A soldier stood in the middle of Naya Ghar, the warm rain upon his face a welcome reprieve from the heat of the summer, while he held his weapon close, though not at the read. While he was currently guarding a munition storage depot, the whole thing was merely a training exercise, and he was far from any lines or "enemy" combatant. So, for a short moment, a soldier stood in the rain in the middle of Naya Ghar and listened to the city.
In the North, the men and women worked around the clock, the beating heart of industry thumping with every day faster and stronger, a rhythm that would continue for as long as people lived here.
In the East, crews of government employees continued installing cameras on every street and every public place, a slow net of watchful eyes being cast over a city filled with the murmur of unrest.
In the South, unbeknownst to the soldier, a meeting occurred between a woman who had no more tears to give and a man with wares that could not be bought. Come morning; a bomb would be placed and detonated by the shaking hands of a mother who had lost her only child, a daughter, to a government that pressed ever stronger down on those unwilling to bend their backs for those who gave nothing in return. She would be the first to plant a bomb. Her story would inspire more.
In the West, a representative of Feline Metalwork Incorporated shook hands with the general of Praya, the final test of a new technology created in tandem with the government finally finished and ready for mass production.
It was a good day.

Today is a good day. A glorious day even. For what day is better to start building a glorious future then today? It is called a present for a reason!
As for that new tech. All i must say is nice. I wonder if we can paint a fast mobile artillery unit red and slap a tank designation on top of it? It has armor, it shoots the enemy, and it can move on tracks! That's a tank, right? Just increase firing distance with it resulting in a preference for said long range usage! I call that a design quirk. Maybe that is too gamey though...
Edit: Eh... Nvm. We lack the weapon tech for it i think. Oh well. A tank is still useful even if relatively low tech.
Are we still building all the vehicles as support vehicles on tech level C, or has anything improved to D at this point? Also do we have anything other than ICE engines?
Might come up with a tank design of some sort (with a fluffy description too!)
EDIT: @HeroCooky any specific rules for the tech/equipment allowed, and are we assuming that they come with things like ERA/applique armor attachments points, gun stabilizers, and the like?

"STOP THAT MAN!" Damián Fierro ran as fast as he could after the robber, the money was not important, but the fact that they cut up one of the girls during the robbery was. The Police would show up eventually but depending on who the officer was the report would take days to resolve. People would doubt if the Pastor could protect his people and he would take it out on Damian. Being short and round was fine in most cases but the robber was younger, faster and had a lead on him. "STOP THAT THIEF!" , then Damian saw a muscular arm reach out and catch the robber right across the neck, the runner acted like they hit a wall and his head bounced off the street. The runner was stunned but was recovering and trying to get up when I young man placed a large work boot on his chest. "Don't". Damian was able to catch up to the young man and get a few kicks in, picking up the scattered currency just as the police arrived.
As the police took down the report Damian noticed the young man. He looked about eighteen or twenty years old, was 184 centimeters tall and 89 Kilograms of muscle. The Pastor could use a young man like him. After the Police left Damian walked over to him. "Thank you young man, he was a bad man who hurt one of my employees. What is your name? " "Abilio". "Well Abilio. I need to attend to the young woman in the hospital right now but how can I repay you?" "I am looking for work Señor, if you know someone I could talk to let me know." "Look Abilio, I am willing to pay for your meal and if you can work for me this evening . I will also introduce you to my employer tomorrow. Are you ok with that?" Yes, Señor." "I am not a Señor, call me Damian." Yes Damian." "Fine, here's some money for the meal and come with me. " Abilio would walk beside him as they went to the local hospital and visit the woman, one of the dancers that the Pastor employed, and assure her and her mother that all the expenses would be taken care of.
Damian would notify the Pastor about the girl's condition and about Abilio and would stay until they were relieved. They next day Damian would introduce him to the his boss, Donato, who would employ him at the club he ran as Security. This was his probation period and the beginning of his career.
EDIT 2:
I can't really find a designer that has everything we need to design this thing
can someone do the math/crunch for a 65 ton tank with a turret with dual prototype medium lasers, two vehicular grenade launchers (the kind used to launch frag or smoke at short range), and two machine guns with a ton of ammo as well as the new targeting equipment we got. Max armor just about is preferred, with a modern armor scheme (max on turret, front close behind, and then much less on the sides and rear). Speed is meh, go for 3 cruise I suppose. Maybe a ton or 1.5 tons of fuel.
See if you can put the regular targeting computer on it and I'll wait until OP gets back to see about all the other little stuff.
Fluff and design wise, I'm imagining it's an Arjun MBT style vehicle with a low profile and twin linked medium lasers set in the center of the turret, alongside a hatch mounted HMG and a coaxial HMG mounted to the side of the lasers. The turret itself has the semi rounded Soviet look, with slots for big ERA plates, and the observation hatch is offset to accommodate some of the lasers' cooling equipment and power feed. The heat sinks are built on top of the tank behind the turret, sharing some of the exhaust/cooling grate space with the engine, and the vehicle's military designation is MIRAGE due to the wavy heating effect the heat sinks have on the air behind the tank after extended firing.
Are we still building all the vehicles as support vehicles on tech level C, or has anything improved to D at this point? Also do we have anything other than ICE engines?

Unless there is fully electric engine that isn't fusion-based, using ICE as a mechanical stand-in is allowed, I'll change the fluff to show this in post, so to speak.
You are on tech-level C with the exception for the equipment mentioned above, and your new technology.
The vehicles and turret can be whatever you want, there is only the restriction of putting your lasers on the tank.
And you do not have anything other than ICE, unless there is a fully electric engine that isn't fusion-based that I am not aware of.
5. He will hear its lament and bear the burden of seeing it through suffering to come.

Electric engines aka battery engines do exist (along with solar as well), which I assume would be allowed. They're lighter than ICE engines, but have much shorter ranges unless you end up spending enough on "fuel" that they end up being about the same anyway. Solar is massively heavy and basically unusable for anything useful.
There are also Fuel Cell engines, which are better than ICE or Battery engines (though not as good as Fusion). Would they be allowed?
Edit: Forgot about fission engines as well, but while they have basically infinite fuel there are other downsides that make them not super useful.

For the turret, I went pretty minimalist, with the idea that we keep them in at least pairs so they can take advantage of the Prayan Communication Nexus for accuracy bonuses and also help out any nearby vehicles.
Karna tank: I'm assuming we're still under the "It must make more heat than its heatsinks can handle" rule from previously, the Karna tank makes 1 heat per turn when firing it's medium laser, giving it 4 turns before it has to stop or start taking heat penalties. Can now fire it's medium laser as much as it wants
5 Heat Sinks, 0.5 tons Power Converter, 1 ton turret weight
BD
Drona VTOL: Like the Karna, it makes 1 heat when firing it's laser, so 1 heat per turn when firing it's medium laser, giving it 4 turns before it has to stop or start taking heat penalties. Can now fire it's medium laser as much as it wants. In addition to the laser for anti-vehicular work, it also has a machine gun mounted on each side for anti infantry and additional anti vehicle work.
For the Shalya Self Propelled Artillery, it's pretty straightforward. Armor was selected to be enough so that even a direct hit from a Sniper (the current heaviest damage artillery piece, though shorter range than the Thumper) isn't enough to break through to structure in a single hit, and 60 rounds of on-board ammo gives it a good amount of firing even without reloads nearby.

I like the look of all this (despite the fuel cell meta winning lmao), you mind if I put together some fluff descriptions for them?

I'd love it, I'm more of a mechanics person. Also Fuel Cells are just generally better than ICE/Battery unless you're going for maximum cheapness, fuel cells are pretty much the middle point between ICE and Fusion in terms of cost vs effectiveness
Understood, you okay with a more generally 'modern' aesthetic in terms of design doctrine and inspiration?
Oh I understand that, I just like the aesthetic of big rumbling engines and my retarded modern tech brain likes to come up with excuses for why they'd be better in a futile attempt to justify using them.

Understood, give me a few minutes; I'll modify the one I had in mind earlier.
EDIT: @Piell HCV-03A 'Karna'
होम कॉम्बैट आर्म्स लिमिटेड (Home Combat Arms Ltd.)
A vehicle of many firsts for the growing DGP, the 'Karna' is the nation's first homegrown MBT and HCA's first foray into AFVs. The vehicle's profile is based off of the armored designs of Old India, with a Soviet inspired partially rounded turret flush to the hull with attachments points for heavy ERA blocks and a blocky hull with a very flat roof to minimize the chance of rounds striking the thinner armor in the first place. The back of the hull is dominated by a collection of heat sinks and cooling vents for the vehicle's fuel cell.
It utilizes an odd combination of main weaponry; it's main gun is a conventional, motion stabilized 105mm hand loaded smoothbore gun (primarily intended to fire HEDP for use against infantry, fortifications, and soft skinned vehicles, and HEAT for long range anti-armor engagements), but the traditional coaxial machinegun is replaced by the blocky, armored focus of a medium laser. The inclusion of such a large secondary weapon makes the front of the turret somewhat squashed and flat. The laser's coolant and power lines run through the floor of the turret compartment into the hull, and pre-production photos of the thick bundles of cables by the gun's breech were described as 'Frankenstein-like' before proper safety coverings were added.
Anti-infantry armament is provided by a hatch mounted 14.5mm KPV derivative usable by the commander, who is protected by a gunshield and armored 'lip' around his hatch. Additionally, a three tube 40mm grenade launcher is located on the right of the turret, opposite the commander's hatch; common loadouts include airburst fragmentation for emergency anti-infantry use or IR blocking smoke grenades.
The front of the hull incorporates multiple attachments points for ERA or applique armor, and there are hooks along the side for attaching either armored skirts or ERA bricks to protect the tracks or hull itself. Targeting is provided by a long range gun sight with laser range finding capabilities and an integrated suite to calculate ballistic trajectories based upon measured wind speed, air temperature/pressure, and readings from a pendelum static cant sensor.
@HeroCooky btw, is my description of the targetting system accurate to the advanced fire control (it's lifted from modern tanks), or should I go with all the stuff like magnetic detectors and the like that got mentioned in some of the rule books (modern tanks pretty routinely engage each other at 1500~ meters while on the move using mostly visual or unjammable systems so I don't understand why using systems like we have now would impose an actual penalty on gunnery ability, and a quick snippet from the wiki suggests that the subpar/basic fire control of the post 3000's (or at least scavenged partially functional AFT) had difficulty scoring hits on 20 foot tall mechs from 800 meters).
EDIT 2:
I ask this because despite this dismal showing of their effectiveness this is considered to have no penalty to gunnery, while 'basic' fire control gives a penalty of 1, with no inclusion of how effective undamaged star league fire control would be
