Not the update, sadly, but I do have it done I just came to tell that it will be a few days more.
I'm going to have the Interlude out, update the last turn result with the proper result because I miscounted the successes of it, and also have the map for the War up all around the same time, but I'm suffering irl Action Point problems. (Sadly a mandatory 75% was with sleep and work and foraging for food as Authors are won't to do. The GM of IRL very unfair in that regard)
The quest is not going anywhere, I'm just being a tad ambitious and require a smidge more time, so I do apologize for the delays.
Thank all you wonderful people for your understanding and patience.
I'll delete this post just before I post the Interlude.
EDIT: Funfact, did you know you can't delete posts? I sure didn't!
The moon shone brightly in the sky, illuminating these early spring days. Her glory shines across the entirety of these Troll lands. No mountain, stone, shade, or stream hides that glory from her—none save the wooden ceiling over her head and the walls around her body. She was a prisoner, within a cage, within a prison, actually, yet even here, Elune's light shone. Below, casting her light just beneath her feet, almost comfortingly.
Almost.
She kneels in prayer as she did most nights since the second attack upon the troll village… Attack… As if it weren't another rescue attempt… For all the trolls were angered by it and considered it such… It was but another attempt to save her. To escape with her. To see her to safety.
She remembers it clearly: the Sentinels attempted to free Avathea, who demanded Nyrilin be freed first, only to plummet to death with fear-filled screams as the Sentinels tried to force the cage open.
Of Nahara, who was going through the process of how trolls opened the cages, only for hers to be shunted into free fall by a dying troll's axe through her rope. The cries of fear haunted her as well, seemingly echoing through her ears constantly.
Her hands shook, locked together in prayer as they were. Eyes squeezed tight to remain dry.
But it wasn't only the loss of Elves alone she prayed for.
The troll Oh'than an arrow through his throat as he struggled to stand and defend her and stop the Sentinels… Of them all, Nyrilin knew him longest, having been amidst the first to be warden over her, having been the one to drag his friend down to the ground in their mock attempts of a rescue attempt.
He was also by far the kindest. For all he seemingly disdained her, he did not seemingly hate her. Or her fellows in this prison. I learned his name and spoke to him through charades, as neither could understand a word of another. No longer would he kindly slip her extra portions of fruit…No longer would he tell her funny stories, only he understood and calmly explained things as he fetched women to assist in her needs, or lash out at other guards who disrespected her?
Was it strange? She grieved over his death more than her fellow elves. Indeed, that was wrong… Perhaps… She had considered him a friend? Or a guardian? Within this village, surrounded by trolls who hated her and spat at her… He seemed to protect her from it all.
She didn't know.
Maybe she just grieved because he was a sign the trolls did not have to be their enemies.
It was all her fault that the Sentinels struck against the trolls. That these Hippogryph scouts had been brutalized and captured. That the Trolls now roared in anger at an enemy that should not BE an enemy.
It was her fault.
But she dared not cry. For the other elves here, they relied on her more than they should. She was barely out of her apprenticeship, yet they believed in her and Elune's guidance to see them home. She could not cry because that would show the cracks.
So she prayed, praying for all the tears she could not weep, mourning the peace she had ruined with her ignorant actions.
The moon shone brightly in the sky, illuminating these early spring days, her glory shining across the entirety of these Kaldorei lands. No tree, cloud, shadow, or light hides that glory from her. She stood upon the wooden dock, gazing up at Elune hanging within the sky, with only her thinnest dress protecting her modesty. She stood before Elune, feeling the Goddess' eyes upon her as they were upon all Kaldorei who walked amidst the Moon's glow. She came here in desperate prayer.
It was that evening when they told the fate of Starbreeze's rescue attempt of the devastation enlisted upon Elf and Troll alike. A third of their force was wounded, killed, or missing.
Unknown of Trolls slain or wounded.
Only the knowledge of Nyrilin's location was confirmed… No doubt Barithras' retreat into his workshop was because of his fears for his daughter.
Yet, most dire of all, the Satyrs were throwing their lot in with the Trolls. Whether the Trolls knew or not, she could not say, yet she prayed it indeed wasn't. Trolls were terrible enough, ending their millennia-old pact, but to damn themselves?
The Satyrs and Trolls could very well force them out of their homes. For that, she dearly prayed it was simply not true.
She prayed to Elune that the worst would not come to pass, that she and her friend and family would not be driven from these lands, and that the Satyr were merely taking advantage of a situation.
She prayed Nyrillin would return swiftly. She prayed Starbreeze might yet succeed or that some Sentinel would return with word of successfully freeing their people. But most of all, she prayed for Elune's wrath upon both the Trolls and Satyr if their accursed alliance were true. She prayed it was simply two different enemies and not one.
Gwennyth dared not think of the possibility; less, it became true.
The moon shone brightly in the sky, illuminating these early spring days. Her glory shines across the entirety of these Kaldorei lands. Nordrassil nor Hyjal, discord nor obligation hides that glory from her. She stood upon a cliff edge and sat with Ash'alah resting at her side. Above her, Elune shined her grace upon the world, illuminating all of Ashenvale and Hyjal and far beyond with the force of her full moon. She sighed, weariness of a day spent ruling over the Kaldorei, heart pining for her beloved lost into the duties of sleep. Yet, these nightly prayers did much to alleviate her weariness, Elune's healing hands washing away the deepest of aches.
Physical and of the heart.
She basked in the feeling of Elune's guidance, of the calm winds blowing across the cliff face, of the soothing feeling of Ash'alah's fur against her hand and cheek as she laid upon her. Her hand trailed lightly, the purring Frostsaber enjoying the petting for what it was. For a moment, she could forget all her worries, her aches, and the pains of ruling over her people.
Only for a moment.
Then, her mind slowly spun a new problem amidst her mind, turning her small smile into a calculating frown.
Those Sentinels in the east have reported sighting the Satyr moving about in the shadows once more, testing the edges of Ashenvale from Ashara, where they've long hidden their strongholds. It could be yet another attempt from the Satyr to strike out. Ever since their strength broke in the War of the Satyr, they have been nothing but knives in the dark, only ever striking out against lone Elves and never showing their faces where the Kaldorei were strong.
It was then worrying they were so brazenly showing themselves… It would mean they've some new leader who rallied them, or perhaps the Legion might be waxing in influence. It could be that they found some artifact of the Highborn…
Perhaps she should send Shandris East to investigate… Or she could go herself…
She would almost certainly be sending messages to the edges of Kaldorei lands. Feralis, Darkshore, Moonglade… Perhaps she… No.
She shook her head at the mere thought. She should confirm if this is genuinely a more profound problem rather than some upstart Satyr.
It would simply not do to awaken the Druids with no warning.
So relaxed was she that Tyrande yawned deeply, snuggling deeply into the purring Ash'alah, and passed into sleep herself.
Elune looked down upon these three Priestesses of her chosen people and shined ever brilliantly in the sky.
AN: Apologies for the 2 week delay on this stupid thing, I had a typical writing problem where I knew what I wanted to write yet it was a complete and utter slog to do. Just refused to write properly. Student Subvote will be out just before I leave for work or just after I get home, so expect it round the normal time.
You watched for some time as Elves came and went from the camp, hunkering down and biding time as the sun crossed the sky slowly. Twice, you saw an elf atop a great cat patrol the outer perimeter a few times. It was clearly some sort of leader with the difference given, but they, too, passed. Using the Darnassian you painstakingly cultivated, you picked up some snatches and bits of conversation from the elves, but even then, they were curt and tight-lipped after the battle. Nursing wounds, you'd call it.
That which you did catch, however, was mainly in the same vein. 'Betrayers,' 'Knives in the dark,' and 'Elune curse them.'
It incensed you to be called a 'Traitor' when your people did none of the sort. Yet still, you directed the Headhunters elsewhere.
It took most of the rest of the day, retreating from the camp to take a long arc around to the other side of the camp, putting you between the camp and the Elf lands. Dodging more than two other patrols in your path, yet even when you arrived, you had yourself and the Headhunters scale some trees to look down into the camp.
Perhaps it would have been better for your mind if you hadn't seen multiple giant trees with arms and eyes and a mouth assisting in the day-to-day labor of the camp. One even had tusks! TUSKS! Regardless of that, the three trees each held duties around the camp: one assisting glowing lights do something with trees, one was seemingly caring for the Hyppogrphs that nested amidst its branches and roots, and the final one was overseeing plans with the elf warriors! More than once, you saw the leader atop its great cat actually seeming to defer to its judgment!
No wonder your people decided to stay in the vale; the Elves were starkly raving MAD!
You almost fell from the tree at that revelation, yet just as you were going to order the retreat to the vale, you felt it. A presence you're becoming familiar with directs your gaze back to the wounded. The wounded elves lay on cots or bedding, wounded from slashes, tusks, and javelin wounds clear as day. Perhaps, if not for Shirvallah's intervention, you would not have given them a second glance. It took you longer than it should have, and if she had not directed your attention, you certainly would not have noticed the more minor wounds, smaller details of the groaning, pained elves.
Your eyes trailed over some, noting the various places the elves were wounded—shoulders and arms mostly, and torsos, in the cases of Javelin wounds you could recognize. But then you noticed something else, lower down on their legs and abdomens, wounds that almost looked like a troll thrust their tusks into them. But that made very little sense, as trolls towered over these elves. It would be rare for those wounds to appear unless they were knocked to the ground and did so in desperation... But they seemed far too frequently on the elves to merely be tusk wounds.
That's when it clicked in your head. They weren't wounds given by trolls.
Once you made that connection, your eyes trailed over many others, finding similar wounds, of long raking wounds drawn across their body. Blows that could have been axe wounds in your mind, but as you compare them to the axes you helped make, you realize the differences in blades. These were made by knives, by... Maybe even talons.
Then, your gaze turned into a glare.
Zalan went behind your back.
[Elf presence confirmed in the Lowlands, however they will be gone by the end of winter]
[Elf Force was merely a strike force of some kind, and not permanent to the area]
[Elves have sentient talking trees???]
[Prayer to Shirballah Activated, Additional Information; Satyr's have attacked Elf Force at some point in time, either ambushing patrols or the entire force]
[Jor'kill continues to avoid you, and it has angered you greatly]
-[X] Apprentice in Need (? Successes Needed)(You may use any number of Moxie dice for this action) - With the oncoming war and the reveal of your order's legacy, it struck you that you would need an apprentice. Now was hardly the time for such, but you cannot guarantee you would survive this war, even if you stayed safe and sound within the village. Already, an attack has happened to it, and there is no telling if there won't be another. You, being chieftain, are prime material for being slain to sow discord amidst your people. No, you cannot put this off despite how much time and attention an apprentice would take. Find one, teach one, at the very least the basics so your order can continue. (2 Moxie Dice)
You spent the Winter doing two things; seething your anger at Jor'kill for his avoidance, and searching for a student. Of the two, your revenge against Jor'kill was remarkably more successful. Your revenge so complete, you still had the dyes and inks stained into your tusks; hence the part of the whole notion that it was not to be undertaken lightly. What could not be called successful was your prospects for aspiring apprentices.
The Wave-Riders were hardly the ones most children thought they'd like to be at the best of times, most often wished to follow in the steps of the most spectacular, Warriors, Headhunters, the occasional Witch-Doctor, LOTS wanting to be Chieftains obviously. So when you sat down several groups of children of various ages to tell them stories as your Order was to do, you paid attention.
Stories expounding the ideals of your tribe, family, rivalries, growing your craft, you paid attention to those who listened.
When you told tales of the small number of heroes and tall tales your people had, always popular, you watched once more.
Even when you spoke at length of a Troll's duty to their tribe, you caught several eyes.
By the end, you had narrowed down enough to be sure of two choices..
1st Roll; 2
Ki'ka - Born Fall 996 AV - Age 10 Years Old - Body Traits; Flexible (+1 Intrigue Rolls), Intelligent (+1 Mind Rolls), Small (+1 Intrigue Rolls) - Motivation; Spite
Ki'ka is one of those troublemakers who would surely grow out of their streak eventually, she bit and spat at nearly anyone who so much as gave her the odd eye or glance. In that you were alike, but unlike you, her anger came from a much more real place than simply argumentative youth. Of her family, she was by far the shortest and smallest of them all, her family towering high amidst the tribe. A tid bit of investigating on your end, it became clear it was a matter Sibling rivalries and mockeries had led to a burning coal of a youth who bit every hand that offered a smattering of kindness.
The reason she came to your attention was the startling ability of her to sniff out exactly what you were doing over the course of the winter. She was amidst your first group as you were going through the children and adolescents of the tribe, and it seemed as if that single lesson had peaked her suspicions.
The subsequent appearances in later stories only fueled the flame of Ki'ka.
There was an intelligence to her, obviously, but also a good knack for finding the clearly hidden things. It was a challenge to her, a competition, that she figured out your plans clearly had given her a grim satisfaction. If it were a knife, she most likely stabbed a sibling with it.
She was a dangerous girl, but she has the potential. Ki'ka would especially require a firm hand, the bedrock is sound, but there is an ember in her that would threaten to burn down that same foundation. If all else fails, you could most certainly find her a place amidst Bethekk or perhaps the Headhunters… But there is temptation, as an Apprentice.
2nd Roll; 1
Jakusa - Born Summer 991 AV - Age 15 Years Old - Body Traits; Dire Troll (+4 Might Rolls, +4 Endurance Rolls, +2 Failures Mind Rolls), Friendly (+1 Moxie Rolls), Kind (+1 Moxie Rolls) - Motivation; Knowledge
Jakusa, at first, seems a horrible poor fit for the role of Wave-Rider. He is a Dire Troll, and like his kin, his head is simply too small for his brain and it causes them great difficulties in thinking. Yet, in spite of such, Jakusa is remarkably friendly and kind to any and all, from the youngest unnamed child, to the grouchiest of Elder. When you inquired of him, you found no one had ever said a poor thing about the boy. It even became clear when you questioned his father and mother, the boy would refuse to harm a tick if it found its way into his fur.
He even seeks to become a craftsman, yet his hands lack the dexterity and his mind lacks the cunning to work around it. He is your classic tale of a gentle giant, but none of that is what drew you to the young boy.
There is a glint in his eye, one you would recognize in the mirroring surface of water, as one you yourself have. The thirst for knowledge, if of differing breed. A great deal of a Wave-Rider's job is memorization alongside telling the tale as vividly as one could muster. In these regards, he would serve fine, but it was knowing what to recall, and where to look.
You can train him to do most, but that last part will haunt his steps unless he manages to handle his difficulties.
(Unavailable to be picked after Fall, as another will take him as an apprentice)
Krah'ranik turned his gaze from the colored bark spread across the table between the two of you to meet your eyes with a raised bro. You smothered the embarrassment you felt at some of the details you… May… Possibly… Have left there… Hardly pertinent for a warrior, but important from your stance as a Wave-Rider.
For what its worth, Jor'kill leaned over Krah'ranik's shoulder and seemed to be considering your… Personal markings on the map… Then again, Jor'kill has been trying to poke his head into whatever you were doing lately, not including the very real fact he's been taking every chance to return to the village from the gate… You will need to have a talk with him about it.
It was not long until Krah'ranik moved past it, outlining the plan for the two Troll forces to splinter off and begin seizing the Lowlands like two great jaws.
Actions:
You may use any number of Dice from for actions, with a minimum number of 1 (Excluding Initiating War and a few select others). As Chieftain of the tribe, you are not only responsible for these actions being done, you are also expected to at least oversee it being done.
When Delegating actions, at least 1 Dice of the required dice action to delegate that Troll to their action, and your 1 dice is used to signify where you influence as chieftain is going. Until such a time as you recall them from the action using 1 dice or they complete the action.
Might Actions - Either Military or Labor intensive actions - 4 2 Dice Remaining
[x] A Bloody Age, a Hunter's Age (Ongoing) - Military - Combat - Krah'ranik was selected to be your Warleader for the War ahead, for all his blustering and age, he has agreed to lead your people for a few years at the least. With this, Krah'ranik will be taking over half the total Warriors and Headhunters, leaving behind enough to cover the Gate and Vale should it come under attack. +4 Successes to All Millitary Might Actions
- [x] Krah'Ranik Delegated - 1 Might Die
[ ] Built to Order (Variable Successes Required) - With your new understanding of exactly the inner machinations of the village distribution system and with it all laid out before you, you realized exactly what you have been missing this entire time. Knowledge of where exactly to send things to have other things built. Sure, you had Headhunters whittling their own spears, and Warriors more often than now training with old dulled wood or stone axes, but with the village laid out before you, you can now see their equipment become a reality. Perhaps, even a weapon fit for a chieftain…
- [ ] See Fit To Maintenance (1 Success Required) - Preparation - With your distribution of weapons to the Warriors and Headhunters, there is always the need to do upkeep on those weapons. The warriors may do their own, but you never know when you might need to replace a blade or distribute more spears. Alternatively, you could attempt to just simply replace them.
- [ ] Do you replace any? If so What?
- [ ] Craftsmanship Worthy of the Name (Variable Successes Required) - Alongside knowing what goes into outfitting your Warriors and Headhunters, you now know you could order the creation of something worthy of your position. With war starting in earnest, you could order armor, weapons, or anything you could possibly think up or remember. But what's more, if you find special materials outside the norm, you could even craft an item of greater quality.
- [ ] Write In; What are you making?
[ ] Ordered to Build - preparation - With your new understanding of exactly the inner machinations of the village distribution system and with it all laid out before you, you realized exactly what you have been missing this entire time. Knowledge of where exactly to send things to have other things built. Taking what you know of your village's ability to build, craft, and how to get things they need to them and use it to construct something grand, maybe a monument, a new shrine, perhaps even some sort of arena! The possibilities are endless, all you have to do is put your mind to it.
- [ ] Write In?
[x] A Guard for a Gate (0 Successes Needed) - Combat - Military - Jor'kills taking and reinforcement of the Pass, constructing the Shattershield Gate in the process, has made it a veritable strongpoint that stops all but those able to fly, or those small parties able to find the far more dangerous paths through the mountains. Alongside the headhunter Patrols, the gate serves a greater purpose as being the first stepping point in defending the totality of the vale. It simply needs a Garrison Commander to lead the Warriors.
- [x] Jor'kill Delegated - 1 Might Dice
[ ] To Feed Them, To Gift Them (2 Successes Needed) - With Krah'Ranik leading the war effort, you are needed to ensure his forces are receiving the Food and Weapons they'll need to upkeep the war. Part of this is organizing the Laborers and Warrior Headhunter escorts through the mountains and down to their known drop points with the supplies. It will not be a joyous task, but it needs to be done sometime.
[ ] A Lover's Embrace (2 Successes Needed) - It's been over a year since you found three especially gifted trolls amidst the tribe. Shoni, who by all accounts you've overheard is settling nicely into his apprenticeship beneath Jory Zaga. Then there are Toljiar and Junjie. Shirvallah's guidance took you to them, finding the love struck couple sneaking away with enough skill it surprised you. But now war has arrived, and Krah'ranik has asked you to decide so he can account for them and see they're trained as Headhunters if that was your choice.
- [ ] A Chieftain's Guard - Have the two become the first members of your elite bodyguard. You aren't martially inclined with very minimal training, but these two would certainly make good shields in a pinch.
- [ ] Hunterkillers - Turn these two into your own personal killers in the dark, having them focus even further into their ability to sneak around to arrive unnoticed and spear their targets to death.
- [ ] A Champion's A Champion - The end of the day, you can never have enough talented individuals to lead the headhunters, especially since you're about to head directly into a war if things do not change soon. Krah'ranik will train them for Leadership and War leading
- [ ] Write In?
[ ] A Village Given Time (4 Successes Needed) - Preparation - Almost once a generation, except once three centuries previously due to a particularly egregious case of alcohol poisoning that saw it done twice in a year, the houses and supports of the Village are seen too and repaired as they age, deconstructing before raising them back up. If you are to head to war, you will need to pre-emptively do this as much of your Labor will be fighting.
[ ] Reinforce the Village (6 Successes Needed) - Preparation - A protective measure taken far too late, for the elves have attacked your home in force, seeing many warriors died or wounded in defense. Perhaps had you made these preparations, you could have saved many more lives, perhaps the need to hold them at the edge of the village would have not been needed. The dead are dead, and nothing will change that, but there is still a war to be fought. Reinforce the village,
[ ] Scour the Vale (? Successes Needed) - 2/3rd of the Vale Confirmed Clear - Combat - Military - In the aftermath of the battle for Shatterspear Village, the rout and the pursuit of the elves from the vale was a horribly messy affair, as both trolls and elves were caught up in the chaos of the night as they tried to flee the troll's wrath, while the trolls themselves were consumed in their bloodlust. In that rout, the Trolls cannot confirm whether or not the elves were truly forced from the vale. Send out your warriors and headhunters, search the vale high and low for those who might yet be within your jungle. The Headhunter will need to ensure the Vale is clear before their new patrol route can properly be used.
Mind Actions - Used to find a solution to a problem - 7 Dice Remaining
[ ] Drama's An Old Friend (Free) - You are a well known face with the Elders of the tribe, and are more than welcome to participate in the Gossip Mongering that they love oh so much.
(Note: The 1 dice used to activate this isn't to see if it succeeds, but to see what has happened inside the tribe)
[ ] Fix Me A Dream (Variable Successes Needed) - Preparation - Nominally, the Witch Doctors and their apprentices fall outside of your knowledge of the Tribe's internals, but you know enough about their stores by now and vaguely aware of what they can and cannot produce. It would be as simple as to request from them a specific potion or some sort of elixir to see if they could produce such. Plus if you do manage to gather some exotic ingredients, surely that will allow the Witch Doctors to brew greater creations.
- [ ] Write In
[ ] A Witch Doctor's Airways (2 Successes Needed) - Over a year ago you went about and searched through the village for those rare talents that weren't picked up by the wider tribe. With that searching, you came across Shani who despite being a bit strange even by Witch Doctor standards, still holds a unique ability. Meet with the boy, pick his brain, and see if you cannot think of a good role for him within the tribe. He is already well underway in his training, his unique abilities may make your job all the easier in the long run.
[ ] A Wave-Rider's Duty (3 Success Needed) - Research - The Battle for Shatterspear Village was a brutal and bloody affair, yet you are the Wave-Rider and chief of the tribe. You have your duties multiplied with this attack, so you must do your duty. Go and gather the lore of the battle, and compile it to ensure that which is needed to be remembered is remembered. For all those who come after you… While you are at it, prepare to compile everything about this war soon to consume your time. This list will only ever get longer it seems…
[ ] Lay the Foundation (4 3 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - The Mask speaks of island far to the north, speaking of them as the origination of your people within these lands… Yet, to reach there you will need a ship. With a war underway, it is unclear if you can truly spare the resources… No, you are Chieftain. You will command the Tribe to bring you wood and laborers, and you will construct a small personal ship for yourself and some guards. You WILL uncover the history of your tribe. (WARNING: Motivation: Glory is in effect on this action. You will suffer +2 Failures on all other actions not delegated if this is not taken)
[ ] An Elf's Secret (5 Successes Needed) - Research - The elves somehow managed to bypass your people's defenses and get near enough to the center of the village before being detected. Even the trolls who fought the elves swear up and down the elves seemingly disappeared into thin air at times only to reappear when fighting back. Unleash the Witch Doctors and their voodoo upon the corpses of the elves, and see what can yet be found. The longer you wait, the less fresh the corpses, already the rot of their unpreserved bodies is kept mostly to containers and clay pots.
(Note: +2 to Successes Needed every 2 seasons)
- [ ] Use a Captive - Gives +2 Successes automatically - Slays 1 of 4 Captive Hippogryph Elves
- [ ] Use Multiple Captives - How many? (+2 Successes Each)
[ ] A Mask to Hide Yourself (5 Successes Needed) - The legacy of the Wave-Riders is a mastercrafted Mask that gives you insight into the life of a troll you have never known nor seen in your life. Playing out events of a city that stole your breath and you believe that such could have ever existed… Yet you don't understand how that was possible. Take it, unveil this secret of your order and bring it to Jory Zaga the eldest and most knowledgeable witch doctor in the village. Find out the inner workings of this mojo.
[ ] The Other Side of the Mountain (? Successes Needed) - Intrigue - You set out once before and found great success prowling the lowlands, now with Headhunters and Warriors flooding the Lowlands, it might be time for a subtler approach. While Krah'ranik gathers the forceful knowledge, you shall slip into the unknown of Elf lands and find and gather what is not so easily found from the butt of the spear.
Moxie Action - Things that require diplomacy or dealing with other - 4 Dice Remaining
[ ] Release the Prisoner(s) (No Dice Needed) - This option is no longer a mere matter of attempting to stop a war, it is now a desperate measure. That maybe if you return all the elves you have captured, you might yet end this war. But that would turn your people against you, it might not even stop the outpour of anger and hate from both sides.
[ ] A Change of Ways (1 Success Needed) - With your ascension into the position of Chieftain you now stand atop a trip who is directionless. Direct them. Tell them what they must do for preparation for the future. Yet the Trolls of your tribe will eventually grow weary if you spend too long, or disaster can occur, in a differing footing from their traditional ways if spent without good cause.
- [X] War Footing - Tell the Tribe to prepare for war. Families will begin stockpiling supplies, Artisans will begin preparing for orders of weapons, and Witch Doctors will begin preparations for more elixirs and potions. - Adds +3 Successes to Military Might actions
- [ ] Stockpile Footing - Tell the Tribe to stock up on all they can. The tribe collectively will begin hoarding supplies and resources either given, gathered, or made by their own hands. Often these times require rationing, so the tribe will be prepared for the worst of it. - Adds +3 Successes to Preparation actions
- [ ] Production Footing - Tell the Tribe to collect and produce raw material ready to be used for a large project of some kind. Whether it is stone, wood, or some other material needed, the tribe will rally and assist in the collection of that material to assist the village. - Adds +3 Successes to Collection Actions
- [ ]Peacetime Footing - The Tribe returns to as it ever was. - No Added Successes
[ ] Go and Meet the Family (1 Success Needed) - The Shatterspear is a tight knit group of trolls. Everyone knows everyone, even if it's only by reputation or through a friend of a friend. In truth, if you go back far enough, everyone is related to everyone. You've now met the Children and Elders of the tribe.
[ ] A Friend In Thee (1 Success Needed) - Diplomatic - With your return to Shatterspear Vale, it is with the knowledge that not only has Zalan been moving around outside your view, but he has taken it upon himself to set upon the Elves themselves. Whether it was opportunistic, or waiting like a trap, he has attacked them. Now, more than ever, perhaps you should gather your allies close while you might still gain something. Send an envoy to… Outside the gate, you suppose. More than likely he is watching the Shattershield gate.
[ ] That Friend With a Shroud (1 Success Needed) - Diplomatic - Zalan has… Not betrayed you, nor has he gone back on any deal. But there was a silent agreement for each of you to stay out of each other's business until you reached out next… Or so YOU thought so. Yet,there was undeniable proof of third party wounds that you cannot help but link with the Satyr. Demand answers from him, send an envoy to… Outside the gate, you suppose. More than likely he is watching the Shattershield gate.
[ ] Partnering Panthers with Patient & for Participation in the Party (2 Successes Needed) - With your research into the Panthers that now confirm the Panthers are very much capable of being partners, equals, and pets in a confusingly equal manner, you should properly put that to the test. Urge your people to make these connections with the Panthers, and mayhaps you might put these Panther's to good use as guards and against the elves.
[ ] Grievance Wounds (2 Successes Needed) - War has broken out, and now your people more than ever are having their wrath and bloodlust sated. It is best you start holding an open court, allow people to come to you, not only for updates on the war, but also so you can stay atop your people's veins. It would not do to turn around and find your Village turning their wrath towards you for staying in the war far too long.
[ ] Public Morales (3 Successes Needed) - One thing you will need to keep an eye on during this war, is how exactly your people are handling the war. Seeding and Planting are already underway, but with half the hands to assist. Half the hands that would help the laborers, and half the hands that would assist in caring for the young and old alike. It would be best to get on top of it all at once, and be able to keep track, mainly by patrolling around the village and assisting. If nothing else, it would help you appreciate the parts of the village you rarely see.
[ ] Matters of the Faith (3 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - Your people have only two loa to which they pray. Each is honored equally and some given proper respect amidst the Tribe. But there is something strange happening, the more you push your question, the more it feels as if there is… Resistance? Its one thing to quietly be shut down, as it has done, worshiping loa is generally a personal affair… But you feel it. Trolls are hiding something from you. Find out what. (Note: Due to Circumstances outside Jalo'ki's knowing, this is now labeled as an Intrigue action)
[ ] Within the Fairer Kind (5 Successes Needed) - Darnassian Required - War is here. There is no longer time to contemplate whether or not peace if possible, nor what your people lack in knowledge of the Elves. Take one or more of your captives, and try to interrogate them for information. Troll are fighting on the front lines of this war now, and almost certainly, these Elves have information that would dearly assist you. Gather it, before more lives are needlessly lost.
[ ] Apprentice in Need (? Successes Needed)(You may use any number of Moxie dice for this action) - With the oncoming war and the reveal of your order's legacy, it struck you that you would need an apprentice. Now was hardly the time for such, but you cannot guarantee you would survive this war, even if you stayed safe and sound within the village. Already an attack has happened to it, and there is no telling if there won't be another. You, being chieftain, are prime material for being slain to sow discord amidst your people. No, you cannot put this off despite how much time and attention an apprentice would take. Find one, teach one, at the very least the basics so your order can continue.
- [ ] Take Ki'ka as Apprentice (Flexible, Intelligent, Small) - Firm yet Patient Hand Needed
- [ ] Take Jakusa as Apprentice (Dire Troll, Friendly, Kind) - Mentally Deficient (Unavailable after Fall)
- [ ] Continue Searching
[ ] Envoy For Demands (? Successes Needed) - Diplomatic - While you dispatch bloody warriors and hungry hunters, you can still make your demands known. You know the language, you know how to communicate with the elves. Send forth your demands, for their surrender, and mayhaps your wrath might yet be abated.
- [ ] Write In - The more demands, the harsher demands, the higher the Successes Needed

Unlike the Festival of Arrival or the Festival of Bethekk, this is a very active festival involving lots of dancing, music, and making the life of the vale explode with color and vibrancy, all the while pleading to Shivallah for good health and even better fertility… Of course, as you have no, very publicly, very NOTABLY, taken yourself Jor'kill as a mate, many are expecting you to… Take part… In a more direct way… In the privacy of Jor'kill's home, obviously.

AN: Big turn, now that we're starting War against the Night Elves, I will do 3 days worth of Voting, and then spend much longer actually writing results. There's going to be lots of moving parts, and you have a lot to get done from here on out.
On another note I decided to add the ability to spend dice to both Train and Socialize, since I want to encourage people to use those options instead of feeling trapped constantly going to the Festival of the season.
APPRENTICE VOTE DISCLAIMER: Please make a strong note that the DICE ROLL DOES NOT MATTER. The action auto succeeded, and yes while you can simply await to get a 6 on your dice roll for apprentice, do not presume it will give you the perfect apprentice. They will all have strengths and weaknesses, regardless if they came up as a 1 or a 6.
Consider all options as raw material. Jalo'ki can make a masterwork out of bad materials, just as she can ruin the best materials. Just because you start with a purified Crystal of pure light, does not mean it will automatically become the Ashbringer.
[X] Plan: Jalo'Ki is Working Overtime to Make End's Meet
Might
-[X] A Bloody Age, a Hunter's Age (Ongoing) - Military - Combat - Krah'ranik was selected to be your Warleader for the War ahead, for all his blustering and age, he has agreed to lead your people for a few years at the least. With this, Krah'ranik will be taking over half the total Warriors and Headhunters, leaving behind enough to cover the Gate and Vale should it come under attack. +4 Successes to All Millitary Might Actions
--[X] Krah'Ranik Delegated - 1 Might Die
-[X] A Guard for a Gate (0 Successes Needed) - Combat - Military - Jor'kills taking and reinforcement of the Pass, constructing the Shattershield Gate in the process, has made it a veritable strongpoint that stops all but those able to fly, or those small parties able to find the far more dangerous paths through the mountains. Alongside the headhunter Patrols, the gate serves a greater purpose as being the first stepping point in defending the totality of the vale. It simply needs a Garrison Commander to lead the Warriors. (1 Might Dice)
-[X] Scour the Vale (?
--[X] Jor'kill Delegated - 1 Might Dice
-[X] To Feed Them, To Gift Them (2 Successes Needed) - With Krah'Ranik leading the war effort, you are needed to ensure his forces are receiving the Food and Weapons they'll need to upkeep the war. Part of this is organizing the Laborers and Warrior Headhunter escorts through the mountains and down to their known drop points with the supplies. It will not be a joyous task, but it needs to be done sometime. (1 Might Dice) Mind
-[X] Lay the Foundation (4 3 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - The Mask speaks of island far to the north, speaking of them as the origination of your people within these lands… Yet, to reach there you will need a ship. With a war underway, it is unclear if you can truly spare the resources… No, you are Chieftain. You will command the Tribe to bring you wood and laborers, and you will construct a small personal ship for yourself and some guards. You WILL uncover the history of your tribe. (3 Mind Dice)
-[X] A Wave-Rider's Duty (3 Success Needed) - Research - The Battle for Shatterspear Village was a brutal and bloody affair, yet you are the Wave-Rider and chief of the tribe. You have your duties multiplied with this attack, so you must do your duty. Go and gather the lore of the battle, and compile it to ensure that which is needed to be remembered is remembered. For all those who come after you… While you are at it, prepare to compile everything about this war soon to consume your time. This list will only ever get longer it seems… (3 Mind Dice)
-[X] An Elf's Secret (5 Successes Needed) - Research - The elves somehow managed to bypass your people's defenses and get near enough to the center of the village before being detected.
--[X] Use Multiple Captives - How many? (4 Elves)
---[X] Jory Zaga Delegated - 1 Mind Dice Moxie
-[X] Partnering Panthers with Patient & for Participation in the Party (2 Successes Needed) - With your research into the Panthers that now confirm the Panthers are very much capable of being partners, equals, and pets in a confusingly equal manner, you should properly put that to the test. Urge your people to make these connections with the Panthers, and mayhaps you might put these Panther's to good use as guards and against the elves. (2 Moxie Dice)
I'm going to be honest, we are going to fail a lot no matter what we do, so hopefully the modifiers help to make some progress at least.
Jor'kill is better off at killing Elves and stacking modifiers, he can do the purge at the Vale better than Jalo'Ki or a certain blonde Prince of Lordaeron ever could.
[ ] Lay the Foundation (4 3 Successes Needed) - Intrigue - The Mask speaks of island far to the north, speaking of them as the origination of your people within these lands… Yet, to reach there you will need a ship.
(Note: +2 to Successes Needed every 2 seasons)
We won't be interrogating the Elves any time soon, and I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up dying anyway in two or three turns more, so it would be better if we could seek a way to counter their Elven tricks. I also want to see if I can delegate Jory Zaga to do it. If I can, you can bet I'm going to abuse the delegation system while we have it during wartime.

Goodness knows this world would be happier if more people focused on making grandkids.* But no, Arthas just had to leave his girlfriend to join Ner'zhul's grunge band.
*Except for Thrall. Marrying a Nagrand Tsundere and quitting your job is not positive character development, it's a mid-life crisis!
You aren't fighting on the front lines. Even if you had chosen to lead your Warriors in war, it would have been a vote to join the actual fighting.
Jalo'ki's abilities has been talked about a few times, but she's practically completely untrained when it comes to violence. She's naturally strong, but she directly rejected every Warrior or Headhunter who asked her to join their ranks, because she chose to apprentice as a wave-rider. It's why Jor'kill asked a couple times if he could train her because he assumed she would want to directly lead the troops rather than command them.
He also was trying to ask her out on a date because he was a bit of a nervous wreck about her about anything NOT his duties/warrior things, but that's besides the point.
