@Dapperlad1 will there be some more factors in the fusion research like it still being an experimental technology and needing more funding and is Europe going to be gung-ho for fusion?
Europe is likely to be quite happy with fusion technology, it just needs to be aided in deployment. Non-state entities are struggling between collapsing previous energy monopolies for the new one and not doing so.@Dapperlad1 will there be some more factors in the fusion research like it still being an experimental technology and needing more funding and is Europe going to be gung-ho for fusion?
The EU would most likely rather you didn't deploy such a thing, as the civil unrest formed from not releasing immortality on a large scale would, uh, be massive. If it had to be released, it should be done as rapidly as possible in simulated opinions from their leaders, to avoid feelings of unfairness.A couple of questions for our Glorious QM. How would the EU feel about a delayed rollout of the uploading technology? IE, setting a timeframe of X years to upload all of humanity? (With an excuse of resources and shortages as cover.) and would it be potentially possible to set up massive geothermal plants on a cracked Mars with lava flowing over it?
A slow upload is typically the preferred method, using precise neurosurgery to replace brain matter in chunks. Quick uploads are copies, no continuity of consciousness is maintained.Instead of direct upload tech rollout, could the corps that have the upload tech roll out more and more advanced mind machine interfaces (for those who can afford it) that allow for more of their users mind to exist in the net, until the weaknesses of flesh can be discarded?
I agree but at least we have much less difficulty in containing the cults,In respect to the validity of Project Akashawami it is quite needed to hunt down and destroy pro-alien cultists in the name of stability of profit. Forming a combination of the 40k's Imperial Inquisition and Psycho Pass' Sybil System. It is quite needed in the fight against the alien. Besides we should always be much more careful of the enemy within. I don't trust the AI we built and I bet the feeling's mutual.
I mean outside of the arcologies the rest of the world is still not as cyberpunk especially this is also used to control the rural populations which we still have since we haven't done anything more for the corporate states to believe the cities are more worth it. So... the project is still needed especially with the paranoia that yes the world is much more blatant in not caring about your privacy.I agree but at least we have much less difficulty in containing the cults,
and humans live in a cyberpunk world now which means we have everything interconnected to the networks and being spied on 24 hours a day with AIs on top monitoring everything, it's very hard for a cult to develop so they have to run away from spying it means running away of technology since everything is interconnected, but without technologies they have very little influence to do anything, the only risk is if they manage to do a ritual and call for reinforcements but we don't know if that's possible, but even if they run away from technology it Should already make them on the suspect list right away, a cyberpunk world and one of the easiest worlds to keep your population under control
