Infernal Resurgence (Worm/Exalted)

Armsmaster paused and continued his explanation. "To stop the penalty of 'bad luck' incurred by breaking an oath to Faust, the individual must seek forgiveness from Faust and undertake a new task assigned by the Faust,"
I wonder if we are going to have a bunch of former merchants coming to us seeking forgiveness?

So I goofed up and went with power testing by mistake.

This is on me and some people have, rightfully, raised concerns on why they did not want to go for power testing.

So in light of that, to be fair to all parties, I am putting this mini vote.

[] Cancel the latest post. It becomes a "what if" and you guys instead go to the other option.

[] Do not cancel the latest post, it stays canon and you go to the next option with no additional AP cost.

Though on the power testing, Danny only displayed the powers already showed. He did not reveal the healing powers for example. So this was the bare minimum he could get away with.

To me this is having our cake and eating it too.

It feels unreasonable for us to not do power testing right after revealing our hand, we should do it at some point. Now is the perfect time.

If we don't do power testing they are going to go around spreading rumors about how we are the next teacher and how the bad luck is a master effect. Yes it seems stupid giving free information to the enemy, but that is just how the game works.

I would like to use slate of hand here. If we go in for power testing while freshly Exalted before the PRT knowd we grow in power, the government/moles gains the least amount of info, and we can point to this as evidence we can work within the system as a reasonable actor.

I would have preferred if we had shown some false limitations or some sort of slanted information, but this was about as good as we could expect.

If don't give people a firm grip of how the Oath stuff works they are going to go apeshit.

Reading though the post I can't see anything that they learned that they would not have learned just from seeing what we have already done. If anything the biggest reveal wasn't from the power testing, but us giving all that information revealing a thinker power.

The characterization and conversation in this quest, I don't think the word stilted is completely correct, but it's close enough. It's just off, like an uncanny valley effect covering the whole quest.

It would be waste of time to undo it. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

This is something that I struggle with tbh. I had similar feed back before and tried to take steps to improve it. Does it feel like that in the recent updates? It would help if you point out specific sections in the recent chapters that I can work on. Thanks.
