Age of Ice and Blood: A Pathfinder System Heroic Fantasy Quest

We continue on, make the bargain, and come to understand what our ship is. It's almost certainly too late to stop the war now. We could try and ensure that it ends with minimal bloodshed, but too much death has already occurred now to prevent a conflict of some sort with the trained bands now dead.

I would not have placed our odds of preventing the conflict as very high at all. We were still very, very new to this world then, almost completely ignorant of it and it's peoples, and could barely communicate with anyone. More likely than not, we would have been blamed for the massacre and attacked before the truth could be adequately explained, let alone accepted.

I don't think Roland would outright agree to this, if only because he respects Inge and has by this point learned that there is more to the supernatural than spells and shit that needs killing.

[X] Tentatively agree. We cannot make such commitments on Inge's behalf, certainly not when it comes to knowledge held sacred by those who worship Ikomi. He is welcome to return with us to the ship, bringing his tome along with us where we can help to guard it and him (this is a rough neighborhood...).
-[X] Once there, he can ask Inge himself if she is willing to assist him in exchange for his services. If she agrees, the transaction can be completed ASAP.

For anyone worried about the war, remember that if we had stayed here, there would be an Anwa-island under daemonic control with nobody wise to it right now.

Might be worth it to tell him all we know so we don't have to pay him, if he's as good as we want him to be he's probably going to realize that the ship has been touched by something outside of this world anyways.

I vaguelly remeber that even Herodotus distinguished cause and excuse of war (sorry, I do not know proper english terms). Cause usually lies in economy. Exuses (RL example - murder of Franz Ferdinand) may vary.

Something like that is still rather common, I believe.
I don't know the english terms either (the german terms would translate as causes and trigger I think), but it's still something learned in school here.

@Goldfish , and now I think: what if your variant will be too suspicious? What if Eriran think that we want to take away his valuable book?

We just offered him a bag of 500 gold, before we even knew the book existed. If he's so paranoid to think we mean to steal it, then we aren't likely going to be able to deal with him at all.

Wait so Inge's old mentor slaughtered his fellow priests and triggered a war? Or was Roland's fighting against the undead mistaken as a massacre of actual priests?
