[X] [UPGRADE] Custom Weapon: Start work with the Ordnance Department and Artillery Corps to develop a custom mecha weapon. Development will occur during the Intermission.
[X][VACATION] Mexico: An exotic locale, with strange people and interesting places around every corner. The perfect place to escape to if you're afraid of working off the books, and more importantly, a place where the natural enviroment will let you learn about mysteries of the past and future. (Chance of improving esoteric elements or feet)

[X] [UPGRADE] Improved Building: The workshops and garrages you own will get heavily overhauled, and in many cases rebuilt. Development will be automatic.

I still think the production turned out better than it would have with FCM :p.

While guns have always been a problem, IMO investing heavily before we get the comission will have a good chance of us building out the wrong gun for what we need, forcing us to build the mech around whatever we get, instead of trying to do a better job chosing a gun to fit the design metrics. I could be convinced to go for the walk cycles, but it seems like something we could probably work the kinks out during active prototyping

[X][VACATION] Marseille: The most French of places to enjoy a holiday, and far more importantly the most domestic. Plus, you might run into a few fellows working on mecha too, what with the talk of the Schnieder Trophy and the engineering discussion around it. (Chance of improving transmissions or cockpit)

When you got to the plants in Normandy, what you saw was horrifying. The entire time you'd been busting ass to fulfill the order, they'd been converting the plans over to operate on their American machine tooling. This meant conversions from first perspective to third perspective, and more importantly every measurement on every component had to be converted to imperial. Hundreds of parts, each with tens of measurements, all being converted- and in several cases, being redesigned entirely- in a madcap rush.
Note to future self: Whatever the Yanks offer us to work with them had better be enough to offset working with Imperial as well.

We're likely to start work on bigger mechs soon, so having better workshops and feet that can accommodate the increased mass will be very helpful.

Improving our workspace would be really nice. Magic feet time I guess.

Reminder I don't do approval voting. One person, one option.
Not happy about the potential of selling mecha to nationalist (facist) scum. Those connections might prove to be annoyingly handy pre-Operation Paperclip if things do not go well.

Dude. You're selling to Cataluñans. Not Carlistas.

Would an option for the weapon upgrade be getting armor piercing incendiary rounds in 13.2mm? As having a secondary weapon with a high RoF for leg crits and rocket destruction would be quite valuable.

Not really. Ammo isn't really a ballpark you can really affect; guns and mounting thereof is much easier for you to talk shop on.

Figure it makes more sense to do this first and then use the improved facilities to work on the new suspension system. Weapon designing feels like a trap - we have no idea what the next mecha is going to be expected to do, and the best weapon for a massive 8-legged artillery platform is very different than an anti-infantry focused 2 legger, or something for mech-on-mech combat.

The walk cycle control drum, for instance, had been having screaming fits
Hmm, with the info that Eldritch Development was a thing, how literal was this screaming? Did our French Baby Doom Chicken screeching out at this betrayal, or was the screaming simply the grinding of metal?

walk cycle control unit had been completely redesigned and replaced to run on a pendulum and oscillating drum unit instead of your original monodirectional drum and alternating cam unit design.
Also, how often did you guys think American variations will deviate from French Variations? How difficult will future repairs be during the War when mechanics pop open the Internal only to see American based systems over French?

[X] [UPGRADE] Test Mecha: Pump out between four and twelve testing mecha to determine the best way to operate the Christie Actuation System. It'll be a bit of a bitch, but it'll make sure you're not going to get blindsided by any sort of weird system knock-on effects. Mecha will be tested during the Intermission

Bah, delving into the eldritch? What heresy! We are Frenchmen, defenders of the Catholic faith. Such devil worshipping is for the Germans!

Vacation
[X][VACATION] Majorca: A pleasent international option, the slight air of intrigue in the local Catlan community will add a wonderful touch of spice to the trip. Plus, if you're sufficiently casual about it, you might be able to organize a few... we'll call them private sales. The company won't sneeze at the extra business, and you'll certainly learn. (Chance of extra sales or political connections)

A VOTE FOR MAJORCA IS A VOTE FOR THE SPANISH ANARCHISTS!
Which is great because history did them a dirty in the OTL. I want an Anarchist Spain to balance out the USSR.

We've got to establish that the eldritch malarkey at least exists, or else the audience will rage quit when the funny mustache man whips out a superweapon/causes a demonic invasion.

I love that these two were paired together. Heck, I might just vote for this just to have it be on our MCs autobiography.
I read it as "the esoteric element of feet"at first and could only agree with such a statement.

I had considered the American tag to be a downside because of political concerns, overseas transits delaying communications, and general cultural friction. How did I forget that metric is a strange beast to the Americans?
On the other hand I do think third angle projection is superior and more intuitive but the difference is minor.
