out to war, do you risk the Fall and Winter weather? It might be the worst time to set off into war, yet the advantage of surprise would be on your side…
You could also attend the Festival of Arrival to honor your ancestors settling the Vale… You are Chieftain, and you will be attending regardless, but the question is whether or not you will seek out a Mate during it…
Why oh Why, in the name of the Loa were you declared Chieftain…
Actions:
You may use any number of Dice from for actions, with a minimum number of 1 (Excluding Initiating War). As Chieftain of the tribe, you are not only responsible for these actions being done, you are also expected to at least oversee it being done. Once Proven, delegation becomes a great deal easier.
Might Actions - Either Military or Labor intensive actions - 2 Dice Remaining
[ ] The Time of Axe and Spear (Free Action) - It is time to set out… You have decided it is time to defend your homeland. The Tribe is angered and supports you, +3 Successes to all military Might actions.
[ ] Sharpen Axes (2 Successes Needed) - The Warriors of the Shatterspear have long seen disuse even by your own impressive recollection. Though inexperience, the training regimen of hundreds of years has seen them still sharp. They need only the proper weapons.
[ ] Spears of the Unshattered Kind (2 Successes Needed) - The Headhunters of the Shatterspear have proven their usefulness in succeeding to find the presence of elves and the tracks of the beast that now stalks your lands. Though they were less than pleased by your previous actions, you still do require spears for their hands.
[ ] Stock up Greens (2 Successes Needed) - The Witch Doctors usually keep a good stock of their alchemical ingredients, claiming several areas around the various dips and dives of the mountains to grow their own stocks. Yet, if war is to happen you will most definitely need a stockpile for healing and enhancing the Warriors of your Tribe.
[ ] Stocking up the Bare Necessities (2 Successes Needed) - Your people mainly survive off a great deal of gathered foods from the jungle surrounding them. Fruits, Nuts, roots, Vegetables, plus the obvious Maize and Rice grown along the mountainsides, and the almost endless amount of freshwater fish that live in the lakes. Stock up on these foods and ensure your people are prepared to weather whatever storm is approaching them.
[ ] A Village Given Time (4 Successes Needed) - Almost once a generation, except once three centuries previously due to a particularly egregious case of alcohol poisoning that saw it done twice in a year, the houses and supports of the Village are seen too and repaired as they age, deconstructing before raising them back up. If you are to head to war, you will need to pre-emptively do this as much of your Labor will be fighting.
[ ] Reinforce the Village (6 Successes Needed) - With there clearly being something inside the jungle and mountains alongside the trolls, it is unclear if it is dangerous or not. Not to mention the fact this entire situation could spiral into conflict depending on the action of the Elves or the reaction of the village once it becomes common knowledge there is something stalking the hill. The headhunters have sworn upon the Loa to secrecy, the matter still remains it will get out eventually regardless.
Mind Actions - Used to find a solution to a problem - 4 Dice Remaining
[ ] Drama's An Old Friend (Free) - You are a well known face with the Elders of the tribe, and are more than welcome to participate in the Gossip Mongering that they love oh so much.
(Note: The 1 dice used to activate this isn't to see if it succeeds, but to see what has happened inside the tribe)
[ ] Sound Off, Who's Ready For Blood (1 Success Needed) - With the Tribe ready to spill some elven Blood, with Bethekk much in the same camp, you should do some investigating of your own. What all can the Tribe bring to bare, are there any you do not know of that stand above their fellows? If there are, now is a REALLY good time to see if they're still among the Warriors and Headhunters, or if they could be convinced to join one of the two.
[ ] The Tribe's Troubles (3 Successes Needed) - The Shatterspear Tribe always brings all they collect, whether it is wood, food, supplies, and anything else not on the minimalist levels or not directly requested from a Witch Doctor's own gardens to present to the Chieftain and so they may distribute it. A long held system, but unless you're fully aware of all the ins and outs of where resources are needed, it is a bit of a wasted effort. Find out where best to direct your Tribe's resources.
[ ] The Hunt For Answers (4 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - Thanks to a close encounter from the tribe's patrolling Headhunters, it is clear the Elves are attempting to track something that has moved deeper into the Vale. While you cannot be certain what those elves will do, if they'll enter irregardless of the pact you made with the Elves long ago, the fact of the matter is there is something in YOUR jungle. Find it.
[ ] Trespassing Elves (4 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - Everyone in the village is well aware of the Elves that are getting ever closer. Whether they hear it from the worried gossipers or directly from the Headhunters and Warriors who find ever increasing signs. But the Why of it is completely missing. You set out with some Headhunters to see if you can find out why.
[ ] The Other Side of the Mountain (4 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - With the Elves getting ever closer to the heart of Shatterspear lands, the question remains that the Tribe has no knowledge of what is happening within the Elf lands. Answers must be found, no matter the stance taken. Take some Headhunters and find exactly what is happening.
Moxie Action - Things that require diplomacy or dealing with other - 3 Dice Remaining
[ ] A Change of Ways (1 Success Needed) - With your ascension into the position of Chieftain you now stand atop a trip who is directionless. Direct them. Tell them what they must do for preparation for the future. Yet the Trolls of your tribe will eventually grow weary if you spend too long, or disaster can occur, in a differing footing from their traditional ways if spent without good cause.
- [ ] War Footing - Tell the Tribe to prepare for war. Families will begin stockpiling supplies, Artisans will begin preparing for orders of weapons, and Witch Doctors will begin preparations for more elixirs and potions. - Adds +3 Successes to Non-Military Might actions
- [ ] Stockpile Footing - Tell the Tribe to stock up on all they can. The tribe collectively will begin hoarding supplies and resources either given, gathered, or made by their own hands. Often these times require rationing, so the tribe will be prepared for the worst of it. - Adds +3 Successes to Preparation actions
- [ ] Production Footing - Tell the Tribe to collect and produce raw material ready to be used for a large project of some kind. Whether it is stone, wood, or some other material needed, the tribe will rally and assist in the collection of that material to assist the village. - Adds +3 Successes to Collection Actions
- [X]Peacetime Footing - The Tribe continues as it ever has. - No Added Successes
[ ]Go and Meet the Family (1 Success Needed) - The Shatterspear is a tight knit group of trolls. Everyone knows everyone, even if it's only by reputation or through a friend of a friend. In truth, if you go back far enough, everyone is related to everyone. You've now met the Children and Elders of the tribe.
[ ]Mend the Divide - You have successfully identified where exactly this strange divide within the clan is happening, and it's almost down Headhunter and Warrior lines with the rest of the tribe split between them. Yet you could very well end this before it grows out of control.
[ ] Approach Krah'Ranik - Approach the leader of the Headhunters within the Shatterspear. He clearly is more worried about saving the lives of trolls rather than setting out to war. Maybe you could convince him to come to your side?
Will only stop if Jor'kill stops first.
[ ] Approach Jor'Killl - Approach the leader of the Warriors within the Shatterspear. Jor'kill is clearly all about retaliating against the Elves who even now are getting even deeper into the vale, then who knows what the young troll will do? Perhaps you can mollify him with actions, or direction.
[ ]Envoy For Answers (3 Successes Needed) - The answer is quite clear, if the Elves are encroached upon your people's lands answers must be sought out. Approach the elves directly, hopefully with some signs of peace. Establish communication to the nearest elves within the forests west of the Vale.
[ ]Matters of the Faith (3 Successes Needed) - Your people have only two loa to which they pray. Each is honored equally and some given proper respect amidst the Tribe. Nevertheless, speaking on the matters of the Loa will give some insights into the people, why they prey on each loa in particular. Every troll has their own reasons to praying towards these great protectors of your people.
Prayer Actions - Related directly to the Loa of your people. As Chieftain, they might just respond.
[ ] Pray to Bethekk - Ask the Panther Goddess for her guidance for an action (1 Turn Cooldown) - [ ] What Action?
Unavailable until called upon on a Might Action against an Elven Faction
[ ] Pray to Shivallah - Ask for the Tiger Goddess for her Guidance (1 Turn Cooldown)
- [ ] What Action?
[ ] A Bargain Struck - With the revelation that a Loa oversaw the deal with the Elves, it is time to go and speak with the Loa about said deal. While the histories speak in vague words, the Loa might yet be able to recall the meeting in better detail. Ask them, and see what they say.
(Disclaimer: Unable to be used in the same turn you use a Prayer Action, and cannot Use a prayer on this)
[ ] Speak with Shivallah (2 dice of your choice)
[ ] Speak with Bethekk (2 dice of your Choice
[ ] Speak with Both at the same time (4 Dice of your Choice)
Personal Action - You are not always managing your people. Sometimes you simply have matters of your own you wish to partake, or simply relax.
[X] Attend the Festival of Arrival - As chieftain you have a duty to oversee these with the exceptions of War or some other emergency that does not allow you to participate. Assuming you are not leading the tribe off to War, the next question is if you will try to find a Mate or lover during the festival…
(Disclaimer: This will not take up your Personal Action, unless you decide to use the opportunity to find a Mate and/or Lover)
- [ ] Find a Mate
- [ ] Find a Lover
[ ] Sort your Memories and Oral tales. What? It can be a Job AND hobby. No Master, I am not obsessed-
[ ] Move Into the Chieftain's Home - For as long as you've known, your home was a part of one of the many hills of the Vale where you live alongside your Master. It was the best place away from the Waterfall that dominated the main Valley the Shatterspear lived in. But you are the Chieftain, and the abode at the very top next to the lip of the waterfall is by far the best view and the best to receive your people… But your scrolls and tablets…

I wanted to play to our strengths as much as possible, while doing something that any troll can point to as us successfully leading and dealing with the elf problem while preparing for winter.
- [ ] Production Footing - Tell the Tribe to collect and produce raw material ready to be used for a large project of some kind. Just for Clarification reasons, though you are the Chieftain of the Shatterspear trolls, things like Harvest or preparation for Winter are not something you need to order. The Trolls themselves will handle that sort of thing.
Production is for getting ready for some sort of expansion or monument in that they'll prepare large amount of stone or wood or whatever for use in making things
Stockpile is something like getting ready for a scarcity of some sort or for a siege.
And then obviously the War footing has the tribe get ready for war. Preparing paints for Warmasks, potions, resources, the Civilians getting ready to handle the homefront with knowledge the warriors won't be around to assist in labor, knowing the head hunters won't be bringing in surplus so rationing will start to make supplies last, etc etc.

The point is to prepare to not have labor available in the future, and to have more than the bare necessities now. It a way to channel the tribes need to "do something" in a way that causes the least harm and the most good. It's easy to look at a full larder and say "now our headhunters can't focus on scouting more and forage less" or "our warriors can train harder with a surplus of herbal remedies" especially in the context of "meanwhile I'm hunting down the perfidious elves and the "monster" they are tracking"
Next turn we can prepare for war, and shove through the spears and axes comfortable with their nearly assured success.
When the mechanics work so that failures cancels out successes, efforts becomes pointless as an extra die of effort has an equal chance to cancel out progress as adding to it. This makes the expected progress, excluding autosuccesses from stats, zero no matter how many dice are invested.
Additionally, the more effort put into an action, and therefore the more dice are invested, the higher chance that the progress is zero, as that is the mean.
I persume this is feature to demonstrate the futility of statecraft in a tribal society.
Edit edit: I had a giant explanation about the reason for the quest being a d6 system and uNot-based off the CK2 system before I realized this isn't exactly the place for it.
Fill free to message me and I'll share it.
Sorry for anyone who got a ghost ping or saw that giant wall of text.
I can see that, and you are foc free to run you story however you wish. I just wanted to make sure you, and all the participants here, were aware of the consequences of the mechanics you have chosen to implement. Because i believe it undermines the choices of the players, and then why participate at all? Make use of, and design, your quest mechanics to incentivize the playstyle you want to see in your story.
With the existing mechanics, if i have understood them correctly, we are pushed towards making plans that spreads out the dice as much as possible, making maximum use of the autosuccesses. Doing everything at once and never using more than one die per action, taking things slow. I would think that would make for a more slow and meticulous story than the wacky fun you are looking for.
I see some of your point about the CK2-system. It can be very swingy and out more emphasis on dice than skills when normal skill bonuses are in the +-5 range and the die is 100-sided, but i disagree that everyone can do anything. The filter for skill and ability in that system comes i which options the QM choose to present to the players. The QM should not present options that they believe the character would not in any way do.
