Yes, but the answer is useless to us without the verifiables. Simply put the spiders aren't going to be able to fact check the rock on the intricacies of it's abilities and intentions because they're not going to know. Start with the stuff we can cross check and then get into the stuff we're going to have to extend trust on.
 
It is unknown how the Meteor can communicate to Chiyome, Tomoe, and the previous Meteor Warden. If i had to guess, it might be a genjutsu akin to how the Yamanaka can do telepathy, but take that with a grain of salt. Whether or not this is learnable, or if the Meteor has limitations to their communication is another matter.

I think that the Meteor can communicate with Chiyome because Chiyome's Father underwent Meteor Training before he had her--that all children of shinobi that have underwent Meteor Training inherit a connection to the Meteor.

The meteor dream doesn't *seem* like the meteor deliberately reaching out to us so much as us just being linked somehow and our subconscious following it when we got knocked out. But we don't know enough about how it works.

I'm inclined to believe that the meteor is being honest. Everything it's said has been provably true by Chiyome (ninjustsu aggravates meteor sickness), or we know out of character to be correct (chakra comes from space tree for sinister purposes).

If it could affect people or their thought processes, it wouldn't have let meteor training get put on hold, or let us experiment on it at all.

The options literally says we are asking about the Meteor's story, I don't know why some people would think asking about the Tree would be more elucidating. We were already given a brief summary we can work on, just ask them about that.

Similarly, we should ask it about its connections to the Meteor Trained and its nature, if only so we can independently verify or test it empirically.
 
Because the tree is a bigger influence than the rock. The spiders are more likely to be able to fact check, if only because they're not having to sort out as many generations of distortion. It's also the most fantastical and hard to swallow claim. Get that verified and we get major progress towards trusting the rock, or get it refuted and we can start warming up the drills.

We OOC know that the Tree is bad because of metagaming, but just confirming that it was a thing doesn't clarify the Meteor's implications that it was an enemy, especially if the Tree has become associated with the Sage of Six Paths; for all Chiyome knows the Meteor could be the real parasite.
 
It confirms that the rock isn't spinning a fantasy tale. I don't think you understand the situation: the tree being a thing and the rock's date of arrival may well be the only things we can confirm one way or another because the spiders aren't going to know about the rock much more than we do, possibly less. The purpose of investigating the tree is to establish if it lied about that part in order to see if it's trying to pull a fast one. We can't confirm or refute most of the rest of it's story.

We don't know that for sure. They seemed to be aware or at least unsruprised that it was alive and had a name, and given they've been around for a while they might have some insights into it's past behaviors and the behaviors of Hoshi that it may have influenced.
 
Why would they have insight into our village? They're good, but they're not Hyuuga tier Intel gathering.

The tree is bigger and more influential according to the rock. It's the whole basis of it's story. Anything internal to the rock is going to be unverifiable unless we have some sort of meteor proof yamanaka. The tree is a large external event.
 
The rock was here before the village; significantly so I suspect. Why would be the ones with the most knowledge about when we basically knew nothing about it on quest start and only gained the ability to communicate with it 2 years ago?
