[X] Attack the demon
-[X] Focus down the minions first
--[X] Leave the dogs to Oscar, focus on the Thieves
-[X] Time-slow the demon if it gets close to us or Oscar
-[X] Apply firebombs liberally
"In that case," you say, retrieving a firebomb from your pouch "we'll focus on the underlings first."
"And what, just let the demon do as he wishes?" Oscar asks with a shake of his head. "The demon we encountered on the wall proved size doesn't always mean slow for demons."
"It's fine, I'll just slow him down with my magic. Besides, it's just until we take out the little guys." You reply with a shrug. "Anyway…"
You step back around the bend and toss the firebomb at the archway. As the bomb flies through the air, you summon your claws and sprint after it, ready to slice up whoever survives the explosion.
The dogs are the first to notice you, raising their heads at your approach almost as soon as you throw the firebomb. They both stand and rush out through the archway before the firebomb lands, slobber dribbling from their mouths as they come.
The firebomb lands between the two thieves just as they turn to see what the dogs are getting worked up about. One manages to jump away from the flame that bursts out of the ceramic ball, but the other one that was injured in his fight with Oscar isn't nearly as fast. You can hear his gurgled screams as he flails about in an attempt to extinguish the burning oil that sticks to him like napalm.
The demon lets out a low growl at the sight and stands to his full height – easily three Kirikas high! He wraps his giant hands around the handles of his machetes and, with an angry grunt, pulls them both out of the ground. Now armed, he slowly begins to walk through the fire that's rapidly spreading across the grassy ground thanks to the oil. The flames leap up at his feet but he ignores it completely, his thick skin not even marked by burns.
As the demon approaches, you meet the dogs just before the little bridge. One leaps at you with its toothy jaws open while the other runs around to your right to get at you from the side. You cleave through the front half of the lunging dog with a horizontal swing of your claws and send it flying off the bridge. You hear a yelp from the second one as Oscar charges forward to chop off its front leg.
Your friend steps past you and plunges his sword down through the dog's skull as it attempts to crawl away.
"This is going pretty well." You say, grinning threateningly at the last thief as he takes a few steps back from the archway.
"We still have the demon to worry about." Oscar replies, pulling his sword out and readying himself.
The demon in question stops just before the archway and rolls his shoulders. You hear his breaths becoming more and more intense before he lets out a loud, furious roar and charges at you. He lunges forwards before reaching you and swings his massive machetes down at you with a powerful force.
You leap out of the way with no issue and Oscar manages to avoid the attack well enough, if barely. The demon doesn't give your friend time to recover, however, and swings at him as he's getting up from his roll. Oscar manages to duck under the fist machete and block the second with his shield, but you hear him grunt in pain and his shield gains a deep horizontal dent.
Seeing your friend being backed up against the wall of the street, you slash at the demon's back, causing it to grunt in pain. It turns on you, bringing its machetes around in a furious swing that cleaves big chunks of brick out of the wall behind you.
Having ducked under the attack, you leap out from beneath the demon and launch yourself up into the air. You focus your magic on him as you land on top of the stone wall the archway is built into.
A firebomb shatters against the demon's back in slow motion and you see Oscar standing a short ways down the street with another, his shield discarded. "Kirika, deal with the other hollow!" He shouts before throwing another firebomb.
This time it shatters against the demon's chest, as it's turned around to face him. It lets out a howl and charges Oscar, but is slowed somewhat by your magic. You hope it's slowed enough for Oscar to last as you turn your attention to the final hollow thief in the little grassy courtyard.
He looks up and the two of you stare at each other for a moment. The hollow moves first, reaching into a well-hidden pocket. You drop down on him before he can get the knife all the way out, bringing your claws down to cleave him apart. The hollow spots you in time and rolls to the side, resulting in you only catching and removing his left foot.
Wounded and unable to scramble to his feet (foot) with only one foot left, you grin down at him with a malicious grin. Slowly, you approach him as he tries to scramble back, but he hits a wall and has nowhere to go. Do you imagine the fear you see in his empty eye sockets? Perhaps the red glow that seems to replace his eyes can express fear, but it doesn't matter. The fear is gone the moment you remove his head, the red glow going out by the time his head's rolling on the ground.
A loud crash interrupts your chance at revelling in your superiority over the hollow. You look out through the archway to see Oscar just barely rolling under another swing from the demon. His armour doesn't have any nasty dents to suggest he's been hit, but he also doesn't look like he's doing well in the cramped street.
