Bloody Evolution (RWBY / LoR)

"How droll," she judges your plan. "You are far too skittish, but very well. It is serviceable." Then, leaning back, her customary cheshire grin makes a return. "And 'Watts', you say?"

Figures I'd forget something so exploitable.

Edit: I should've probably given some instructions on how exactly I wanted Courage and Ash to plan their routes, but it didn't really matter in the end, so that's fine. Penny didn't fix the robots in the end, but I didn't really plan for her to play hero, either. All in all, I'd say the plan went smoothly.

No wonder Binah complained about it.

Hm. It doesn't really seem like we're going to get the Magical Girls in a place where they aren't a danger to Remnant, which is a shame. I'd like to let them stay if they wanted to, but if Queenie is still a city-destroying threat I'm not sure that's wise.

I wonder how Saffron and Militia are doing. Maybe she wants to come with us, instead?

She obtained it over the course of her long life.
A half-truth.
By standard definition, it is a lie. Angela was born with the gift of free will. For the man who created her was far too delusional to truly bind his "lover" to a slave collar. It is only after everything is said and done did the man realize his folly in grief and sorrow.

Yet it is also a truth if you view it from the point of a human will. That Angela didn't have any choice in anything she did, trapped in that once cold and dark, then bright shrouded in fog, tower of her creator, and her own.

: If only you could have deceived that A.I's creators as well as you are doing now. Truly, a pity how arrogance can bring one so low.
: It does seem like she is returning to the Library.
: I fail to see how the book of that Witch will aid them in a rebellion against us.
: Merely futile struggles of a rusted machine, dear Baral. Merely futile struggles.

Binah welcomes Penny around ten; the cheerful girl apparently told her door too let her out when the time came.

Yeah, *keeping a technopath emprisoned 101* use a freaking normal lock on the door. It's the same kind of problem as some sci-fi shows insistance on only using lasers to keep prisoners.

"You seem brighter of late,"

"Unfortunately, her Library is worlds away." Binah chuckles and empties her cup again. "She has never once set foot upon Remnant and likely never will. Even now she is bound to the place that she was once built to administrate. Unless you were willing to leave this world when the time for my return comes, you will never meet her."

New librarian get!

This child will remain.

Boo!

A Fairy slices through the lot in streaks of gold before they can shoot her again. Each one is reduced into dozens of parts that clutter on the ground. Penny stares at them forlornly, then turns to Binah. "What is going on?"

The fun has begun, that's what.

Then a third salvo from above shreds the block containing the SDC dwelling, setting off its Dust stores. A horrible explosion rocks the entire city and flaming rubble flies everywhere.

I hereby declare the SDC just as responsible for all damages as the military! No, even more!

"Quick," Penny starts to shout, only for pink light to part the heavens in two. She falls silent as Love's first contribution to the battle ends it; Arcana Slave slices right through two destroyers and the flagship. The air screams under her reality-bending might and people across Vale watch in awe. Once again the light of magic shines on Remnant.

Love was always going to be effective in the plan, but it's a good thing we moved Penny, if she had been in the flagship....

It will serve as a constant reminder of today's events, too.

Let's take a picture, make a slogan about it being Ironwood fault, then spread it on the net!

It has not been ten minutes since the attack begun. The threat has passed, but damages are great and panic still spreads. That is, until Ash's song begins to sound across all of Vale. She stands somewhere around Beacon, high enough for nothing to impede her flute's clarion call. The song is delayed, but that will only sell her having to reach higher ground first.

Well, look a this, the attack is finished and the Atlesians were about as effective as a bunch of rocks, almost as if it was enemy action, or they were incompetent, or both, actually, make it both. :V

"Oz, you can't seriously put any worth into this woman's assessment of the situation!" Ironwood almost pleads with his fellow headmaster, equal parts worried and wary. He knows that his own word is suddenly suspect, but he also knows Binah has every reason to hold a grudge. She is the very last person he wants to speak on his behalf. Alas, the older man is unmoved.

That spectacle is a delight.

Similar goes for Binah, really. The plan she was told saw about propping Penny up by having her disarm the robot uprising. Yet without the gynoid ever remembering or perhaps even knowing about the server's existence, she lacked the excuse to send her there. Then again, this result is perfectly acceptable.

Yeah, it is a pity, but it happened and the main objective was met, the secondary one not being done is not the worst thing that could've happened, far from it.

"You do not seem the type to let another order you around," Arthur observes clinically. In turn, Binah's smirk grows a size.

"They have yet to ask me for anything I do not want to do."

"...that makes sense."

Also, we are not ordering her around, merely offering counsel please don't hurt me Binah, I'll grovel if necessary.

We are approaching the finale. As such, you receive an open vote here; it serves as a bit of a wish-list. If there was something along the way that I forgot to conclude, or something you wanted to see, write it in here. Just keep in mind that I am not going to start a new story arc, so it should not be anything too big.

Of note, the golden light experiments with Courage will be finished before the finale either way.

I'm thinking taking care of the SDC if it doesn't take too much time, but it probably would, so... giving some advices to Winter and Weiss?

Making the girls more stable is going to be difficult before going back, I think it may be better to have it be worked on in the epilogue.

Figures I'd forget something so exploitable.

I am pretty sure my plan also had it in it too, and it isn't really a problem, Binah did find it funny.

Honestly, considering how smooth and painless the whole thing went, I'm pretty sure its the only reason Binah went along with my plan.

It also proves that, unlike most Ruina players, Binah can read.

Edit: I'll add in some bits before the moratorium ends:
  • We should figure out what the fuck is happening with the Jester. or at least find out where he is.
  • I'm fine with leaving the MGs in Remnant as they are now. Love already showed they can communicate with their other halves, and while that's not full control like Ai had at the end of ItNoLaH that gives some hope they'll be able to get it together. The Agony shards are a problem, but one that is unlikely to come up. Unless they wake up when they find out Ash is leaving, anyway.
  • I regretfully realize that we have hung out with Anemone the least out of all the MGs. Which is a shame, because she's my favorite out of everyone here. Literally everything about her is great.
  • Who the fuck is Blake?
  • We never got to meet Merlot! It's too late now, but I kinda wished we had a pet mad scientist.

looks like we're nearing the end, i'd still like to kill some more people; blake, winter, whitley, the ace ops, jester, the tiny woman whose name i can't remember, jaune, raven, Lion heart, and maybe some random civilians.

But overall i think advancing and finishing this whole ordeal up right away is ideal for completing this mission since we lack any pressing matters.

Unless things go absolutely pear-shaped with trying to Book Salem then it seems like we're leaving them Jester and an uncontrolled Grimm population.

Those seem like problems we should at least meddle in a little bit, but idk.

He hesitates for but a moment, belying his wariness. Perhaps he expects to be struck down at any moment. His words remain even, however: "First I need to report back to my employer. See if I can leave that job sometime this year. After that, I do not rightly know yet."
"Hey Evil overlady boss, here's my resignation letter." I doubt that this will go well, but his interestingness has likely been spent now.

I'm happy that he's been convinced to help in Menagerie, good job Courage.

Well, it has been two hours. Vote away, everyone!

In fairness, no one but Binah and Penny actually knew her Semblance. Girl knew full well she would get a physical lock keeping her contained instead of an electrical one if she spilled.

[X] No, continue once you're ready

If there's one thing I learned about SV, is that making the first vote often means everyone follows along like the children of Hamelin.

Last chance for a Faun redemption arc and not having this work be completely being anti Faun.

[X] Yes
-[X] The black cat has been taught a lesson, but we've never seen the result.
--[X] Maybe maybe she needs a little poke in one direction or another to return to an interesting path. She could become with Ruby's uncle depending on her disposition, maybe you can get her to join with Ironwood somehow in growing over her failure or maybe you can think of something more entertaining.

Shouldn't your vote be for "Yes" there is unfinished business in that case?

You're right, thanks you.

Nah, let them deal with it.

Also, I am pretty sure we'll meet the Jester on our way to Salem anyway.

In fairness, no one but Binah and Penny actually knew her Semblance. Girl knew full well she would get a physical lock keeping her contained instead of an electrical one if she spilled.

It was more a remark on what would've actually kept her locked, contrary to the laser example, they at least had a reason to think it would work here.

As someone who just been passively reading the thread, I would like to point out something.

Wasn't Binah excited about experimenting with the Light and Dust?

Figured you guys would want to finish that before the booking.

[X]Whatever we decide on, we're not leaving you alone until we get to see the look on Roland's face when you present him with his revived unborn daughter.
-[X] and then the look on his face when he realizes he now owes you a favor/debt of gratitude.
