You can go for Deception Seidr with out any Deception skill. While low level spells work best with some skill in deception, high level spells are capable of just brute forcing things.

Spending 10 more Prestige for +1 Str on top of these effects still seems better to me. Like, after Hamr 4 we definitely want to pursue at least Agility, but it seems like leaving a bunch of value on the table to not raise Hamr here.
[X] Wyvern Name: Stormber (Old Swedish for Storm)
[X] Swordsmanship. Focus on your sword lessons with your father.
[X] Deception. You can get away with more if you could lie better.
[X] Spend 100 Prestige on Hamr 4
[X] Spend 60 Piety on Hugr 3
"Stormber," you declare proudly, "I will call him Stormber."
"Good name," says Bjorn, "And you daughter?"
"Elding," says Astrid, "So his name goes with that of his sister."
"That is another fine name," says her father, "Now, let me run you through the basics of caring for them. Sigurdr will have people take care of it for you while you remain in Torstensby, but when you leave in the future, you'll have to take care of it yourselves. That or find some else to handle it for you."

"We're beginning to reach the limits of what I can teach you," says Father at the end of one swordsmanship lesson.
"Father!" you exclaim in shock.
"Don't give me that look, Torvald," says Father as he rolls his shoulders, "You have plenty left to learn and there is still more that I can teach you, but we are beginning to hit the point of diminishing returns. By any reasonable standard, you are already an expert swordsmans, easily the equal of a trained warrior."
"Does that mean our lessons will stop?" you ask, not at all happy at the thought of ending your lessons with Father.
"We will continue our lessons," your father assures you as he places a hand on your shoulder, "But we might wish to change the subject of them. You might profit more from my expertise in other areas."
What lessons does Torvald do with his father in the future?
[ ] He continues to learn the art of the sword. Swordsmanship.
[ ] He will learn how to intimidate others. Intimidation.
[ ] He will practise honing his body. Athletics.
[ ] He will learn to wield the power of the storm. Storm Seidr.

"This doesn't feel entirely honourable," you say to your sister as Brunhildr guides you through some deceitful tricks.
"It isn't dishonourable despite what some might claim, but yes, it isn't exactly honourable," concedes Brunhildr, "Nevertheless, it is a useful tool to be able to trick your opponents. The Gods have no problem resorting to trickery and deception when the situation calls for it so why should we? Do we consider ourselves above the Gods?"
"Is this one of those tricks?" you ask.
"Some might consider it one, but only the thoughtless brutes who consider any form of thinking to an act of trickery," says Brunhildr with a sneer, "They are only good at physical strength and so deem it to be the only way to do things with everything else being dishonourable because they aren't good at anything else. Using your brain, tongue or seidr? It isn't repeatedly hitting things with a weapon like their method of choice so clearly it is inferior and dishonourable."
"Father isn't like that," you point out.
"Father wouldn't be as great as he is if he was stupid like many warriors and he doesn't tolerate such stupidity under his command," replies Brunhildr, "Unfortunately, not all of my would-be suitors share his intelligence. Father makes sure they don't cause me trouble upon rejection, but I would rather not waste my time with brainless brutes who look down upon me."
"Can I help?" you offer.
"Not until you are strong enough to beat them off with that Adamantine sword of yours," answers Brunhildr, "I do appreciate the offer of support, but for now, let's get back to your lessons."

It is just the three of you with only Astrid and Sigrid tagging along on this adventure of yours. With the rumours of a seer sounding reliable enough, you have set out to find them. While fourteen means you are still a boy and not yet a man, you are capable enough that father won't mind your journey so long as it doesn't stray too far from Torstensby.
Of course, that leaves the question of why you are seeking out the rumoured seer.
Why does Torvald want to seek out the old seer?
[ ] He seeks wisdom from the seer.
[ ] He seeks knowledge from the seer.
[ ] He seeks strength from the seer.

Sorry once again about how long this update took. I've had family visiting for the holidays and I overestimated how much free time that would leave me with.
Anyway, we are back.
Please point out any spelling or grammar mistakes that you spot. Please quote them in the thread and explain what you think is wrong so I know what you are referring to.
