This is everything I can think of to get cash.

Owlbear because it's easy and gives Gold and reagents as well as eggs.

Safe cracking so we can get into the safe and find something hopefully valuable. I'd like to send Minions off to get the stuff for plants but that won't help us get money this turn.

Still need 4 more Advisors.

Gnarl on blackmail again since it's the easiest Intrigue option that gives Gold.

Learning about bounty from the earth since we just hit the motherlode.

And looking for magical materials hoping we find something valuable.

I believe our Minions are already maxed out so talking to our Diplomacy advisor instead.

I'm nervous about this turn. No idea if this will get us enough money. But it's about all I can think of.

I don't think we can just keep doing the recruiting action. We aren't making enough money at this point to recruit a full set of advisers. Each one costs 100 gold a turn in upkeep, we can't afford a full set at this point. We might be able to afford one or two more but the money could get seriously tight. Like right now we need 800 gold before the end of the turn. If we hire another adviser we'll need 900 instead.

We have to focus on dealing with the Baron quest line so we can unlock our second action and free up the money to hire a full set of advisers.

when we have the actions free, would be good to build a secret base in the netherworld cavern. since anything built aboveground while the baron is still a threat are just things to be stolen and excuses to raise our tax obligations. wwe want to appear destitute even once we are not. build up resources to take out the baron.

but yeah monee

[X] Plan We Need Monies Sellout Edition

I am wondering what might have caused the Barons and his wife's hate boner for Edmund. Though knowing Overlord he is most likely going to rant it out in a lengthy tirade when we are in the process of killing the shit out of him and his forces.

Now if only the local Baron didn't want to grind you to a fine paste under his wagon's wheels just because your grandfather had fu- er, that is, had a very vigorous relationship with his grandmother. The phrase "cross-eyed" had been thrown in there when your father had been relaying the tale; before your mother had dope-slapped him.
Your grandfather was quite the rake.

It kills me not to have the advisors unlocked...

But... you're right. We need money more than the actions and buffs they would provide at the moment.

Here's a updated plan switching getting advisors to trying to be able to sell things whenever.

[X] Plan We Need Monies Sellout Edition

This plan puts my fear of the debt collectors at ease. Can't wait to dispose of the baron so we can work on more helpful things.

[X] Plan We Need Monies Sellout Edition

Yes, we really do need to start gnawing away at the bindings the Baron has wrapped about us before we can get really going.

So what happens if we just get terrible rolls and we can't pay the tax?

If we fail to pay the tax the Baron is probably going to seize our family castle. So setting up an outpost in the Netherworld as a fallback position (and to make future actions like 'Ten Foot Pole' easier) should be prudent.

It might even be worth it to put off the the Netherworld exploration for after we get the outpost set up. Maybe we could take the 'Your Inner Eye?' action to try and expand our pool of minions instead? Minions don't cost upkeep.

I mean, it's an Occult action. None of the options under Occult seem to offer any Gold. I was mainly offering it as an alternative for 'Ten Foot Pole' since it might be better to put that action off until after we complete 'Home Away From Home' which would lower its DC.
I'll make a plan for it I suppose. Approval voting is OK right?
