Towards the Golden Throne (Warhammer 40k Xianxia)

[X] What is their plan?

This seems like a gimme: we are swearing to the Inquisitor that they will not be allowed to succeed, so we need to know what we are stopping them from succeeding at.

[X] Who is the Heron Masked Man?

Curiosity.

Saving vote #3, not sure yet.

[X] Who is the Jackal?
[X] Who is the Heron Masked Man?
[X] What is their plan?

These questions are the core beats of a revenge plot. A list of names, who things can expand from, and their plan for her to thwart.

Y'know, like Kill Bill, but more gothic-xianxia.

[X] Who is the Jackal?
[X] Who is the Heron Masked Man?
[X] What is their plan?

No wonder Jackal was so angry- even successfully rendering an Inquisitor-Adept into their component atoms and energies and swiping the slate clean on that front, whatever mysterious cabals and orders they belonged to would have marked their fall and set out on their own hunts for the killers.

[X] What is their plan?
[X] Who has been holding us captive?

[X] What is the layout of this facility/where are the exits?

Also this quest kicks ass so far

Do inquisitors in this au have retinues? Wondering if we should ask after potential allies who could prove helpful

Can we use an art to preserve the mindstate of the inquisitor so we get more information? Or simply an information-extraction art with a consenting target, etc.

If you had one of those, this would be an excellent time for it, but alas you do not. Would be an excellent motivation to go looking for one in the future, though.

It is possible to unlock new Arts "retroactively" with, say, short stories or fanworks featuring Miraxa learning them, provided they were thematically suitable for the Omnissiah Igvita Sect, but even then it would wait until after the vote was called to take effect. Way too much of a headache otherwise.

Is the first realm regular mortals, or if not what's it called under the Mechanicus conception?

There's a threadmark for how the Mechanicus refer to the Realms, which can be found under the information tab. Generally they don't regard the "Mortal Realm" as being a realm at all. It's the metaphorical '0' on the scale. Miraxa has gone through the Lexical and Runic realms and now stands in the Material.

[X] What is their plan?
[X] Who is the Jackal?
[X] Who is the Heron Masked Man?

Details like our location, more details about the slavers, etc., or why we were brought here, should be relatively straightfoward to fill in for ourselves. (And the latter can probably be inferred from their plan, once we know it.) Only tweak here is to put the plan bit above the Jackal, as I think that's the highest priority, and true to the ways of the Mechanicus, Miraxa is cold and methodical enough in her vengeance that she would place frustrating her enemy's schemes above personal knowledge.

You don't know any of them, for all that you have taken their lives into your care; not their names, their occupations, their personalities. Perhaps you could ask… but no. It has been over an hour. It would be far too awkward now.

D'aaaawww

What few braver or more foolish souls remained are swiftly scattered in the wake of your victory, and then it is over.

Did we managed to take one alive? Or could we track down one of the survivors without it taking an impractical amount of time? Would be useful to interrogate them for details about their group and where we are.

Yeah this works.

Given the Jackal's sudden killing of his second minion, solid chance he's a realm above them, which would put him on par realmwise with Mira.

Nobody was taken alive, and the ones who scattered are generally... well, tracking them down in cramped subterranean environs without the benefit of surprise would be both time-consuming and risky.

Also Miraxa is exactly the right kind of arrogant to assume that the rank and file mortals know nothing worth asking them about.
