She is likely to feel more comfortable around Dynasts with less exalted names and her + Ambraea go well together. Adding more combat power does little good and V'neef and Tepet are already tied together by V'neef's husband so the broader social gain is minimal as well. Amiti needs more practice/time before she starts on climping cliffs.

I mean, Peleps Nazri has a very long way to go before he ranks the same as Peleps Deled in my eyes but I fully understand why Abraea went after Nazri there.

Deiza Simendor feels like she came right out of Girl Genius and I really wonder what exactly is her issue with traditional dynastic values because her reading this much into Ambraea's reaction suggests it is rather more important than I would have thought.
My take on it is that Deiza arrived with a bit of a chip on her shoulders, hoping to show everyone that her families sorcery is amazing, and to not be particularly liked because of flouting traditions. When Ambraea went and bonded with a dangerous Elemental, Deiza possibly imagined that that she might be a kindred spirit.

From there Deiza developed her own sorcery talents, and expected to get along with Ambraea, but her impoliteness and showboating rubbed Ambraea the wrong way, and then familiarity allowed Deiza to realise that Ambraea was a mostly by the book girl, with her lack of bias being the exception.

The problems arose when Ambraea was critical of Deiza, which she decided to take as objection to her families sorcery practices rather than her lack of manners. Deiza took this as a betrayal because of previous expectations based on Ambraea initially being polite before Deiza acquired her Sorcery, and developed her current rude behavior. It's easy to understand why she might think that given the timing, and how a awkward genius with clear social issues might dismiss a little thing like manners as mattering all that much and conclude that the issue is with her skills instead.

"Right, because that's really the problem, isn't it? Don't give me that, you don't give a shit about 'unwomanly' — you'd just love it if I were polite and sweet and pliant, so you could condescend to treat me with basic decency. The gracious Imperial daughter, deigning not to talk down to her lessers! I'm not Erona. Why don't you just stop dancing around things with her, by the way? Do you think she'd say no? Do you think she wouldn't just lay back and let you do whatever you wanted, so she could get a pat on the head from her family?"
This is just such a powerful invective. Deiza is bringing the heat. This was a great update!

A fun thing with Amiti and Sola and cliffs is that Air Aspects are immune to being hurt by falls, and can just sort of gracefully float down from great heights.

People are correct insofar as Maia is a much better climber, specifically, if that ended up being what's required though.

[X] Amiti

I don't really expect her to win, but all the scenarios involving a first circle necromancer on a rock-climbing adventure seem hilariously mismatched and amusing to me.

What crawled up Deiza's ass and died, anyway? I don't feel like Ambraea paid her enough attention for them to develop such a mutual loathing. Maybe that's the problem?

Well, she was supposed to be the most special and interesting student in her year, at least in the world of her expectations of the Heptagram, but then we stole her thunder. Being different and special seems very important to her self-worth, which would make our very presence a direct attack on her pride. This is all just speculation on my part, though.

[x] Sola

Amiti is best girl but Sola is a boss. Definitely the one I'd most trust to have our back

[x] Amiti

The proverbial "always a bridesmaid, never a bride". She should definitely get a little more focus. And Maia doesn't need the help to show up a lot; she just won the romance vote, so she'll get screentime anyway.
