I guess Florence Nightingale in Terminator Armor is fine too, though we might be forced to stick as a mounted lancer which would make me *Frumple*, but I'm also a weirdo who think cute girls are even cuter in 500 kilos of hypertech material.

The Lance (1.2)
You breathed out - and then swung yourself up and off Gitta, who clawed at the wall after you. Your eyes swept down and you looked at the hull of the habitat.

It was strange. You'd spent your career so far learning how to tend to wounds, and learning only as much technosophantry as required to just barely manage the tools of your trade. And yet, looking down at the ruined habitat, you could see...it was like a body. A human body, writ large in metal and steel. The image was disconcerting and overwhelming, and...thrilling.

And then you saw it.

"Well, that's just absurd," you said, skidding along your thigh as you threw open a hatch. "No, no, no." The knowledge spilling into your mind was wild and the light was bright enough to make the work easy. You took out the parts and casually slashed your palm - sending the melta-head tumbling away from you. It clanked and clattered, rolling and coming to a stop near the band - which had stopped playing. And the Chaos Space marine had stopped speaking. And the army of traitor civilians had all stopped watching. They were all turned to you as you stood - and the sunlight shone around you, like a break in the cloud overhead. You attached the angular, bladed thing you had pulled from the habitat to the tip of your lance, tied it off and drew your fingers along the connection - and under your gloves, the metal flowed like water, damped and pressured as if your hand was an industrial press and a fuse-las in one. You flicked your hand and sparks of golden light flew off your glove as you smiled behind your mask.

"They thought it was a agrav system, you know!" you said. "Like mistaking the heart of an appendix - and this girl in my first medica schola did the very thing. She got flogged for days for it..."

"What in the warp..." Lord Cartheniax whispered, his eyes wide as saucers. Including his eye on the tongue. Unpleasent mutation. Wyld induced?

You shook your head, while the Lady of Blood growled. "She's a human-"

"She's on fire!"

"It's a trick of the light," the Lady of Blood started forward, stomping towards you, her chainax roaring as she twirled it in her hand. "Time to die, little-"

Her chainax roared.

You brought your hunting lance up, around, and then thrust - not at her chest or her face, but at the floor. The dark black triangular tip of your spear flashed with a strange lensing effect, light distorting around it and a low rumble whipped through the air and a distortion trembled along the ground and smashed into her feet. The Lady of Blood was sent flipping up, then smashing down, her armor denting the heavy metal floor of the makeshift platform. She crashed down and skidded, her legs obliterating part of the band's platform, causing the band to spring to their feet and run away.

Pure silence hung in the air as every Space Marine froze - you could hear their attention in the soft grunt and click of their armor. The onlooking civilians pointed at you, their jaws dropped in shock.

"It's not an artificial gravity system. You can use it like that, if you don't know what you're doing. This is the focusing lens of a gravitic imploder lance, actually," you said, grinning behind your mask.

"You Guardsman!" she roared furiously, scrambling to her feet.

"Lets see..." you said, then adjusted your grip on the lance, touching one of the buttons you'd placed on the handle - when had you done that? - and feeling the change in the resonance. You sprinted forward - and felt the gravity around you grow lighter. You leaped, sailing up into the air, then felt the gravity come down on you again - heavier. You gripped your lance in both hands as time seemed to slow...the Lady of Blood was coming to her feet, her chain-ax in her hand. She started to lift it up. You dropped like a thunderbolt. The tip of your lance and her broad axhead met and there was a cracking roar.

The chainax shattered. You hit the deck as she stumbled backwards, then roared and lashed out with her hand. You ducked under her blow, which sailed above your head, so close you felt your helmet jerk off and tumble away. You moved behind her, hood falling back, your hair billowing behind you, a crimson curtain fluttering in the air, catching the light like fire.

The Lady of Blood grunted.

She stood behind you, her arms reaching up - closing around the tip of the lance protruding through her chest plate. Blood started to flow from the grill of her helmet and she coughed out. "F...Father..."

Then she fell and you jerked the spear from her back, twirling it around in your hands and nodding.

"It works," you said, rather grimly confident as you reached up to your mask...

The Lens Lance seems to work quite well, for a modified focusing lens of a gravitic implosion lance weapon combined with a hunting lance and a makeshift power pack. You feel some inspiration coming on - all 5 dot artifacts have a suite of abilities. You start with only one that activates the instant you attune your thrumming essence to it, but as you built the lance, you get to choose what that ability is!

[ ] MODULATING WEIGHT TENDENCY - by adjusting how gravity falls on you, you can leap farther and land faster and safer than normal.
[ ] REACH EXTENDING IMPLOSION TIP - once a ship to ship weapon, you can call on the machine spirit to attack at range
[ ] LINE OF OBLITERATION SHAFT - by channeling the gravitic powers along the lance itself, it can create a massive area of effect. It won't kill, but it will knock greater enemies over and render lesser enemies incapacitated en mass.
[ ] AGIES OF SINGULARITY CAPSTONE LOCK - turn asides lasbolts, shells and shrapnel with a field of focused gravitational energies.

And one more...

[ ] Adjust your mask to make sure it won't fall off.
[ ] Get your hat and make sure your hair's hidden again.

The Lady of Blood rolls 3s for join battle, getting 6 initiative
41-22 rolls 7s for join battle and gets 10 initiative

41-22 attacks with a +3 stunt (since I'm great at describing things) and gets 11s against The Lady of Blood's 5 defense, which is a total of 23 withering damage against her soak of 14. 41-22 does 9 damage, dropping LOB down to 0 ini and crashing her, giving 41-22 +14 ini

The Lady of Blood growls and gets a 13s to hit! 41-22 stunts to get +3 to her defense for 9 in total, so she hits by 4 and her damage is reduced to 10 dice by 41-22's soak and she does 5 ini damage, dropping her by 5 ini

The Lady of blood has 5 ini
41-22 has 19 ini

41-22 makes a decisive attack with 11s to hit, which is absolutely a hit, and she rolls 19 damage for her decisive attack and does 7 lethal. The Lady of Blood is slain

Look, we're a Lancer, one of the downsides of a Lancer is you only get to hit one target at a time.

Unless you've got this in which case you can do the Sauron Thing where you swing at one dude and the shockwave knocks an entire battle line in disarray.

A soldier on duty must remain in uniform at all times. Allowances can be made for dramatic stunts, but we're still a Professional.
