The Radiant Shepherd - A Warhammer 40K God-Emperor Quest

If we want to warn Cadia it may be worth it to send a Custodes for 4 points rather then using the tarot for one. It would both reduce the chance of our message being misunderstood as well as allow us to send a far more detailed and clear message.

Yeah but a single Custodes is not as good as a big warning across the sector, which prompt more mobilization

You don't have to send a single Custodes though? You give the vision to one, and tell him in the vision to ensure that messengers are sent to anywhere that needs it with the details we gave the Custodes in the vision.

I'm not opposed to sending the Custodes to Cadia with a message (and, presumably, to help in the defense). But I'm pretty sure tasking one with helping Eldrad make Ynnead is a really dumb plan, so I'm not voting for it.

Personally it just strikes me as kind of overambitious for our very first turn, when we haven't even had any interaction with the Eldar yet. Do we even know what Ynnead is IC?

It's also metagamey, why would the Emperor of Mankind want to put that much effort into helping a long term Eldar plan?

Because Chaos is going to be eating all our souls very, very soon if we do not do something radical. The whole murderous xenophobia thing... does not seem to have worked very well. Maybe we can try something different for once. Quid pro Quo with one of the few beings powerful and skilled enough in the warp to maybe get us off this chair.

The issue with that plan is that the whole awakening Ynnead thing would doom a few human worlds as a side effect.

I still maintain all that big plans can be done later. But we cant do stuff effectively if we dont even know what vague decade we are of M41.900s

The plan as it is now. The plan might in fact be improved if we put our big brain war god brain to the task, even if not 'some human worlds' is a price the Imperium of man pays every day for much stupider reasons than potentially setting up the first non Chaos New God in ages.

You mean chaos that gets super stomped on at Cadia

If Chaos were something that could be stomped with brute strength the Imperium would not be in the state it is in, it is nothing if not good at stomping.

This is a fair point, but how do we know 'later' will not have more emergencies?

Indeed
You know...pocket change
I'm pretty sure death at that scale would just empower Chaos even further if not birth another god alongside Ynnead. One that probably won't exactly be happy or friendly.

Some as in half since I was apparently low balling it without knowing, and that is a price even the Imperium would balk at. Also improving it requires clear and consistent communication something that we are currently struggling with.
