Even after the reboot, I'm still trapped in the wrong anime!

There's one such bunch near the entrance, facing a wall painted to look like a view of a lake, and seated on one end, is a trench coat and fedora clad person. You can't even make out any skin! Maybe they're wearing some kind of body stocking? Any way, you sit down facing the same wall as the person speaks in the most nondescript voice you've ever heard.

"A supermarket or big box store can get you almost everything you need. But if you're looking for something... more... I may know some people that can help." They never look at you, and continue to pretend to feed some fake ducks.
This guy is very sus.

I could go either way, but feeding the fake ducks is essential.

Everyone's got their talents...
You decide to try and play along.

Try.

You make some attempt at something like spy talk, only to come upon the idea your social skills may be stunted, and you end up making some inane comment about purple monkey dishwashers.

Argus (Perform) (Fate die): 4 = fail
Despite not being able to see the other person's face, you can tell that they are giving you a Look. Said Look is followed by a sigh and pity being taken upon you. They pull down the concealing mask, revealing a friendly, freckled face as she speaks again, "At least you made an effort. What can I get you today?"
Cassidy Horne (Perception + Empathy): 5,8,9,10 = 4 successes

A job?

She blinks, looks at the time, and seems to mull it over, "Well, I guess we've got some time before the after school rush... Let's go talk to the boss."

She takes you to a back office that has a desk and a large number of costumes, behind the desk is a tall balding man who looks up in confusion as you the the girl enter. "Cassidy?"

The now named Cassidy, gestures to you, "Mr. Holden, this guy's looking for a job. Figured I'd let you handle it." And with that she leaves.

Mr. Holden blinks, and then looks at you, "So, a job?"

Yep. You find money to be useful.

Holden snorts, "Don't we all. Well, I guess I could do with an extra pair of hands. Know how to cook? Or drive? Are you old enough to drive?"

Well...

I've had Flame Broiled pizzas before. Stone Oven Pizzas are also a hot commodity. Too bad he's not a swordsman. I mean, what's a kitchen knife but a really, really short sword? Transitive property, it applies everywhere.

Campfire cooking is better than nothing. We at least have the basic skills which we can improve on.

I will comment that cooking is generally a (Craft + Survival) roll, and while Argus doesn't have any Craft, Survival is at 3. Similarly Travel is also at 3. All the social ones: Deception, Influence, Perform are at 0, though you do have Empathy 1, so, there's that?

Looks like we'll have to grind out Craft until it's no longer 0.

Ouch. Argus is bad at this.

Ability to make pizza will make us popular! Maybe.

On second thought, we're fast and this is a good way to get to know the town. And run into people/random encounters. And we get to say "pizza time".

With some luck we can get some sneaking and movement skills for this infiltrator/spy gig.

[X] Bouncer. Every shop needs someone to throw out unruly customers and people who want to challenge the owner to duels for the hand of their daughter. Okay, the last part only happened once in your hometown, but it pays to be prepared for everything.
