The Dragon Ascendant: NO SV: Welcome To Another Viserys Targaryen Quest (A Ck2 Quest)

They are great, but I do wonder why not just reveal the truth of his parents to jon right now? I can't see how leaving him clueless here helps except to make him bait and Ned wouldn't allow that.
Because as of this moment, Ned is the one who is going to tell him, not you.

The Family Planning, with Arianne Targaryen
The Family Planning, with Arianne Targaryen:

You held Daeron close in your arms, as you focused intently on the babbling little boy's smile and happy face. The fact he was pulling on your silver hair, was something that you had long since accepted as payment and penance for the ability to be with your son with such regularity, despite all the things that occurred.

Like the changed diper that you had spent the last few minutes trying to remove, and clean respectively. If there ever was a king that was entirely… willing to change his own child's soiled small clothes, to spend more time with him. There were many wet nurses that would have begged to see the new prince and care for him, only to have their hopes dashed by your very real and very strange need to care for your child.

It was like you were in a fairy tale where the king actually cared for his family, rather than politics. Sure it was a fine line and balance between you, your family, and the politics that forced you to prioritize. Of course, you had focused entirely on politics. But you never neglected your personal and familial obligations.

"You will one day, be able to walk, talk, and otherwise be a brilliant and noble man, capable of everything you can set your mind to. Of course, it will be a long time to get there little Daeron, but I know for certain you will be at that level." You said to him, as the little babe cooed in your arms, as you pulled him closer.

"Talking to the young Prince?" you turned around and Saw Jaime standing by the corner, watching you as a shadow. You had almost missed him as you continued watching, but there was a pause, and you heard him walking towards you. "After all this time, you think a child can match your intellect?"

"I'm not talking to you right now am I?" You said. "And my son is brilliant. You'll see."

"Yes and parade him through the court as he realizes that there is more to life than trying to impress you and then he rebels to place himself onto the throne, to get out of your shadow." Jaime cracked a smile and he stood next to you, and you looked up at him. "May I hold him?"

You were careful and offered your son over to the King'sguard. "I… never told you about how I felt about what happened that day." He stated. "i-"

"You don't have to explain I forgive you for what happened." You said. "Where did you learn to hold a child like that?" You asked as Jaime rocked Daeron with a grace that only a man who raised children for much of his life did.

"Tyrion was very young. And small. I learned to hold him. Then Cersei had Joffery, and he loved benign held by me. More than her and Robert. It's different to hold a child that isn't family. There are many things that you realize. How small they are, how protective we all are of them, how much we would give to protect them."

There was a sigh before he looked away from your son, and he took a moment to take a deep breath. "But only parents truly understand that."

You nodded, and Daeron was softly and safely put back into his crib. "Indeed…My father was fairly overprotective of me when I was younger, back before the worse of his paranoia drove him away, he was eccentric for sure but still normal."

That made Jaime nod as if he took a moment to remember. "You don't understand. That wasn't your father. That was Rhaegar."

At those words, tears began to well up. "For the longest time, I had hoped that there was some memory of Aerys that could be seen as a brilliant way… to show me that he was not mad, insane, or obsessed with fire. Maybe I look at my memories not as what happened, but as what I believed had happened. Only to be reminded that they are faulty. That in the end, it was the mind lying about what it really wanted.

"Jaime. I want to ask you something… Do you think I will be a good father?" It was a question that seemed to catch the Knight off guard, but in a moment of weakness… he seemed lost for words.

"Take it from a man who should have been a better one… as long as you care, and do as best you can… you will always be a better father than those that are not." He stated.

Oh…how human…It was comforting to be so honest with you. "So…anything today?"

"It's your wife she has plans she needs to discuss with you." He said. "I don't know anything else, other than one of the Sand Snakes snuck up on me with that message, and she wants to see you soon. Without Daeron."

Plans? You knew that she wanted to be hands-on, maybe it was to take advantage of the Sarnor Run, the trade route with the Vale to Sarnor and Ib. But she also agreed that after you spoke to Tyrion, she wished to take a few days off from politics, to have some alone time and prepare for Doran to arrive. Now that was always a good thing and a day or two off was always good to keep your sanity.

But seeing you soon? Dinner was not for another few hours?

And without Daeron?

That made you feel suspicious. She never wished to be without Daeron, when it was her turn to care for him, especially with you.

Ohh, now you remembered, it was Oberyn's turn to care for your son. And the Sand Snakes hated it when that happened. Because Uncle Oberyn loved spoiling the young prince.

"Jaime, could you carry Daeron to Oberyn, and tell him, in no uncertain terms, that he is responsible for the Crown Prince for the next few hours, possibly until the morning." You smiled as Jaime felt a very strong desire to facepalm, but doing so would be unprofessional… and could endanger the Prince.

That made Jaime swear. "You Bastard."

"Last I checked I was a legitimate child unless you think otherwise?" You smiled.

"As you command Your Grace." He groaned as he took your son and walked towards Prince Oberyn's tower.

Finally, you could get some alone time with your wife.
--------------------------------------------------

You were walking towards your chambers… when you heard moaning. And not the kind that reminded you of well, the times you would hope to remember for a long time.

It reminded you of the time you were in Volantis, where the two slave girls enjoyed each other's company.

You checked the door and saw no guard waiting, and you knew immediately that someone was with Arianne, someone she trusted with her life.

So that meant one of the Sand Snakes. And that meant that Oberyn knew about this as well.

The door was unlocked and you realized that she was not being careful, something you would need to chastise her about when you got the chance to see her in a moment.

You then looked inside and immediately, your face became bright with crimson and confusion. You saw Teyne Sand, one of the elder Sand Snakes in terms of age, a blond beauty that reminded many who used to work in the Castle of Mrycella and Arianne, naked as the day they were born.

And Teyne was working hard, engaging herself with Arianne's… Oh for the love of the Gods.

Arianne moaned. "Oh, right there, right there-"

That's it, you were not being emasculated by another woman pleasuring your wife better than you could. You were not going to stand that.

"I did not bring a cool drink at regular intervals…for you apparently have yet to realize I am not a servant." You stated, causing both women to look, first at you, and then at each other, as both went to cover themselves or hide from your gaze. Your rather annoyed, flustered, and confused gaze.

"Viserys!" Arianne covered herself with the sheets. "I thought you were with Daeron!"

You closed the door behind you and pinched your nose. "I was until I remember that it was Prince Oberyn's day with his great nephew and he had sent a message that you wished to see me. And I decided to take the rest of the day off to be with my lady wife."

"Oh for fucks sake father, you must have-" Teyne started before you cut her off.

"That will be all Teyne." You stated. "You can remain, but I ask that you do not interrupt for a minute until your cousin and I sort out… this…" You paused as you looked at Arianne, who was now as flustered as you were when you first arrived in the room. "I best hope that there is a good reason for this…Incest may be a tradition but not something we should indulge in without good reason. We're on thin ice as it is."

Teyne tried to speak. "Well your grace-"

"Teyne, I trust you with my life, that of my child, and my wife. But I did ask that you not interrupt." You stated. "Please."

The Daughter of Oberyn Martell did nod. And you looked back to Arianne. "Arianne?"

"She's here to help." She replied, bluntly and without hesitation.

You frowned, both confused and bewildered at her statement. "How is she going to help? We promised that our family planning sessions would be a private affair, something that we both can undertake. Maester Bill did say that it was safe enough for us to try and have more children, but he also said that waiting can sometimes be beneficial."

Arianne stood her ground. "I want her to join us in the bed chamber." That made you pause.

"What? Arianne, that-" You were at a loss for words. "What does that even mean!?" Your face was filled with confusion, and your mouth was agape and open.

"I want you to take her as your mistress, and legitimize her children when they are born as part of the family." She replied, without a second's hesitation.

The name Blackfyre screamed in your head. "How is this safe and sane family planning! Are you trying to start a civil war when I die!"

"Do you want your family to die out if there is a plague, assassins, or worse because of the magic that has been unleashed? Besides, if we follow the plan, they will think they are mine and we only have to do with the usual family drama."

Then you saw the papers and parchments. Dozens and dozens of papers that detailed everything about how to plan for children, and make them think they were legitimate, from hiding to body doubles, to even making sure that the correct guards and people saw who.

Every detail about how to pass children off as your own… how to get people to believe that the children were legitimate, or even twins. Every detail was nauseating in its complexity… and when you finished it…

You are starting to fear your wife for the completeness of her Dornish family planning. Who the hell gave her this idea! Oberyn!

"It was my Father's idea…he considered it important for the long-term interests of our family." Teyne said as she found something to cover her breasts. "He thinks that the family, our family that is, is too small. You have your sister, your nephew, and Daeron. Not a secure line of succession if there is chaos."

While she spoke the truth, you also narrowed your eyes. "We are not in Dorne, the rest of Westeros would never agree to this… also, does the name Aegon the Unworthy ring a bell? I am not a whoremongerer, wishing to sleep and drown myself in lust, pleasure, and adultery. I can't just… let myself be unfaithful like that."

"Viserys…this is not whoremongering this is a family plan, its agreement, and trust for the long-term benefit of not only the realm but our health," Arianne said. "Aegon the First had a similar level of trust and commitment to his own sisters."

"They were married." You replied bluntly as if water was wet or the city smelled of shit. "If word gets out, it will not only cause a scandal but also stain Teynes children with Bastardry. And the rest of Westeros, especially the Faith would never agree to a mistress, especially if her children were ahead of Arianne's in the line of succession, gods forbid, if any of them die!"

"You are overreacting…and thinking of hypotheticals that you cannot control…stop." She said, as she stood up and walked over to you, not caring that she was not without anything covering herself. She knew you knew what she looked like. And she swayed her hips seductively as she did. "Just lay down for a moment. Lay down and allow yourself to feel better. Let me help you feel better."

You resigned yourself and felt a sigh leave you. "I'm scared Arianne. I'm scared that what you want to do will backfire horribly, and only make things worse."

"You told me a long time ago that love and trust were just a leap of faith. So I'm asking you to do that. Can you take that leap of faith with me?" She asked as she kissed your neck.

Finally, you relented and allowed yourself to feel free. "Okay." You whispered as you kissed her on her lips. They tasted of Dornish plumbs and blueberries, you're favorite.

You did not stop your sexual escapades until the next morning. Trying everything you could think of… and more.
-----------------------------------------------------

Reward: You have agreed to Arianne's Family Plan, which asks that Teyne Sand, her cousin, and confidant, join you in the bed chamber, and help expand the family, and expand it rapidly. While also understanding that the possibility of such a plan would possibly raise some suspicions.

Arianne and Teyne will now have pregnancy rolls beginning next turn.

The rumors of more Dornishmen and women at court have caused some grumbling, and many think that you are playing favorites with your allies and family being of high esteem and of course… Dornish.

The Reachmen of the court will have words with you, if they can, saying you were indeed playing favorites.

The Faith will decry your decision, should you get caught.

Do try to be responsible and follow the plan. That being, be fruitful and multiply.

AN: I wrote a sex scene... but I decided to fade to black because I'm a coward who thinks it might have been cringy.

Enjoy.

Well this is a turn of events. I sure hope no one learns of this, but I'm guessing your rolling for if they are discovered.

We also need to avert Daeron II problem of favoring the dornish too much, as it angers the other lords.

To be fair, the Situation is not QUITE as bad as it was back then. What really rankled People back then wasn't just that he favored the Dornish, but that he favored them so much after they had just gotten into the Seven Kingdoms peacefully, even after a History of Warfare and the fact that they had murdered a previous King and a lot of other People under a flag of truce, Red Wedding Style.

These wounds are mostly soothed over by now, if only due to the time passing. Favoring the Dornish will make People mad, of course, but not any more mad then favoring any other Kingdom that isn't their own.

True it's not exactly the same, but the 7 kingdoms have never really been united. So they all try to screw each other over except the north who keep to themselves. Plus the Houses of westeros have long memories and long grudges that they cling to. They will see a commonality and assume the worst.

Well this is a turn of events. I sure hope no one learns of this, but I'm guessing your rolling for if they are discovered.
it will be off page.

The reason is, that I want it to be off-page, and have people investigate.

Plus we all know our security apparatus of Prince Oberyn and his internal security and Spy network, not to mention our own, that people will have a hard time figuring it out, without someone directly involved... spilling the beans.

But considering that everyone in the know think this is entierly normal (because they are Dornish, Targaryen, and hot) and just accept it.
To be fair, the Situation is not QUITE as bad as it was back then. But Daeron's attempts to placate and honor the Dornish also paid off dividends in the future, with Dorne being our greatest ally in the Seven Kingdoms, right in front of the North.

Sure it cost him in the short term, but Dorne is now a very effective and part of the Seven Kingdoms. Well our Seven Kingdoms.
These wounds are mostly soothed over by now, if only due to the time passing. Favoring the Dornish will make People mad, of course, but not any more mad then favoring any other Kingdom that isn't their own.
Well, the thing is, we're not exactly favoring all of Dorne, just the Martells.

And that is something that most people will accept, considering the very real power they have, and the politics involved.

Plus, considering we made some of our enemies, part of our council, they are very sure we are not like Bobby Butcher.
True it's not exactly the same, but the 7 kingdoms have never really been united. So they all try to screw each other over except the north who keep to themselves. Plus the Houses of westeros have long memories and long grudges that they cling to. They will see a commonality and assume the worst.
Well they are more united now then they were 3 years ago... because they were in civil war.

As for long memories, and grudges... quite a few of them have smoothed over in the last few years.

By simple virtue that many of the houses involved are now extinct.

Sure it cost him in the short term, but Dorne is now a very effective and part of the Seven Kingdoms. Well our Seven Kingdoms.
I would argue that 5 generations of rebellion was not worth a giant sandbox, even if it was to "finish what the Conqueror couldn't" and bring dorne into the fold. Especially since Daeron II gave them a ridiculous amount of favor that it was more of loss than a gain at all.

Of course Daeron couldn't know what would happen but he was very ignorant to how his preference of Dorne was seen by the rest if the realm. He was, in my eyes, an objectively bad king, it's just that Aegon IV set the bar so low that Daeron was a saint compared to him.

Assembling the Amazons
Assembling the Amazons:

Jaime was at a loss for words, Ser Barristian was about to break the table, his hands were digging into the Northern Mahagony as he heard what you had said. And Ser Asher was laughing like he had heard the greatest joke of them all.

The rest of the Kingsguard were silent, trying their best to resemble

Everyone would have been laughing if it were not for the stone-cold seriousness that your face held. And so much so, that it frightened them all.

Asher finally spoke, when he finally stopped, realizing just how serious this entire statement was. "Wait, you're serious?"

You nodded. "Yes."

"Women as bodyguards?" Ser BArristian was fuming but remaining respectful with who he was speaking to. "It is a very, sudden change and requests to make. Martial prowess is not what the Faith calls for, and that many more ladies do not desire to learn how to fight, fleeting as they may have when they are younger."

You looked at him. "And?"

"Fuck, he really wants an answer," Arys stated, before hiding herself out of your view.

"Gods damn it all there better be a good reason for this sudden change." Barristian was angered, quite thoroughly.

Ahh..the explanation it had to be practical, sensible and above all fitting for these men. Because these men gave oaths to protect you with their lives. And you would not allow them to be worried.

"It's a measure not to take away your job, but to keep my wife safe. I mean no offense, but you can't be everywhere at once. And that… this job is far less a bodyguard position, and more a way to-" You paused thinking of the words to speak. "Cover your blind spots."

"Blind spots?" Barristian asked.

"Let me ask you a question, to demonstrate: Do you ever listen to gossip? Go to the kitchens and speak to the men and women of our staff, and find out what they know?" You asked.

There was silence. "Or better yet, do you know how to make sure makeup isn't poisoned? How to properly search a woman for weapons, how to handle and administer poisons to protect Arianne, Daeron, or myself?"

At those words, everyone in the room seemed to understand what you meant. "It is easier to kill a man than it is to find out which man is guilty. And women always seem to pick that up better when they know what they are looking for." You smiled.

"Any more… interruptions and protests?" You stated.

"You have put quite a lot of thought into this, your Grace?" Barristian stated.

"I have, so you better agree to it, or someone is losing his cloak!" You demanded.

"It's a breach of tradition and protocol," Jaime stated. "So it's entirely like you."

"Glad to see we are in agreement. Now, please, shut up, and listen to who will be assisting you in your... endeavors to keep me, and my family safe."

Who do you choose:
(Can choose up to 5)

[]Obara Sand: A Maid of 27, and a skilled poisoner, spearwoman, and whip wielder, one of the more talented warrior women in Westeros that are still alive. She is a master of the more subtle intrigues known throughout the Dornish way of life and in the confidence of your Wife. She also enjoys teasing the chaste and professional Arys Oakheart.

[]Nymaria Sand: A Maid of 24, she is also a child of the Red Viper. However, unlike her elder sister, she is a courtly and intriguing lady. She is more at home in court (and within the bed of maids) than she ever is on a battlefield. There is a small problem, however. Her lustful tendencies and open homosexuality would cause great scandal among the lords and ladies of Westeros… and may cause a great deal of scrutiny on your household.

[]Mya Stone: A Maid of 18, and the only (known) Bastard daughter of Robert Baratheon, she has fled the vale and her job as a guide of the gates from Lord Arryn to work at your court, or whoever may take her in. While her father may be guilty of a great many things, she is not, and when she offered to help keep your wife safe, you had to choose. The thing is, she is unlike her father, calm, beautiful, and worldly.

[]Brienne of Tarth: A Maid of 18, and now, it seems a magical… girl? By the Gods that sounded terrible. But anyway, the staggeringly tall ugly woman was a powerful warrior that could seemingly tap into the magic of her home, to protect others. Though she has a problem… a Very large one. Her father wishes to marry her off, and she does not want to. And it could lead to political problems if she were to act as a bodyguard even for you.

[]Margery Tyrell: A Maid of 14. The Youngest on the list and someone who frankly frightened you. She displays herself as a delicate flower, but you knew she was the smoothest political operator that this next generation may have. There is also a very real possibility that the Tyrells might use her for their own situation… but you couldn't know. But having her as a hostage… may be very very useful. But is it worth the risk?

[]Dacey Mormont: A Maid of 25, and the first daughter of the She-Bear Maege Mormont and is as big and strong as a small northern bear. A Mormont guard would be a boon for the North's influence.

[]Asha Greyjoy: The Lady of Greyjoy… at least in theory, and a maid of 20. She has finally able to leave Sunspear after so long, and the first thing she wanted to do was sail a ship under your command… or that of Lord Stannis. But anywho, she is a skilled fighter, skilled sailor, and brilliant mind that you would love to match wits with. Though she is a bit strange. She claimed a great ax is her husband and a dagger was her child.

[]Meera Reed: A Maid of 15, and another northerner. She is a Crannogman, a skilled huntress and some say she is a seer… or that might be her brother, you didn't know. But she does have a keen intellect and other talents that are not entirely known.

[]Meris: A Sellsword from the East, a westerosi native that sought fortune and glory. She only found violence and trouble. A Mutilated woman with only one breast due to a battle against Dorthraki, she has since returned home, looking for fame and fortune. And working for a King brings fame and fortune.

AN: Enjoy and vote in plan format please.

Interesting. So, we would do well to chose as Queensguard not just fighters, but also People with experience in poisons, schemes, etc.

So, I tentatively say we recruit Obara, Margery and either Asha or Brienne.

Tough call, but I'm thinking Obara, Margery and either Dacey or Asha. Obara can spot poisons and subterfuge, Margery handles politics, and strong fighter. Though possible green sight and world experience of meera and mya are tempting.

Need to think more on this.

Because The Kingsguard might revolt if we did that to them.

(Real answer though, I just didn't have enough people to fill out for a roster)

Plus interludes are hard.
Come on. let us have a few more!!!

We have broken literally every tradition that could be broken, and you have prepared a rooster big enough to justify up to 5-7 members

You are going to love to have such a concentration of awesome in King´s Landing, and the opportunities for social interaction will be great...
I just have Littlefinger to write next and we can get back to the turns.

As you can probably guess, Little fingers survival and continue presences in the story, while important for the plot in the East and serve as a thorn in our side...

Well lets just say that after multiple months of planning and rewriting, I find myself wishing that he wasn't Sealord.

actually, I'm doing a small retcon... but that is for the update to answer.

Ok guys, I don´t really think that we need Tyrells either in the King´s Guard or the Queen´s Guard, we already have them in the Royal Council and that is enough...

Much like her brother Margery definitely has the skills required for the job, but I don´t think that she is trustworthy enough to put her in that position (besides that she is ambitious and intelligent, which makes her even more dangerous) so I´m giving her coutirer position to Nymaria...

[X]Plan: Only Trustworthy Girls for the Queen´s Guard, thank you!!

Alright, you know what, Rumor mill time...

Just so I can get it out of the way, before the update.

Also, please note:

There may be some unreliable narration on that.
