Succubusekai: The Demoness Just Wanted To Stay With Her Friends! [Original-Ish] [Quest]

[X] (Paladin Style) Ionian Laser - Rather than tanking in the direct style, Ionian Paladins toss shields up on allies that deflect a majority of damage over to themselves, combined with self-healing on dealing damage.

[X] (Paladin Style) Flammite AAAAAAGH - Special potions give you extreme self buffs while wearing no armor and wielding only boxing gloves or similar to punch your foes until, at least if they're undead, they catch on fire.

Ninjas can't catch you if you're on fire.

A speed focused dodge-tank specialized in rapid repositioning for battlefield control and divine wind magic, most famously enhanced wind wards that foil ranged attacks or redirect them back at enemies. Expect anime shenanigans

When you say "anime shenanigans," are you talking the normal "I redirected your arrow back at your face" level of shenanigans, or Joseph Joestar tier "not only has the arrow been redirected at your face, but you were actually shooting at my reflection in a mirror and while we were talking I somehow managed to drop a hand grenade down your pants, it's been nice knowing you" shenanigans?

Or is that just a function of character level?

Wearing no armor. *wink* *wink* *nudge* *nudge*

I think the non-meme name of the Flammite AAAAAARGH is the "Flammite Maenid."

Pleasant dreams y'all.

I assume this is a deliberate deviation on AWoO's part from the classical spelling, 'maenad?'

Obviously this is a function of character level ;p
Edit: more seriously I've never seen a dodge tank paladin build, and not enough people do cool things with wind over the more flashy elements.

It's a different sort of satisfying, you think. Perhaps in time, you'll find someone, but not yet. And probably not Frisky Fox or Gamer Succubutt. No offense to either of your allies, of course, but seriously, that level of thirsty is a bit much…
Aww, damn.

As much as I love floof in general, the combination of a righteous paladin and a "reformed" demoness (does it count as being reformed if you just got slammed by a lifetime of being a mostly decent human being with modern morals to drown out the ten years of being a regular evil succubus?) rather tickles my fancy as well.

There's a reason I have an original character elsewhere whose core thing is being part Wind Elemental.

It is a fun seed and it's not Out Of Range. But Helen definitely has room to kinda poke Senaz for, you know. The noise made.

[X] (Paladin Style) Runic Style - Create magical barricades to deflect (some) AoEs to fire off towards no one. Unfortunately, it's a great way to break the eggs on the edge of the fight.

With an excellent meme name like that, the others never stood a chance. :V

I'm putting into the notes that there's probably a few other meme names for Paladin specs, but honestly, Senaz being a FISTADIN (which actually does exist in at least D&D Online, though there it's not potion-fueled and involves less fire) is too fun to pass up.

Whoops, tuned out of SV for too long and missed this, but I would have been interested in seconding something like this. Anyone who was around in Final Fantasy XI's heyday in the mid-aughts might remember Ninja operating as a tank (poor raw defense, but high evasion and illusion ninjutsu that blocked attacks). Maybe someone else will end up using this build somewhere.

Putting on the record that I'm sorry for the slowdown; a lot's been happening that's put my intellectual juices on hold.

For now, I'm reconsidering on a system change pending WotC getting dragged further closer to a proper OGL. (I'm going to also ask that people not go on a tear on 1.2 here; use the official feedback forum and (not or) channels that target more than like 15 readers please!) That said, the next few posts it won't even matter. And the post is progressing, just much slower than usual.

Thank you for your patience.

Probably for the best to do the system change anyway. WotC has a proven willingness to fuck around, and getting caught in the blast radius of them being unstable wannabe monopolists at a future date sounds like more trouble than it's worth.
