In this case, how would things like bosses, mini-bosses and raid bosses work if you don't mind me asking, would they just be bigger standard monsters or something more unique?I'm still open to question. I plan to add some setting details for the two regions choosen (Black - Blue, White-Black) in a couple of hours.
Standard Monster. Considering that the monsters becomes progressively more expensive with the increase of the Tier, they become few in number to be miniboss and bosses naturally. In this case, how would things like bosses, mini-bosses and raid bosses work if you don't mind me asking, would they just be bigger standard monsters or something more unique?
Okay, makes sense I suppose, and it's certainly not the worst option for boss ideas or anything.Standard Monster. Considering that the monsters becomes progressively more expensive with the increase of the Tier, they become few in number to be miniboss and bosses naturally.
Maybe I got the wrong interpretation. Monsters in the Backrooms to me where almost that "Something is there, but I can't say what it is". Mimic were also something I thought about and would be easily implemented. Probably the "Non-Euclidian" angle went out too strong.@Abyssius, So I know the Factory will do machine stuff and Hive's theme is bugs, but what can we expect to get in the future from the liminal dungeon? Because from the original description I got the impression that the stuff in it would be generally stuff that seems almost normal but once the flaws are noticed, it would unsettle the adventurers (maybe a monster with wrong/weird proportions or mimics), instead of invisible monsters and non-euclidean space.
My reading of the backrooms and a floor based of them would be basically a liminal scape that exists to utterly confuse any invaders that enter the dungeon, it's like a bag of holding, the floor is bigger then it really is and it more often then not loops on on itself, basically wasting the delving parties supplies and mental state.Maybe I got the wrong interpretation. The theme I was thinking about was more about cumulative malus from a mechanical stand point and extradimensional creatures/mimic for the monster and wrong geometry/scenery for the traps. Not sure if it was the intention of the creator.
