[X] [Feline Metalwork Incorporated] Initiative Autobot
[X] [Glowple Worker Cooperative] 5-Year Plan: Terra Firma
The journey took months.
Weeks of nothing but checking the math, aligning the fleet, charging, and then, within one moment of contemptuous disregard for the laws of nature, the fleet blinked, sending out a pulse of light, before it re-appeared around another star, another system, and the process began anew, again and again, ever onward and away from Earth and inhabited space.
It wasn't without cost or perils. Four ships were lost with all hands on deck, their drives suffering missjumps in their plunge into the deep dark, and the names of their crew and passengers recorded to be remembered in a monument many swore to erect on their new home. But, eventually, even the longest journey must come to an end.
With one final flash, the fleet emerged above a Class A Star, its white-blue light gently cradling the exhausted people eager to see their new home for the first time, screens showing diagrams and real-time photos being crowded and eagerly shared across a dozen holds and a hundred hands. And what a system it was!
From the star outwards, a Barren Planet akin to Mars, yet white-grey like Luna, stood imperiously, two moons orbiting it. A wintry spectacle of ice and rock, occasional geysers spewing ice into the void of space, and another one. One that would become their new home, a planet prepared for their settlement by long-sent drones and crew, the early biosphere able to support the colonists as they would begin with the following stages themselves. It wasn't much to look at right now, moss and lichen the highest forms of life, but for those cramped in holds and surrounded by metal and machinery for months? They could already smell the forests, see the mountain ranges covered in jungles, hear the beaches, and could only anticipate feeling solid ground once more, eager to look up and see the asteroid ring surrounding their new home that was but a moon to another planet.
In comparison to the first, the second, a yellow-green Toxic Planet akin to Venus, orbited by another Venus-like moon, with its own sickly brown-yellow coloration, was nothing to write home about. Maybe chemicals or fuel could be gathered here, or some other use could be found, but for now, they were irrelevant.
The following three celestial bodies weren't planets, but Gas Giants, creatively named A, B, and C, respectively, before names could be chosen.
A was a Pink-Red Gas Giant, beautiful rings glittering with ice and minerals, as 34 moons wandered on their endless rounds, wholly uncaring about the fleet slowly setting course for the first planet and its moon.
B stood by, a slow meandering path that went clockwise to the counter-clockwise of the other bodies within the system, the Grey-Brown Giant surrounded by 53 cohorts who marveled and sang silent praises to their rings.
C, on the other hand, flew with sullen and bullish paths, elliptical and rising and dipping above and below the plane of this system, its Brown-Blue hues clashing with their 70 moon's glint and glimmer, their dances long ignored by the Giant.
And yet, if those celestial bodies could speak, they all would have asked themselves...
What names do these people give us?
2-Day Moratorium

Naming Scheme: 4 Hindu/Indian, 3 Spanish, 1 Turkish, 1 Your Choice. The colony must be Hindu/Indian.
Class A Star, White-Blue
Barren - Mars-Like - 2 Moons (Frozen, Terrestrial - Rings)
Toxic - Venus-Like - 1 Moon (Toxic)
Pink-Red Gas Giant A - Rings - 34 Moons
Grey-Brown Gas Giant B - Rings - 53 Moons
Brown-Blue Gas Giant C - Rings - 70 Moons
Now looking at the starting situation for the system there is certainly plenty of potential to be found. That easy access to ice will be quite useful and the gases from those gas giants could be as well depending on their chemical make-up. Shame about those lost ships but oh well. I wonder if they were guaranteed to happen or was based on a secret roll? As for names i am terrible at naming things. My first thoughts is use inspiration from Hindu or potentially even Buddhist Mythology for names but i am unsure. Would Buddhist inspired names fit in the indian category?
You are at the tail-end of the First Diaspora, and have zipped straight to the left edge of the modern map, near the 3000BC border of the FWL. You were bound to lose some.
And Bhuddist inspired names...eh, sure? I'm not an expert, if it remains plausible you can go for it.
You can do that, the moratorium is to prevent people from choosing one set of names now and sticking to them. It also allows people to debate their choices and names.
Tried to challenge myself to come up with a full set of names that aren't just pulled from mythology, though I ended up just plugging things into google translate to see if whatever came out sounded good. Here's what I've managed to come up with so far, decided to use the free choice as another Turkish name since why not?
Good names though the name for the 3rd gas giant is a bit weird i feel. It could work but a word meaning wanderer feels lacking for a planet name to me...

Yeah, that one came about since it's the gas giant that doesn't even try to orbit in the same plane as the others iirc, even #2 orbits retrograde in the same inclination. #3 otoh is the one that goes somewhat over and under the orbital plane.

First update was talking about all the fighting going on in the 31st century, but then we immediately shot back to the colonizing of the system which apparently happend towards the end of the First Exodus. I don't know if we're going to stay back here in the timeline, or if the QM is going to have us speedrun through our history for a while to sometime in the future.
Had some more name ideas too:
[] [Class A Star] Nueva Estrella (Spanish - new star)
[] [Class A Star] Taaron Ka (Hindu - starlight)
[] [1st Planet - Barren] Çoban (Turkish - shepherd)
-[] [1st Moon - Frozen] Bahan (Hindu - sister)
-[] [2nd Moon - Colony] Aasha (Hindu - hope)
[] [2nd Planet - Toxic] Chamak (Hindu - glows)
-[] [Toxic Moon]
[] [1st Gas Giant] Atardecer (Spanish - sunset)
[] [2nd Gas Giant]
[] [3rd Gas Giant] Avare (Turkish - wanderer)
General thoughts behind them were:
New Star - mostly ribbing on how often new places are just named New "X" to call our new star literally that. Calling it Taaron Ka for starlight did catch my attention too though.
Shepherd - because as the planet our colony is orbiting it could be seen a shepherding our moon through the solar system.
Sister - it's our sister moon orbiting the first planet.
Hope - general optimistic name that comes from everyone hoping that things will be better here.
Glows - joke arising from the idea that it's so toxic it "glows in the dark."
Sunset - big red-pink gas giant has similar colors.
Wanderer - significantly off the orbital plane compared to everything else, having it wander off the beaten path. Or maybe it was a rogue planet that got captured?
So basically we make our character during the galactic expansion era then we fast forward to the original BT setting during the 4th/5th succession war?

So just to clarify we're on the FWL's western border near where the Marian Hegemony, Lothian League, Illyrian Palatinate are around? or are we on the inner edge of the FWL's borders and more near it's border with the Terran hegemony on the other Great houses?
A bit above and to the left of those, but yes. Your fleet didn't just fuck off, you straight up peace'd out.
(Wouldn't be much of a quest if you get got by one of the House Fuckers within 200 years of settling, would it?)
