Having peacetime business is pretty nice, but more hands lets us try absurd amounts of changes on a mech.

Well no, Esoteric is specifically the spooky shit that goes bump in the night. You're still in the age where that hasn't died out, and frankly speaking a little research into that isn't too out of the ordinary. Who knows, they might even have something going for them.

Eh, fuck it. I remember reading that Esoteric scales up hard the more you invest into it, so I'll just commit to that. +Civilian Mecha is the one that probably should win though, I'm just chasing shinies.

Honestly, I think that as people on vacation, this is the IC choice. Why would we actually go out of our way to put company work on our plate when we're supposed to be kicking back?

Because this is a French vacation- IE, "factory's closed, we're not paying you if you show up, go do something else". If there's a way to earn some money and bill the company for it- and then procede to take some long weekends after the fact in the slow bits of the year- then it looks very reasonable.
