Gods of Chaos: a Riot God Quest

Authored:
[x]create the celestial emperor. The celestial emperor is meant to act as an intermediate between the real and the unreal. The celestial emperor's crown will sent down to the world below so that a worthy soul may find it and guide their people to a new dawn.(grand act)
Not Authored:
[X] Create the Mantle of the Breaker (Cosmic Act)

[X] Sky Sea: High in the clouds where only the most determined bird may reach there now exists a wandering sea that defies convention, where gold sparkles upon the waves as common as salt. Within it are half submerged floating islands of gold, pumice, and volcanic ash. It wanders the sky, occasionally lapping upon the shores of sky islands. (Grand Act)
[X]Create Stromhiem, a rather odd landmass that both lives up to its name and is completely different from it. Across this land stretches miles upon miles of rich, plant and animal filled rivers criss crossing the breadth and width of the continent. Yet when no more than a mile or two out from where these canals are is nothing but dry, sandy desert. The sand of these deserts seem to be as deep as an ocean as one can simply keep digging and quite likely never see the bottom of them. Though one advantage to this region is the mineral rich nature of the sand, it seemingly being made of numerous different metal particles along with the normal stone that forms sand. This land is a true contradiction, holding some of the most fertile areas on the planet while also playing host to one of the most desolate regions imaginable. It will surely provide a great challenge and reward to whichever species comes to live here.(Grand Act)

[X] Remember Pebble-chan? Turn her and a hundred another random Hollow pebbles into human-sized statues resembling various races. Internal structure remains the same (Lesser act)
[X] Empower a Myridnan Iktai hunter, giving it unnatural strength. Empower a Myridnan sailor with perception. And Empower a Myridnan herder with limited foresight. (Lesser Act)
[X] Create the Fields of Floating Stones on the eastern coast of the Clouded Lands, a series of cliffs where large rocks ligther than air grow from the soil and can telekinetically be controled with lunar magic. (Lesser Act)
[X] Create the Gate of Trials (Lesser Act)
[X] Void Traversal Services (Lesser Act)
[X] Create the monument makers (Lesser Act)
[X] Landmark: The Unreal Lake (Lesser Act)

Authored Act:
[X] Create the Void Scythe and bestow it upon the one who wanted to go to the void, An artifact that allows whoever wields it to draw power from the void to empower themselves and the Scythe, The Void Scythe's Main Functionality is the ability to, with a cut and the will, to open a tear that leads straight to the void and back, of course the scythe also allows the wielder to survive within the void, the Wielder can even pass this protection on to others if they so wish. If the wielder where to ever die and they where in the void at the time, the Scythe would find it's way back to the world, waiting for the next time someone else longed for the void. (Lesser-Act)

Non-Authored Acts:

[X] Create the Second Planet (Cosmic Act)
[X] The Law of Artistry
[X] Birth of the Storm God Saar from waters of the Ocean Spirit.
[x] Create The Hour-Stones (Lesser)

I think this is what ill vote for, also I like how we have two acts here that deal with the void thing lol

Sounds like a grand act to be honest.

It's... an extremely vague Act. I don't suppose you'd like to elaborate on what the Emperor does and what kind of power it is supposed to have?

@Photomajig
Would granting sentience to a bloodline of an animal species be a lesser act?

A small population would be fine as a Lesser Act. What are you thinking of?

Adhoc vote count started by Cybresamurai on Dec 27, 2021 at 10:40 AM, finished with 74 posts and 18 votes.

Since the votes where a bit all over the place I combined the same votes for a more accurate tally.

I'm actually hoping that all of the cosmic acts pass even if I can only vote for one lol

Should we add another entirely new landmass? The world's getting pretty crowded and if this keeps up we'll have no room for the ocean.

Lesseee, I'll go with this. The Hot Land Myrdina have gotten too much attention, time to remember the other folks.

Authored:
[X] Inspire a few of the inhabitants of the Clouded Lands with ingenuity and skill. (Lesser Act)
-To a clever Skrayt is granted the knowledge and creative skill needed to create devices needed to reach the higher Skylands and settle them; hot air balloons and gliders are now within their reach, should the materials be found.
-To a deep-dwelling Umbral, knowledge is given of how to use a minor act of Shaping and selective feeding to produce a breathing filter from slimes so that the Umbrals can delve deeper into the caves, where the air is poisonous. Who knows what treasures might be found down there.
-To a scattered human clinging to life in the Clouded Lands is given the knowledge of the difficult process needed to tame Wyverns, should they manage to acquire their eggs; with such creatures as mounts, humans would be able to survive in the harsh terrain of the Clouded Lands.
-And to a baolian is granted knowledge of the ship-building skills of their Hotland cousins, adapted for the local materials

Actually enacting any of these plans is up to the individuals themselves, and any they share their knowledge with. May they prove clever, strong, and worthy enough to do it!

I'll edit in supported acts as I rummage around and find ones I like.

Do keep in mind you can always just... put extra space on the planet. Planet-enlarging machine goes brrrrr.
that would Definitely be a cosmic act, we'll probably have to wait until next time to go for it if we want to since we already have our votes divided between three different cosmic acts right now and none of them have enough votes currently.

Actually, just enlarging the planet we have already would probably be a Grand Act, rather than Cosmic. Most of the work has already been done, meaning it would be more on par with creating a new continent. Whole new planet is certainly Cosmic though.

Edit; remember those unintended consequences though. We'd be making the world's gravity slightly higher...

Authored:
[X] Birth of the Storm God Saar from waters of the Ocean Spirit.
Over the great Ocean's waters a calamitous storm cloud forms. It grows larger and stronger over the course of 7 years, staining the skies in permanent shade of grey. At last the storm breaks in a massive hurricane that rages for 7 days as the great God of storms is born the first divine child of the ocean spirit. The gods first years are ruinous as he gains mastery over his domain. He eventually settles over the isolated island finding great companionship in Lonesome Tree and the Dryad but can be found the sky islands as well.
(Grand Act)
Not sure what class act this would be @Photomajig

Supported:
[X] The Great Revelation (Demi-Act)
[X] Create the Gate of Trials (Lesser Act)
[X] Create the World-Fable Stone
[X] Sky Sea: High in the clouds where only the most determined bird may reach there now exists a wandering sea that defies convention, where gold sparkles upon the waves as common as salt. Within it are half submerged floating islands of gold, pumice, and volcanic ash. It wanders the sky, occasionally lapping upon the shores of sky islands. (Grand Act)

[X] Create the Fields of Floating Stones on the eastern coast of the Clouded Lands, a series of cliffs where large rocks ligther than air grow from the soil and can telekinetically be controled with lunar magic. (Lesser Act)

[X] Create the Fields of Floating Stones on the eastern coast of the Clouded Lands, a series of cliffs where large rocks ligther than air grow from the soil and can telekinetically be controled with lunar magic. (Lesser Act)

[X] The Moon of the Fleshless : Take the remains of the outer god, Ithzunchult the Fleshless, and transform them into an ornate orb of brass and obsidian that will be set above the world in orbit like the existing moon does, but in a different, erratic, and hard to calculate orbit instead of the same orbit as the existing moon. Within the orb shall be kindled the remains of the spirit and mind of Ithzunchult into a new incarnation, that of a great spirit bound to the Moon of the Fleshless. As this spirit is a new incarnation it is not bound to foul hungers and ends as Ithzunchult once was, but the shadow of its former incarnation does shape it like the river bed shapes a river.

Just as the normal moon radiates the power of the spirits, the Moon of the Fleshless will radiate the power that once was Ithzunchult's, and also just like the already existing moon mortals can learn to tap into and shape that power for their own mystic acts. They should beware, however, for to channel the power of the Moon of the Fleshless is to open one's mind, body, and soul to the influence of the spirit of the moon, and distance is not a shield that can forever protect the users.

As well, the moon is invisible when the light of the sun and the moon can directly touch it, so can normally only be seen on moonless nights. (Grand Act).
[X] Teach the suras of the six path and create the tatoo of the exarch.(demi act)

I had an idea about that. The planet is supposed to be the center of the universe but it still orbits the sun. So enlarge the planet until the sun orbits the world. Seed the entire thing with the gravity manipulating metal found in the skylands to retain its normal surface gravity

Okay, two things. One, there are three Cosmic acts fighting for votes, but none currently have the necessary requirement to pass because many people didn't want to vote on a Cosmic act. Now Mantle has 6, Forger and World Forge has 6, Second Planet has 5 (according to the counting I did thanks to the current tally and all the additional votes). Now, I believe that all three can still pass the necessary requirement to reach the Epoch. Those who want to help these acts, it will be happily accepted.

I just want for at least one Cosmic Act to pass. Then we can focus our Cosmic votes count to increase the size of our world, because there will be a need for that with all of those pretty and large continents. :p

On another note, we have already an immense amount of acts already passing, which is amazing, because of how it will affect the world in intriguing and epic ways. I mean come one! We're gonna have a scythe that shall let and algae pass into the Void! How cool is that?!

And upon the Northern World-Pillar's apex, the stones instead have written upon them such legends as might be in the future, noting the names and origins of those upon whom the Law of Narrative Satisfaction weighs, yet none can ever predict when a prospective legend vanishes from the surface of the stones, the fable either made manifest or impossible. You're brilliant!

Now I definitely need to comb over the recent authored posts for some more goodies to add to the list, I absolutely want (besides housekitties obvs) big cats (possibly even sabertooths?) roaming around becoming empowered etc etc

Simply creating a normal cat will upset so many people- how could we not?

E: Actually, if someone really is dying for support- I'll auto-add your vote to whatever my end list ends up being as long as you can organize the authored votes into something neater than the tally? Seeing it all at once, cleaned up 'n such, will help my decisionmaking process. So since I'm asking for effort from another, I can easily edit in another cosmic-or-below act next to the Second Planet act.

And I can support your entire next vote (blindly, yes, but with whatever additions I still enjoy) so it doesn't seem like a disproportionate ask.

@Photomajig since we're Chaos Gods, bartering acts isn't against the rules yes? Mostly I don't like the autotally staring at me and it gives incentive for others in the future to be creative if it works.

[x] Create The Hour-Stones (Lesser)
Strange structures that rise from the ground, these black pillars grow in plaes of great change, ruin, or in places where Time can fracture acting as a bandage for any such wounds. Standing as gravestones and markers for things that once were, those who near these strange and ominous landmarks find that time seems to stutter and skip around them. Illusions of Past and Future are revealed with a certain radius of these pillars, buildings, people, and even wars appearing and vanishing within moments. Seperated by a veil of time, those in the Present can only observe and watch what was and what could be- the endless possibilities always different from one another. For those who hold stong enough will, the Hour-Stones will allow prophecy of a possible future- but each request will leave the stones more resillient to further influences. Be weary traveler, for those who stay too close to these strange stones can find themselves lost in the wonders of what was and what would be, forgetting that they need to act in the Now to create such effects.

When damaged, these stones will fix themselves, fragments fading from time and replacing injured parts of the Hour-Stones.

I think this would lean into a Lesser action right? If they would be Demi, then I wouldn't mind overpowering them and making them more interesting by upping them to Lesser level.

On that note: The way the Stones work is that they create a sphere around them, each Stone within that sphere will increase it's size slighlty with a soft-limit at about 5 stones (to prevent them from covering the world with their radius due to sillyness). In that radius, the effects occur. Kinda inspired by the idea of "Looking at your most perfect self" seen in some fictions, where the people in question would become lost looking at the sheer perfection/inspired creation before them, these stones apply the same effect. Incredibly useful to learn things that might happen, but also dangerous for psychological reasons. Not to mention the prophecy parts which require a stronger will each time the stone is used for that. Eventually this leads to only those with Godly willpower being able to get prophecies, and then even they can't do it anymore as the stones become too "Stubborn" to listen to the viewers/prophet's guidance.

[X] The Law of Artistry (Grand Act)

Magic flows more easily with symbolism, sympathetic links, and meaning. Sigils, actions, songs, poetry, timing, structures, materials, thoughts, emotions, all this and more can empower the thaumaturgic works of anyone who invests in such expressive methods. Though this is no magic by itself, it is a great boon to the magics that do exist.
