Age of Ice and Blood: A Pathfinder System Heroic Fantasy Quest

It seems the situation gets... complicated.
"[] Write in battle plan" hints that it's too late for diplomacy.

[X] Goldfish

It's good to have a high will saves.
Yep. We've done all we can reasonably manage to boost Roland's Will saves given the setting's limitations and his level.

With the various bonuses applied, including Esha's Soulward and Pride Leader's Stance, Roland will have a +9 bonus on Will saves vs Mind-Affecting effects and a +13 bonus vs Fear effects. That's pretty damned good for a 5th level melee-focused character with a Wisdom attribute of 10.

Wanderer isn't quite so high, but even with a Wisdom of 8, he'll have a +4 bonus vs Mind-Affecting effects and a +8 vs Fear effects, thanks in part to Roland's Stance.

Is +15 vs fear.
Wanderer's will save is.. not great. But it is what it is.
Morale bonuses don't stack, so Roland currently caps at +13 vs Fear, I think.

Wanderer's +4 vs Mind-Affecting stuff isn't as good as Roland, but for a 2nd level character with 8 Wisdom it's outstanding.

Maybe we should try to take Hollow alive (I mean, unconcious/helpless, but alive)? Because after Hollow's death Beast will receive a boost, and this is unnecessary. And all we need to do is to include Hollow under the effect of Indomitable Presence which gives Die Hard feat.

-[X] "Beware, she is the monster's master and an enchantress herself!" Roland exclaims to everyone nearby.
-[X] Esha uses her Soulward ability as a Swift Action to bolster Roland's Will saves and targets the Hollow with a Blindness spell.
-[X] Inge targets the Hollow with a Snowball spell.
-[X] Zaia drinks a Targeted Bomb Admixture extract in preparation for targeting the Hollow with a Tanglefoot Firebomb next round.
-[X] Wanderer Rages as a Free Action then Charges the Hollow using Reckless Abandon, intending to Bullrush it away from Odorin.
-[X] Roland (assuming her is in Pride Leader's Stance and using Indomitable Presence) uses Encouraging Roar as a Swift Action and follows in Wanderer's footsteps, Charging the Hollow using the Panthera on the Hunt maneuver.
-[X] The soldiers and guards continue their assigned tasks and the Hunters move to engage the Hollow or prepare to deal with the Beast, as they choose.

Arc 15 Post 43: Faces of Ruin
A Pyre for Two

Eight of Olweje-hamba (Olweje Descendent), 1349 A. L. (After Landfall)

Claws of rusted iron slide aside off the shield blessed of Olweje, but alas the foe is swift and cunning as it is cruel, the other claw reaches out under the shield and strikes the grieve just above the knee, cutting through iron as though it were leather and slicing into the flesh below. Rather than simply rip and tear it grabs your leg and throws you to the ground with bone-jarring force

You take 9 Damage
You are prone

If you are to be a thorn in the thing's foot then so be it, as it. As it starts to lunge over you you raise Durendal in an arc that severs one of the thick curling tentacles sending itend flying and charred. As its unnatural eye turns to look at your with inscrutable purpose all that lights in it is flame. The beast burns as though it had been dipped in whale oil, its thrashing casting globe of burning inchor though the room. One of them strikes you in the face, adding the flesh pain to the aches in your bones.

"For Verley and for Saint Nicholas!" you call out as Inge's ice flashes unearthly white, too bright to be any natural color and slams into the thing's head.

The strange women, the husk as she had been called by the hunters meanwhile throws herself upon the burning beast arms wide as though embracing a lover, though there are tears in her eyes.

Bone shatters and reforms, flesh warps and shifts, but before you can see what fresh horror can rise from the pyre Esha's spell is cast upon the air again true. You feel it in your mind... and you feel also that you do not have much longer to kill this thing. Pushing Odorin aside you spring yo your feet and stab with Durendal point first.

You're trying to kill a man not skewer a roast on a spit, the cutting remark of the old master of arms at Verley when you were a boy rises to the surface of your thoughts, but this is not a man. You slice open unnatural flesh and carve open veins with blood all too red, you slice tendons and carve into an opening cage of ribs.

A whistling by your ear is the only mark of another dart from the hunter, another that finds its mark, then finally, mercifully the mass of distended flesh shudders and is still but for the crackling of the flames. Then the boy Odorin throws himself on it as though wanting to immolate himself along with his would-be bride

"Do someth..." before you can even get the words out Esha had spoken again a spell of slumber and the boy goes limps as you pull him away from the flames.

What do you do next?

[] Stay at Odorin's side when he wakes, you hope the Fellowship's alliance will be strengthened by what transpired by this ordeal (House Koire Reward)

[] Go with the hunters to check on the unnatural pair's possessions and learn more about them (Hunter Reward)

OOC: And done. About the vote, you will get some rewards and recognition from the option you do not pick, but the main thrust of it will depend on what you pay the most attention to over the next few hours. House Koire is in shambles again and the hunters are quick to leave now that their job is done so both of them will remember who you stuck with in the aftermath.

Whew, good job, Esha. If this thing has 3rd level psionics on top of whatever other nastiness it can dish out, being Blinded might be what keeps it from really mindfucking us.

I don't necessarily trust Zaia's bomb to hold the Beast in place, though it is certainly possible, but rather really, really don't want Roland to disarm himself in the middle of the fight like this. Even if the Beast isn't trapped, Zaia will still be able to do a hefty amount of Fire damage to it.

[X] Trust Zaia's concoction and keep fighting the beast
-[X] Roland Power Attacks the Beast and uses his Iron Shell maneuver as an Immediate Action to attempt to deflect an attack from the creature that would have otherwise been successful.
-[X] As soon as she is able, Esha targets the Beast with a Blindness spell, unless it has somehow been slain before it is her turn again. If the Beast has been dealt with, she targets the Hollow with a !which Missiles spell. She continues renewing Roland's Soulward throughout the fight.
-[X] Inge targets the Beast with a Snowball spell if Zaia isn't able to bind it in place. If he succeeds, she instead targets the Hollow with a Web spell. Blinded as it is, being trapped in the Web should greatly ease the efforts to slay it. She'll target the spell in such a way as to avoid Odorin, if at all possible.
-[X] As soon as he is able, Wanderer re-engages the Hollow, unless Inge has successfully Webbed it. In that case, he instead joins in the fight against the Beast.
