Teaching the Next Generation To Blame Danzo: A Jounin Sensei Quest (A Naruto AU)

[X] Plan: Genin wrangling always makes you hungry and somehow this is Danzos fault
-[x] Kidnap them: You are going to cut out the middle man, and maybe see if they can get themselves out of a situation where they are in danger.
-[x] To a Restaurant: You are hungry, they will be too, so might as well kill two birds with one stone

Because it's not a proper Naruto series without an openly quirky and alternately antagonistic/kind-hearted sensei.

Also, @Magoose , you did it this time for which I am thankful, but I would like to request you continue remembering to include the winning vote in your subsequent updates - makes it a hell of a lot easier for the readers to remember what's going on.

You looked at Iruka who was cross at the words you had just told him. "You want to what?"

"Kakashi isn't teaching students this year, and Team 3 will be the last team announced due to your shinnanigans. I'm very much exercising the rights as their sensei." You replied. "There are some things that must do if the kids are going to survive."

"Yes, and forcing them into a dangerous situation, no matter how controlled, is an excellent idea." Sarcasm was dripping from his voice. "However, there is something you are missing. They will try to kill you to escape."

You smiled. "You're acting like Shiro, Iruka, that is not something I consider a compliment."

Iruka gritted his teeth. "Must I remind you of Ayako's adventures?"

"I'm not trying to steal the bloodlines, or trying to harm them." You replied. "I just want to surprise them."

"They won't know the difference," Iruka replied. "No wonder you Jounin have a minimum sanity requirement because you are all insane."

You frowned. "I take offense to that Iruka, you aren't a jounin, you don't get to judge us and our quirks."

"Yes, and kidnapping children is truly a normal thing a ninja should do," Iruka stated. "Are you trying to emulate Orochimaru?"

That made you squeeze your hand into a fist. "I'm trying to make them be better." You stated as you allowed chakra to leak out. "Never question that my friend. You may care for their safety but know this. I care for their safety as well… even more than you."

You left Iruka silent and thinking.

"What the hell is going on!" Naruto screamed as you finally let them go from their woody, snaky prison, at the table you were waiting for and pulled off the black bags over their heads. All three of them looked completely confused at what they were seeing.

Hikaru was nice enough to give you his best table, and leave the windows open so you could send them down without causing a scene at the main entrance.

Every one of your genin was disoriented, well in various stages of it, because as they all looked like they had been through this kind of kidnapping before.

Naruto was completely awake, not even a hint disoriented, while he seemed ready to throw hands and otherwise protect his new teammates, even Sasuke, which interested you. The two were rivals of a sort, but that was just because they hated each other. Perhaps they came to some sort of agreement. His swearing, anger, and frustration also seemed evident that this was not the first time he had been kidnaped or held against his will.

Sasuke seemed a bit stranger, his breathing was calm, as he struggled to think of how he can help. There were situations where being calm and remaining calm was something that was needed. And while he was frozen, he was not losing his senses.

And Yakumo… she was just frozen, her eyes changed into dark pupils. Her Beast was quietly helping her, in the only way that it could, knowing the situation.

"Oh. I see you enjoyed the ride over. My apologies for that, but it was the only way to keep it a surprise." You stated as you looked at the plates being brought in front. "Ah, excellent timing."

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU!?" Naruto screamed, standing and pulling out a single Kunai, preparing to try and defend himself and escape.

Sasuke then spoke, more courageous now. "Yes, are you Yamato-Sensei?"

That made Naruto pause. "Wait, this guy is our sensei? He's…" He pauses, holstering the knife and thinking. "He's-"

Was at a loss for words at the change of composure. You smiled, your Stoney face and calm demeanor were throwing him off. After all, it seems that he never had been in this kind of situation.

Yakumo, or her beast spoke. "Hm, something tells me that you were trying to be completely random, and to both meet us, and see how we reacted to a chaotic situation?"

You nodded. "Yes. And you all passed it wonderfully."

Everyone was silent. "Now, let's eat." You said as you grabbed some chopsticks.
-------------------------------------

Sasuke was still confused. In fact, you had expected him to be angered, trying to do everything in his power to escape, to stop you from trying to take control.

However, the bizarreness of the situation was so complete, that he could do nothing but just go with the flow.

It was working well for Naruto and Yakumo.

[X] Say nothing, Watch them interact.

> Jump 3 teens in a classroom
> Drag them to a restaurant and pay for a nice meal in a nice room
> Refuse to elaborate

[X] Sorry for making an ass of myself. The comedy gods demanded it. Pork?

Seriously. I specifically pick Yamato because he would be less antagonistic than Kakashi, and you guys pull this. Was this a spite vote for taunt the happy fun ball losing?

[X] So... what do you all want to eat, I assume you all must be hungry and could use some good food.

Keep to the oddity and try to connect with them, our boy might have the social graces of a wood wall, but if the children can trust him at least a little better, then that should be good

Reminder that plates of food are already on the table.

[X]Write in - Plan Rapid-Fire (In order)
-[X]Feel free to eat, no sense letting it go to waste.
-[X]Anyway, my name's Yamato - you may refer to me as Yamato-sensei, because assuming you don't completely screw up, I'm your Jonin and you are my team.
-[X]Yes, I did enjoy kidnapping you and watching what happens when I dump food in front of you. It's funny, and by the time you get to where I am you learn to take your kicks where you can. Remember, confuse - don't abuse.
-[X]Give them a shorthand critique of what they did right and wrong
-[X]That being said, I only knew you were going to be my team for about a day or so. Introduce yourselves so I know what I'm working with.
-[X]After that, let the conversation move into small talk and use basic non-invasive verbal interrogation to feel them out.
-[X]The entire time, eat at a proper and polite ninja speed that doesn't hinder your ability to talk (I'm retconning this as one of Yamato's Sensei Quirks since he never gets much characterization in the manga/anime)

EDIT: I am very much trying to set Yamato up as a non-abusive and funnier version of TFS's Vegeta in "TRAINING BEGINS NOW!" mode. With a garnish of Alastor Moody's "CONSTANT VIGILANCE!"

EDIT 2: left an open-ended finisher to allow QM room to write whatever looks good.

EDIT 3:

Counterpoint: much of the reason why Kakashi was antagonistic as opposed to quirky was because he was apathetic/depressed/whatever. These are children who have no USABLE comprehension what they're getting in to, either because of ignorance (Naruto) or trauma (Sasuke, maybe Ayako).

I posit that mixing a measured amount of sudden interference with consistent displays of compassion and, y'know, actual education (damn it Kakashi) is the best way to help them grow into healthy adults. Especially since it's fairly common knowledge that letting traumatized folk stew in their lingering issues is generally not conducive to measurable recovery.

-[X] Ask them their likes, dislikes, what kind of Ninja they want to be, what skills they are interested in aquiring, what kind of Ninja they want to be, and where they honestly hope for in 10 years from now.

I remember Kakashi did the bell thing a second time in Shuppendo I think? Wonder if we should kidnap them for dinner again sometime.

Needs brackets and Xs after those hyphens.

There is a time for making a point about the seriousness of a ninja career as a prelude to proper preparation/education and bond development. It's not during a bloody introduction.

Regardless of the following, I mostly agree with your point. It's why my write-in is light-hearted and designed to present Yamato as a combination of Jounin-competent, somewhat scatterbrained, and vaguely comedic while allowing our cute Genin a chance to adjust and relax.

Generally, you are correct. Except for one problem;

I have no fucking idea whatsoever how closely the QM is sticking to canon. Which means we're (probably) racing a clock we can't see.

I freely admit this is metagaming and I may be wrong depending on what the QM writes. But considering how ridiculously bad the consequences of said QM following the stations of canon will likely be (if not necessarily for our team), I am not sufficiently confident in our Plot Armor to not partially plan around it.

You have no plot armor her and if you make the wrong choices or do something wrong or fail to pay attention…

Well death is something a ninja walks with daily.

Just because this is a comedy quest and will rely on rule of funny, does not mean things won't be a little violent.

Team 3 will be the last team announced
I thought they went in numerical order. I distinctly remember Squad 10 being announced after Squad 7.

There are some things that must do
"some things that I must do"?

"You're acting like Shiro Iruka
There should be a comma after "Shiro".

because as they all looked like they had been through it
Pretty sure that "as" is redundant.
