From Genesis (Riot God Quest)

To make more mundane/magical creatures, to make another set of plants/fungus, or to do something completely outside making a reasonable ecosystem, that is the question.

The cats ended up very interesting since they don't really eat "meat" since the Pepper Birds are more plant constructs fueled by flame... which triggers many questions for me on how the feather cats may develop down the line when their main food source is fire fueled plants.

source is fire fueled plants.
If they contain enough calories and all the substances the body needs, then it does not matter. These cats eat peppers - even if only a little. So its really not unbelievable for them to eat some plant-meat.

Tentative act, barebones description. Tell me if it's even a good idea or not, I'll see if I can't clean it up and fluff it out if it gets any degree of general approval.

TLDR: It's basically a way for people to generate more species through a magical gacha, with a chance for it to spit out something like an alien plague dungeon if you use it too recklessly. Even if it makes The Thing though, you can still exploit it for personal gain if you're dumb enough to think you're smarter than the jungle.

[-] Veri-gate
A special magic ritual which is functionally a macrocosmic focusing lens for the Least Gods, to channel their tendency to cause messes by spreading their domain fecklessly. Instead, this ritual, when preformed by High Priests or the sufficiently enlightened, as they too would be able to discover it by investigating the patterns of the Tapestry deeply enough, would have the specific utility of inviting the Least Gods of the universe in general to evenly multiply their domains through the biological substrate of the ritual components, which must necessarily consist of living subjects.

This would, basically, cause living things its used on to explode into a horrific Palace of Flesh; the results would be different each time the ritual is used, as the inside of the ritual becomes a closed space which undergoes high speed evolution under unpredictable conditions. Most of the time, the ritual peters out and wouldn't produce much, save for a few unique and valuable species, as the artificial hyper-biodiversity collapses on itself and cannot maintain any kind of cohesion on contact with the outside world- though even this can cause an unexpectedly dangerous situation in the long run due to invasive species with unforeseen adaptability, or diseases that spread before containment can be properly instated.

However, rarely, a fully self-stable ecosystem can form inside of the ritual space; the aforementioned Palaces of Flesh, otherwise called Biospheres. These Biospheres would possess incredible potential if exploited intelligently- but also represent an incredible threat if not properly managed and suppressed.

This ritual when preformed on the undead would instantly destroy any caught in its range, by the mechanism of forcefully injecting 'life' into their bodies and inducing rapid decomposition on the flesh into stinking, putrefied sludge- this effect extends to other dead biological matter as well, so the undead are not actually special in this respect.

Divinely mandated democracy sounds like a fun idea so here's my proposal for this round:
[] The Presidential Stone

A red stone tinged with gold is given to Gnominda, the artifact grants its owner an aura of authority.
Gethel tells her to organize the Holy City into a Republic, with a President that can only be elected twice to rule for 10 years, four Ministers for the four quadrants, one Greater House for all inhabitants and one Lesser House representing each race voting for laws and finally a Court of High Judges ruling on legal matters.

The meeting would not be peaceful. The Inclings, or their queens at least, proved to be a paranoid bunch to the point of having their own subordinates regularly watched for potential disloyalty. The prospect of this other race outside their hierarchy infuriated them. Borne out of paranoia and a misplaced feeling of superiority, they would attack and summarily found themselves defeated as one of the elder Blade Weavers quickly dispatched all of their soldiers.
I do not even know what to say. I don't remember prescribing them for genocidal maniacs. It just doesn't make any sense, especially the part where having agents monitoring your princes' loyalty makes you paranoid. It's literally common sense to be aware of what your de facto rulers are doing, especially given the fact that if you die, one of them will take your place. It's not just common sense anymore, it's a matter of survival. And even if you stick to this whole topic with paranoia, it still turns out to be stupid to attack strangers. You do not know anything about them, especially about their strengths and capabilities, and despite this you blindly rush into battle? Seriously? Indeed, why, for example, send Princes of born telepathic manipulators to strangers for diplomacy? Damn, it was not difficult for a prince with their intellect, attractive appearance for humanoid races and a set of forces to recognize the dwarves for information about themselves and their race, their culture and history, and based on the data obtained, he concluded that war was not an option. Just by being in their city for a while, they would draw a lot of conclusions just by looking around. And when at that time the Agent, literally a subspecies imprisoned for the games of a cloak and a dagger, did its job, the Queens saw that war was not an option. After all, they are not stupid and do not suffer from xenophobia.

And even if the Queens decide to go to war for the sake of the plot, they will not immediately rush to the attack. First, the Princes, under the guise of a diplomatic mission, will collect intelligence and recruit potential traitors, while the Agents will work in the dark. But no, let's throw ourselves into a hopeless war. After all, the Queens are full of inexplicable superiority in relation to other species, which, again, I did not endow them with. At least they are alive and that's the main thing

The thing you are not taking into account is that they are a newborn race. They are not a fully formed with a culture, knowledge, etc. They are the start of a race ready to build that culture. Their various castes and behaviours are thus instinctual. So them being born with the agents already set to monitor princes is taken not as a cultural thing created but inherent instinct hence paranoia. Why would someone be careful of not trusting their rulers if they were just created and did not develop a culture or events that might lead to that caution?

And their telepathy extends only to Inclings. Your act was already pushing what I would allow for a race born with only a grand act. Having sentience and sapience is already rather OP when fighting against other beings.

The Holy City, despite its name, is a moon sized arcology of stone with most of it just a bunch of forermly barren hallways and chambers with no habitation to speak of more aking to caves. It is in these that the Inclings were born so to the best of their knowledge their 'world' is just a never ending branching series of caves populated by the occasional feather cat. The people at the core of the City, the one that is properly a city, have not even branched out that far yet considering their population is still very much in the millions. They can just monitor a lot of activity due to Ethia's flame acting as a way to extend their senses.

So the Inclings knew nothing but themselves for a few generations before the Gnomes made contact, and not just any gnomes the Blade Weavers who, due to being powered by Violence, are not the diplomatic sort.

So a bunch of cavemen attacked first and the person they attack is not one to try for diplomacy after being attacked and things went on from there.

[] Crustacean Creation
Crustaceans are formed, and spread out across the world in places appropriate to their biology and they can somewhat thrive in, allowing them to spread and multiply. They are also give a degree of high yet beneficial mutability to adapt further to their environments through rapid metamorphic mutation.

Really simple, make a bunch of crustaceans that can mutate to adapt to their environment really quickly.

That's it basically.

Maybe I should create a new mineral. Or some small pieces of different new materials, so people could research them.

[] Xalik'tar, the Eternal Lord

Xalik'tar is a racial deity revered by the Inclings as the epitome of order, unity, and resilience. As the god of reign, he represents the collective consciousness and leadership in Inclink society. It is depicted as a majestic and ethereal being, resembling a colossal, luminous insect with shimmering, iridescent wings. Its form combines aspects of various insect species, embodying patterns and colors found within the Inclink's natural environment. Its multi-faceted eyes glow with an otherworldly light, and its slender, segmented limbs end in graceful, nimble claws. Its presence is often accompanied by the faint sound of whirring wings and clattering manibules.

According to the beliefs of the Inclinks, their god resides in the divine realm, which is a metaphysical plane representing the interconnectedness of the minds of the Inclinks. This ethereal realm takes the form of a sprawling, intricate hive metropolis that stretches as far as the eye can see. Each part of the hive metropolis hosts different aspects of Inclink society, such as reign, warfare, knowledge, governance, and cultural development. The realm pulses with vibrant energy, reflecting the unity and synergy that underlies the Inclink race. It is here that their spirits go after death in order to appear before God and his judgment. Those righteous who honored God and his precepts, giving all of themselves to the good of the Hive, will have immortal life in his kingdom. The wicked will face a fate worse than death, they will be thrown into an infinitely deep Pit filled with larvae that will devour them for the rest of eternity. Their names and deeds will be erased from the minds of all Inclings, condemning them to oblivion.

According to the thoughts and theories of many Princes, their god Xalik'tar represents the Inclinks' ability to unite and think collectively, emphasizing the power of harmonious cooperation. He controls their telepathic network, ensuring the unhindered exchange of knowledge, ideas and emotions. Xalik'tar also embodies the concept of effective leadership, guiding the Inclink hives towards stability, progress, and prosperity. It is not uncommon for princes to pray to Xalik'tar for guidance, seeking the wisdom to make fair decisions and maintain public order. As insectoid humanoids, the Inclinks possess remarkable resilience and adaptability. Xalik'tar passes these traits on to his followers, allowing them to overcome adversity and thrive even in harsh environments. It teaches the value of perseverance and the ability to adapt to constantly changing circumstances.

The divine symbol of Xalik'tar is a stylized intricate web that represents the relationship of the Inclink race and their God. He is often depicted on ceremonial medallions, temple frescoes, and religious artefacts, serving as a constant reminder of his influence.

The Inclinks pay their respects to Xalik'tar through grand ceremonies and communal rituals held in sacred temples within their hives. These rituals entail synchronized dances, meditations, and telepathic chants, strengthening the collective bond among the Inclink population and strengthening their bond with Xalik'tar. The faithful also offer gifts of respect in the form of rare gems, which symbolize stability and resilience.

[] Miliakes
A creature made and added to the world to aid the Inclings the Miliakes are scaled in brown and green hue with a thousand small legs on their underside, they can grow up to a foot long and can use their legs and powerful jaws to crush stone and move dirt. Natural herd animals and preferring to burrow away from danger than face it they are made near the Inclings as they can be used as beasts of burden.

Base for a small group, Lesser for a large widespread population.

[] EYE-flies
The EYE-flies are creatures with six insectoid wings around a massive humanlike eye. The EYE-flies eye can open up allowing a number of small insect legs inside to reach out and pull in foot. They are not particularly hardy creatures but they make up for it by their innate foretelling, able to see and sense danger before it arrives, often allowing it to escape before that danger arrives.

Magical race so Lesser for small group, greater for large widespread population

[] Spice of Health
The spice of health is simple looking plant with a thick gray root, however it has two features to it that makes such a plant desirable. First it's root has a unique and pleasant taste sure to help culinary development. Second the root gathers all the life force the plant can gather and if used fresh it can help mend broken bodies.

Magical species so lesser for small group, greater for large widespread population

So a god and a personal afterlife?

Greater

Nah, it is working as intended.

It is to discourage just wholesale copy pasting entire ecosystems from Earth onto the world. I want something unique not just copied environments.

If I remove the part about the soul entering the god realm, etc., will that lower the cost of the act? Or should I remove the part about the divine realm entirely? I would not want to do this, but as practice has shown, otherwise the act will not pass at all

Baseline gods, thanks to Divine Threads, only need a Lesser act to pass.

[] Word Stone

After awakening and seeing how his last Spark changed the world, the Great Artist get inspired to try and shape something new. He took some stones and changed thier nature in a very specific way. It not only led to creation of new mineral, but also gave a way for it to form on its own. However, the necessary conditions for the formation of an unusual mineral are extremely rare, so the stone itself is rare. The Artisan called his new creation Word Stone.

[] Interesting Growths

The Great Artist found a great deal of interest in peppers and other plants of all kinds, which sprouted this age. He never tried to create something alive from scratch, but this sounded like a great oppotunity. So the Artist started new project. Although, his creations came up as something not really called a plant in the end. He created a group of four new related species:

1. Red Wart - It is a round, bulbous fungus that grows in dense clusters mostly on the trunks of dead trees. Fruiting bodies at the beginning of growth have a dull red hue, which gradually becomes bright red. The fungus has a wrinkled, fluffy surface covered with tiny soft bristles that store spores. The mushroom is edible and can even be eaten raw. It is fast growing and yields red organic dye.

2. Black Fingers - It is an elongated mushroom, vaguely resembling fingers in its shape. They grow on the ground in the form of lonely few clusters on the great area. These mushrooms are usually gray in color, covered with a thin layer of mucus, and smell like earth. However, these mushrooms are very fond of growing on decaying animal corpses. In this case, they cover the dead body with dense mycelium and grow in large numbers, while their color changes to dark gray and black towards the tip. Taken from the ground, they are relatively edible, although they are difficult to cook and digest in large quantities. But if these mushrooms feed on corpses, they become very poisonous. Including their spores, which can cause coughing and, in the worst case, pneumonia.

3. Smoker - It is mushroom with a spherical swollen cap. The mushroom has a long curved leg and it has a brown tint. These mushrooms grow in symbiosis with pepper, penetrating their roots with their mycelium. But it can do something similar with other plants. When the mushroom is mature enough, its cap bursts and releases a cloud of odorous spores. This species is not edible, but its dried fruit bodies and spores have a very pleasant smell. These mushrooms can be smoked like tobacco or made into perfume. The smell is highly dependent on the nutrient medium of the fungus and this can be controlled. Smokers have a mild sedative effect. With the right skills and knowledge, one can get a strong pain reliever from the mushroom.

4. Honey Mold - It is a mushroom in form of dull orange fluffy mold. It can grow in any damp place, but it really thrives on the branches of certain trees. Mature mold has long shoots that resemble a strand of red hair hanging down. They are covered with a very sweet dripping liquid substance that contains the spores of the fungus. It is also a strong antibiotic and disinfectant. This mold blooms rarely, but periodically. One can eat it, one can easily make alcohol from it. However, it is a parasite and can harm some trees too much.

[] The Spark of Genius

The Great Artist loved his work and wanted to share his happiness with others. So Artisan tried to forge a Spark, which would contain his ability, which would embody the domain of creation, of arts and crafts. However, in the end he has got something a bit different - the Spark of Genius was created. This Spark could eventually allow its owner to build anything that was theoretically possible within the laws of reality or even go a little bit beyond, but it was only ultimate possibility. At the very beginning, Spark only provided the opportunity to receive inspiration, up to the point of falling into a trance of creation, during which reality around is soften to work almost without tools and at the end of which incredible things can be produced. But it was dangerous in the hands of the insufficiently educated or too frivolous, it could make things host didn't really understand or interpret their desire to create something wrong... Because in its work, the Spark primarily relied on the knowledge and personality of its owner.

It was an essence of mad genius, it could affect thoughts of the host the more they use it. In the case of the Artisan, he got lost in deep fugue at some point, while testing new Spark. It wasn't dangerous in his case - just a bit weird and funny. In this time period the Artist forged many things and Pyralis watched him carefully, but most of the inventions were hilariously useless or just odd for them. They performed their functions and did incredible things sometimes, but most of them were absurd little trinkets of no use for family. At some point, mother woke him up. Many trinkets were given away to those who were interested or were simply thrown away. And some remained in the custody of the Artist.

[X] Eternals
The Eternals are a new species of sophonts, shaped and brought into existence amidst the Holy City. They are tall being, resembling Humans with long pointy ears, and they glow with an internal light, shining through their eyes and skin, resembling that of the First Sun.

the Eternals have three main features that set them apart as a species:
1. they are immune to age or disease
2. they are naturally very strong and fast
3. their internal light grows stronger and more plentiful the older they are, and can be used as a substitute for water, food, and sleep, though only until it runs out. Their internal light is slowly replenished through the passage of time, though this replenishment can be sped up if the Eternal engages in a hobby or pursuit they love or are devoted to.

[X] Words of Power

After his rebirth, one of the Artist's initial endeavors was to play with Mystical Yarn and Little Gods. He had a brilliant idea to assign a unique name to each little spirit. These names were incredibly simple, so small and delicate that they seemed impossible to pronounce separately. Nevertheless, they were distinctive - the Artist ingeniously devised a unique name for every tiny spirit, often doing so in his spare time. This ensured that each Little God could remember, recognize, and respond to its own name in the simplest way possible. However, the Little Gods were not solitary beings; they were all integral parts of a greater whole, harmoniously interwoven fibers in the Mystical Yarn.

Through this interconnectedness, individual words transformed into complete sentences when many Little Gods accidentally heard their own names and responded. It was not that someone intentionally uttered these names, but rather the names were so minuscule that they could easily be misheard in any surrounding information. Thus, certain strands of the Mystical Yarn began to vibrate randomly, producing 'noises' as the Little Gods heard their names in meaningless things and answered. This white noise had no impact on the world, as its chaotic nature caused the voices of different spirits to cancel each other out.

However, the Artisan became intrigued by these noises, these waves and vibrations. He endeavored to weave the threads in such a way that the voices of many spirits, upon responding to their names, would create not white noise, but a harmonious melody that made sense. Yet, playing this instrument proved challenging, requiring extensive experimentation. After all, the names of the spirits were so small that even the thoughts and mood of the one attempting to play the strings influenced the outcome. Consequently, the majority of words and gestures only resulted in fleeting bursts of harmony, a faint sensation for those around, before devolving into meaningless and ineffectual white noise that failed to influence the world once again.

Only by forging a special Spark for himself could the Artisan work more effectively with these waves, deciphering rare stable and meaningful vibrations amidst the chaos. Upon completing this monumental task, the Artist approached his mother and siblings to showcase the fruits of his labor. The Artisan gestured with his paw and snapped his fingers, causing his strings to utter the word [Lux], and a light ignited at the tip of his talon. This light continued to burn as the string vibrated, resonating with the echo of the spoken word. While the Artist's relatives possessed the ability to create light at will, it was the ingenuity with which it was achieved that mattered, rather than the end result. And thus, the Words of Power were born, and the Spark of Magic was forged and offered to the Great Tapestry. This would allow anyone who possessed the will, intelligence, patience, and fortune to potentially make their own strings find and sing these Words. There were many of them, with their own specific meanings and effects to find in the chaos of white noise.

Keep in mind that each word is a separate spell with certain strict limits on what it can do without destabilizing and turning back into white noise. Like [Lux] can only create a point source of light that can be dimmed/brighten within specified limits, and which color is usually gilded and can only be changed to slightly more white or orange. Step to the left, step to the right and the singing of the string becomes a meaningless noise, interrupting the effect. It also means that you can't just take and pronounce words one after another or together to create some new effect - in most cases you will get white noise again and nothing for an effect. If you need a beam of light, there are two ways: exhaustively looking for a word that creates this particular effect (if it exists at all), or exhaustingly searching for a word that will harmonize with another to create a similar effect (if it exists at all). Creating a new spell is an extraordinary job that relies more on luck and stubbornness than knowledge.

If we represent this in the form of a graph, then we get a huge number of randomly scattered dots and sometimes lines that denote stable vibration words. And everything else is meaningless white noise, which takes up most of the values on the graph. The number of words is huge, but not infinite. The number of words harmonizing with each other is also huge, but not infinite. You can find (imagine) an effect that cannot be reproduced using either a single word or any harmonious combination. And it is impossible to say in advance which effect can be reproduced with the help of words or their combinations, and which cannot. Because the points of stability are scattered in a generally random way.

If the effect of the spell delivered as a projectile or in similar way, two spells colliding can have one of three outcomes: they pass through each other, they cancel each other out, they empower each other in unpredictable ways. Most often the first occurs, and the last is extremely rare event.
