Fractured Mind, Fractured Heart.
-[X]Yes: April 4th, 1941… That was the day the men came to me, to test on me. To kill me. And… remember that your parents sold you to them to save their own lives.
You remembered every detail like it was yesterday.
The door was kicked down and men in black came rushing in, their guns trained on you, and your brothers and sisters.
Father and Mother were… standing there by the door shouting, but not in protest. No, their shouts were of payment. Payment in gold. The bars of gold that were handed over into a briefcase was completely lost on you for a memory.
Now as you were older, you realized the significance.
Your brothers and baby sister were hauled out to a car with blacked-out windows, and you were dragged into the trunk. Their muffled screams were louder than the engine, the cars traveling on the road.
Then there was nothing. You could not remember that night, as you awoke in a ditch. A broken ditch with the corpses of your family in it, with dead Nazis and men in black being thrown into the river.
A Man with a Red Skull is prominent, swearing at how a man from a Concentration camp was always buying Jews when he should be taking them by force. How that man, Shaw was stealing perfectly good test subjects for his own experiments, and leaving him nothing but scraps.
He took you when you gaged at the blood.
You remembered the screams as the needles were injected into you. The fire in your blood, the Agony!
You did not know how they did the work, or what they put into you, but it was killing you.
You did not know if you were alive or dead… But you saw a woman caressing you, humming to you, telling you that it would be alright.
That it would end soon, and there would be no more pain.
You had not expected when they carried you out after you lost consciousness, that you were…
You didn't remember, but you woke up in the forest, and The Old Man found you. And gave you a place in his heart and home.
It was… Good.
The Pain was gone, and the memories of the evil faded, faded into the distance.
Of time, and life.
-[X]Peace and Hope: You look to your Father and felt his presence. You needed to speak. So you shall. Rolled:

You looked at the Old Man as he continued walking towards your home, quietly looking out into the distance. "Heinrich." he started as he looked at you, quietly feeling your nervous energy. He was trying to calm you down."It's going to be-"
The gunshot broke his speech as you saw a man in the distance., a pistol smoking from the barrel as the man shot again. A bullet hit The Old Man's leg. Then his thigh. Then his arm.
You tried to push him, to get in front of him, but the old General instead threw you down behind a door frame, and his shotgun was aimed and ready in less than a second.
"HAIL Hitler!" The man shouted, as The Old Man Blasted, a single shell ejecting as the old General blasted.
The shooter's head, well half of it exploded off instantly, and the man was killed instantly.
You ran over to The Old Man, and he coughed, slumping down against a wall, dropping his weapon as he looked to you. "It's okay… I just… Shit."
"Stop talking!" You ordered as you began to examine his wounds. "Good news, bullets either went through or grazed you, but you have one in your torso, near your lung."
"At least I can safely say that my wife can convince me to stop smoking." He joked.
"Stay awake." You ordered as he started drifting.
"Never stop having a heart of kindness." He said, before he passed it out, adrenaline finally wearing off.
-------------------------------------------------
You had saved his life. But it seems that not everything was fine and dandy.
He was going to be stuck in hospital for a time. And you feared that something was going to happen to him.
Reward: The Old Man has survived an Assassination Attempt, thanks to your help.
But it seems that not everyone is taking the demilitarization, or Denazification well.
Beginning next turn, there will be a disaster roll, with Nazis and other groups battling in the streets of Germany, sowing Chaos in the Republic.
How you choose to react, will be entirely left to you.
-[X]A Magnet of a Man: You looked at the man and his wife, and were happy for them. And then you saw the numbers on his arm, and hers. They could understand… maybe. Rolled:
D100 => 97
He had a sad smile on his face, this Eric. He seemed friendly enough when you first met him, in a coffee shop, Cafe Kranzler that was settling into a new routine of fresh supplies, and a place you found yourself going there to study and to find yourself deeper in your books.
But he and his wife were just a happy couple. A secretive one, happy to work in the city. But a secretive one.
Then you saw the numbers on his arm. The same numbers you had on your own. He had noticed too.
He was the one who started the conversation. "I wonder why you haven't left Germany?" He asked. "I wonder that myself, but my wife does not have the heart to rejoin her caravan and travel to Latveria to settle down."
You nodded. "I have a family." Your answer was rather short. But it was also not the entire truth.
"We all have a family. Some we still have left after all that's happened." He looked to his wife, who was chatting away with a few older women, trying to sell some homemade jewelry, getting laughs and happy replies from the women. "Some we can get back and hold onto with all our hearts." He replied before his tone turned sour. "You haven't answered my question."
You shook your head. "Opportunity."
That made Eric stifle a laugh, feeling completely amused by the prospect of there being anything bearing an opportunity for a Jew in Germany. "There is no opportunity for us here. Not until the Soviets finally finish pulling out."
"That's not what I meant." You replied. "I want to see if the people of Germany take this great opportunity that is in front of them." You took a sip of coffee. "An opportunity to redeem their nation. Their people, their very identity. It intrigues me. And it is my hope that it can."
"Why?" Eric asked, confounded by your hope.
"Because, if we can? Anyone can find redemption. If the German people, our people, you are as German as I… can find solace, peace, and hope, by shedding some of the things of our past, to learn from it… Perhaps anyone, any people, no matter how evil, can."
"Impossible," Eric replied. "It would take generations." He said. "And even then-"
You smiled. "Perhaps. But that's the great fun of it. Seeing it happen. Being proven wrong. I would like to be."
"What is your name?" Eric asked.
"Heinrich Oster." You stated.
Recognition came over Eric's face before he said. "Eric Lansherr." His wife than came over, some ration cards and Marks in her hand. "My wife, Magda." He replied.
"It is a pleasure to meet you." You stated.
"We should meet again sometimes," Magada stated. "You seem like a bright boy."
You blushed at the compliment. "Thank you."
Reward: Allies Met: Eric and Magda Lensherr.
