Magical Girl Flesh Horror~!

Masterfully done acting Scarlet, like a true Spy.

I am worried about the fact that Super Spy has an Immutable, but unless it decides to full on work against us, it's most likely something to be worked with.

Well it was feeling like Super Spy was gonna be our unique high-investment super unit anyway, we can still work with this.

And I'm hardly broken up about Sabrina, she was pretty clearly a dealer. But hey, she has experience! She can teach us how to make connections and work amongst the underworld. Form a magical girl gang.

(Super Spy gains the Immutable Keyword: Faint Soul)

Oh.

Well, good to learn this this way? I think we might just have had our first real child….

Well, now, Miss Scarlet! Why didn't you open with that? All this unpleasantness could have been avoided

"And you were just threatening me, like you were trying to, to, kill me or something!"

And now, no matter his level of empathy, he's going to feel like shit, if he has enough, then he's going to react t our tearful reaction, if he doesn't have much, he's going to react to the missed opportunity of studying us.

Probably used it to trick people into working with him or some shit.

Let's see, magical venom used to make drugs? I can see several things he could have done with it, he could have used them as you say, convincing people under altered mental states, he did prove he was willing to. He could also have used them to test the difference in how they affect people with and without souls. I'm sure there are other things.

If, uh, if you don't wanna see me again

Well then, all in accord of going to see her soon, hands up!

*raise his hand*

If our super spy becomes an independent entity will they be considered as our child, will we have to be a responsible parent now?

Good to see I wan't the only one who thought in these lines, and yes, of course we'll make sure to be a responsible parent! We'll ask Ma for advice, maybe even some others in the streets (can you imagine the reaction is someone come to you to ask if you know how to take care of children as a parent and when you ask they answer that you're talking to both the parent and child right now).

Maybe we should have gone with faux soul or artificial soul or something.

Faux soul maybe, pretty sure artificial soul would have either ended up the same or worse because Hermann might have seen it was artificial.

Can't be sure, and it happened, we'll have to live with it it seems.

When we have time we should get some keywords like Researcher, Soul Manipulator, and Soul Healer and figure out what happened. Maybe we can figure out a way to re-merge the super spy back into us. Or regenerate whatever we lost.

Definitely. After our debut? Or maybe before if we think we have enough time for it?

Actually, maybe better before since we do want to attack a place that's all about souls… 🤔

So, what do people think about Sabrina? I think the reaction is mostly positive to neutral from the comments, but how do we synthetize that into a coherent point of view for Scarlet?

[] …swaying to the rhythm of her heart.

I mean, I'm honestly pretty sure she's probably done some fucked up things, she all but admits it, but if she's trying to be better (Aka forced to be better by having to run from the fuzz) then, like! Yay?

Honestly I see literally nothing morally or ethically wrong about what she was doing, and I mean, we're obviously going to overthrow this shambling horror of a state in favor of Luxury Automated Meat Communism once we get Big enough, so why would we not stick with her?

The main question on whether or not her previous action were reprehensible morally is dependent on how addictive her drug is, the more it is, the worse it becomes, but I anticipate something along the line of smoking or maybe alcohol (who is a far more dangerous drug than most people think), the way she decided to do it and the original reasons definitely means all she needs to do to repent is help us make the streets better.

Which she is, so….

Formatting then, something like:

[] You don't have many problems with what Sabrina did, and she can actually help you get contacts, she seems sincere in her desire to help and in her repentance. You still want to be her friend!

What do you think? Too verbose? Not enough? I can probably stretch it till it's four paragraph longs if you want. :V

She did say that she gave only alcohol and cigarettes to teens, which implies she sold harder stuff to adults. But she also said she kept the worse drugs out of the area, so that's fine by me.

Kept the harder stuff - the tainted stuff out of the neighborhood, didn't sell anything besides cigarettes and alcohol to the teens who came to me, and if they joined up, I kept them outta harms way.

Well then, voting open, let's begin the same song and dance as always:

[x] You don't have many problems with what Sabrina did, and she can actually help you get contacts, she seems sincere in her desire to help and in her repentance. You still want to be her friend!

[x] …swaying to the rhythm of her heart.

Frankly, I would encourage voters to propose their own versions there, this is the kind of vote where multiple point of view are most beneficial.

[x] …swaying to the rhythm of her heart.

[x] You're still her friend, even if you don't know how to feel about drugs. Weren't there worries about what something was doing to your new friend who lives in an apartment near you? Was she helping other people do that, if it is something harmful? But she's not doing it anymore, and she's helped you so much...

[x] While a lesser evil is still evil, you were still trying to do what you could for those around you, and in your own way was fighting for your own justice.

[x] …swaying to the rhythm of her heart.

[X] To be honest you already suspected her of having a criminal past but it's over and she's been nothing but good to you so you don't mind much.

[X] …late to class!

I figured there might be risks to making a soul. Though I did think it might become a separate entity immediatly if it was going to happen at all. Kind of suprised Herman bought it so easily actually.

Also going around as an apparent young girl asking how to be a good parent is going to raise all sorts of red flags to any responsible adults.

[X] Being a criminal...wasn't the best, but it sounds like she was stepping up to make thing better even if it was against the law- and that is something you can get behind. Predators sounded like a bunch of bad news the way everyone else talked about them, so occupying the space they would fill to keep them out sounds pretty reasonable- and she took care of the people that trusted her to lead them, and yeah! That's absolutely the right thing to do! The drug dealing sounds icky, but something doesn't go away just because you don't want it there and if you can't get rid of it then having a hand (or tendril in your case) wrapped around it so you could police it better than the guard could is definitely second best.

Feel better to parcel out all the subject matter brought up by sssslickers rather than just brushing over it, or making a generalizing vote without room for nuance. I'd rather the vote provide Scarlett Genesis more of a scaffolding for future actions & opinions.

Can't say I'm a major fan of us getting semi-autonomous drones, feels real rare for a single-entity hivemind to remain just that. I'd have doubled down on the no-soul thing by going for the angle of "Of course I didn't bring the high-value product to negotiations set in badly reputed party's territory." and claim to be someone else who understands the real value of a soul.

Regardless, I wasn't there for the vote so it's a moot point.

[X] You are honestly surprised Sabrina isn't still selling drugs. Didn't she just provide Martin with medicine. Isn't that a drug? Yes, there seems to be some question of what is and is not legal, but Herman's soul theater is perfectly legal. So clearly the law is not a good judge of morality. And it didn't seem as if Sabrina was hurting anyone. She was filling a niche. Doing her best to help herself and other make a living using her own unique biological products. Aren't you planning to do the same?

I will clarify, since there seems to be some confusion, that Super Spy is nowhere near sentient - Doesn't have a brain, after all! There's the bio-magical equivalent of a radio reciever instead. It's just got a shard of your soul in it, is all. If it gets cut off from your broadcaster, maybe it could stumble around mutely for a few minutes like a chicken with its head cut off, or finish an action it was already taking (poorly) before collapsing like a puppet with cut strings. If you created sentient life, I would very firmly let you know, and Super Spy ain't it. Yet, of course!

Hey boss, real quick, is approval voting in effect- or is that a no-go?

Don't think I didn't see that, you little you!

That's probably the first steps that would lead to making actual independent life, or something like it, isn't it?

But it does seem like we'd need to try and go for it to reach this point, probably by adding terms like independent, sapient, true soul, offshoot, offspring to the creation, or adding terms like mother on us before making the creation.

It appears we have a tie on interlude and a three way tie on how to react to our friend, thought the second is less of a problem since the general sentiments is the same.
