I'm a fan of both the Sannin and the third Hogake, so playing as a teammate of Jiraya and Orochimaru with him as a teacher really appeals to me. I know that it's not guaranteed that we'll get the canon teams ( or chose Tsunade over Nawaki in the first place ), but for me it's the best chance to read more about these characters that I have fond memories of.
And if canon isn't really fleshed out in this time period, the author should have a lot of room for his own stories and plots ,if there wasn't a plan for something to do and happen these options probably wouldn't be here.

There aren't really enough characters and plot surrounding that particular era for an engaging game, not when compared to Kakashi's or Naruto's generations.
The QM could come up with OCs and other plots and such but I don't think that it will be as interesting.
There will be no oc, its already been decided by the writer... There are no good picks for the Senju character... At least nun in Naruto era

If Senju wins I'd much rather play as Nawaki. He's basically a blank slate and is in an interesting era being the same age as Minato.
Weird, I thought he would be older, being a sibling to Tsunade who is roughly (?) the same age as Minato's teacher. Is there just a giant age difference between those two siblings?

The Sannin, who are the same age, are 24 during the Second Shinobi War. Nawaki died at the age of 12 during the Second Shinobi War.
