Bone and Blood (Naruto Quest)

[X] Send the chunin after the scroll-bearers, after all, the mission is to disrupt Konoha's supply lines in southeastern Meadows, and those big scrolls are absolutely full of supplies destined for its invasion of the Land of Storms. That you'll get to fight all of the enemy chunin at once is just a bonus, maybe that will present something of a challenge.

[x] Split the team. You'll hang back and hold off the Konoha-nin with two combatants and the sensor, while the other three chunin go after the supply runners. You'll really just be there to provide support and keep the pressure of your team members, you didn't want to be stuck with a bunch of chunin, but if you have to be, you'll at least get to see what they can do.

Look they can join in on the fun violence if they do their job fast enough.

Tsubaki is a true leader that cares for the lives of the shinobi under her command! Thus, she will take on the entire enemy force so her squad is free to pursue the objective unhindered. What courage, what gallantry!

any insinuation that she's just sating her battle fetish are lies, slander and salty uchiha propaganda

Seems like this will leave us best placed to react to a surprise jonin.

The bone travel was due to the curse seal, so I can see the chance for Tsubaki win.
He got bone travel without all of the prerequisites because of the Curse Mark, but it's possible without it.

Sensor: "That guy has no idea how much she outclass him."

Am I right?
I'm not saying you're wrong, but you know what they say about old men in a profession where most die young.

Could Tsubaki theoretically performed the bone forest jutsu or would that be to much?
She'd be capable of it if she knew it, but she can't maintain/tap into extensive enough reservoirs for it not to exhaust her. Her current Thistle Dance is smaller and maintaining it was taxing on her stamina, though that's in part because she had to consciously move it.

How strong would the average Kaguya Clan member be?
I mean, the clan saw the full panoply of Bone Pulse abilities as cursed so probably just very skilled in taijutsu and other than that about average for most ninja and mercenaries.

Ah, okay that's rad as hell.

I'm also curious if the All-Killing Ash Bones ability of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki have some lesser expression in the normal Kaguya clan. Like shooting out bones that are riddles with Osteoclasts that enter the blood stream and start dissolving bones across the entire body. Absolutely a hilarious T6-T7 ability I imagine but I'm always curious as to what the T5+ upper levels of the Shikotsumyaku can do.

On average they're stronger than the average ninja. They were one of the strongest clans in the Land of Water during the Warring States period, but their overall potential is kind of capped by um, how do I put this gently? Just how stupid and inbred they are. Not that other clans like the Uchiha or Uzumaki aren't inbred (seriously, we see Uzushio once or twice in flashback and they're all redheads, and both of Sasuke's parents have the sharingan), but they're not stupid, at least not Kaguya stupid. Canonically, they're enough to threaten Kiri shortly after the Third War, but they're not an existential threat to the village.

Pretty much this, actually:

Their taijutsu is exceptional and even members who don't carry the bloodline have above-average chakra reserves and healing abilities, similar to what an average Senju would be. Just, again, severely lacking in judgment and critical thinking.

Past Tier 5 it's all technically ninjutsu, though you've reminded me I should probably redo/repost the tech trees.

You're barking up a tree with the idea of putting bones in bones to make bones bone while you bone bones, but it's not on track for All-Killing Ash Bones. Remember that Kaguya wasn't an alien, she was just a princess who was favored by the Ten Tails (whatever that means) here, or at least that's the common narrative, so maybe All-Killing Ash Bones isn't a thing. But if it is, it might not even have a place in the tech tree, especially if it isn't a pure expression of Shikotsumyaku.

Honestly the kind of genetic similarity needed for universal red hair that immediately breaks when mixed with someone with Blonde hair does say some uncomfy things about Uzu, either in terms of relationships or in terms of the shenanigans they could do with seals during a pregnancy.

Yeah I never imagined the All-Killing Ash Bones as being something on the tree that definitely seems like some weird combination of Amaterasu being being put into bones. I was more thinking of basically trying to take over someone else's skeleton and just dissolve it like we have the bone fields we've left behind. Which is a horrifying statement to write I realize, because now I'm thinking about whether we could pull off something like the Moopsy from Lower Decks.

Actually, why did the Kaguya consider their bloodline limit cursed? Was it explained in-quest or in Naruto canon? There must have been some reason they didn't use what is probably one of the strongest bloodline abilities in Naruto.

In-quest we did get The Tale of Gunshomaru, which depicts the Shikotsumyaku as controlling people like puppets. Whether it actually happened or that the Kekkei Genkai can be applied in puppetry is unknown.

Does Tsubaki know what the Kaguya Clan is doing at the moment?
We are unfortunately about two countries and an ocean away from them at the best of times plus the clan is pretty scattered by both their own drive and Kiri's efforts 80ish years ago so probably nothing not generally known to rumor mills.

So basically the Kaguya Clan neglects their own bloodline release? I did not realize that, is that why they feared and locked away Kimimaru? What exactly were they afraid of?

Cursed, disease, superstition, all of the above? The fact that yin-yang or nature-chakra techniques are capable of actually causing the kinds of supernatural shenanigans one would associate with legends and myth means they aren't necessarily unfounded.

But Kimimaro was also a child when his clan died out and he escaped so he didnt know the details and so we never learned them either.
