Age of Ice and Blood: A Pathfinder System Heroic Fantasy Quest

@DragonParadox, since Inge already knows Obscuring Mist, which she would normally be learning at 2nd level due to her Storm Patron, can she learn a different spell in its place? That's the only way she can actually learn a healing spell with this level up, since she already knows Stabilize.

This will let her do really solid healing right away. She can use her Healing Hex on Silver, then follow it up with a CLW. 2d8+4 Healing should either restore him fully or get him close to it. Then a Healing Hex for Roland and the other men who might have been injured.

EDIT: Oops, no CLW this level. Silver and Roland will have to make do with just a Healing Hex today for magic healing.

[X] Inge Level Up
-[X] Class: +1 Witch
-[X] Skills (6 points): +1 Knowledge (Arcana), +1 Knowledge (Nature), +1 Spellcraft, +1 Survival, +2 Heal
-[X] Hex
--[X] Healing
-[X] Spells:
--[X] Cantrip: Mending
--[X] 1st Level:
Touch of the Sea(B)

I'm serious, I want Roland to have an underlying tone of anger in his next convo with Ukuhamba and Irieje, because screw them. Unless it puts our lives in considerable danger I'm all for that.

Sea witch replaces her patron spells. she gets touch of the sea at this level.
Ah, I see that now. Okay, no new 1st level spell at this time, and since she already knows Stabilize, the required healing magic will have to be the Healing Hex, which I was going to push for anyway. Editing my plan now.

TBH, if this were a game this would propably be the point were I reload to try if I can't kill the Fey instead.
But it aint and a fight won that shouldn't have been fought is still better than one lost and quest over.

On the bright side, we now have a Fey we know needs killing. Not now, of course, and maybe not any time soon, but it's days are numbered.

he raises a had in feeble defense
"hand"?

Not only your. I really feel bad for this bard.

All is well that ends well.
We do not know what happened with Nico and especially Tam.

I am not sure about killing, but some kind of retaliation will be handy. Not now, but certanly in the future.

Yeah looks like we got fucked with by the Fey, as per usual. I mean it's entirely possible these guys really did do what the Fey said and were just nicer to us, the foreigner, than they would have been to some of the locals, but I don't think that's the case.

>Stumbling forward you come to Silver and Inge, tears cloud your eyes. There is no way, there is no way he can walk after this.

Silver :(

I am half convinced the mage was trying to charm Roland, but who knows. Either way glad we got healing spell now and even mending to help with minor repairs.

The mage actually did charm him (charm person specifically), it does not say more about him than that he was rather desperate there at the end, what with being on death's door and sleep not working.

Then why did you chose to fight?
Because it was the IC thing to do with what information we had and the obligation we had taken upon ourselves by swearing the oath in order to save Jean's life. We were almost certainly manipulated into the end by the well dwelling Fey, from start to finish. To avoid it would have been to avoid making the attempt to save our loyal armsman, and that's not what Roland would have done at this point in time.

Once the fight started, we had to carry forward with whatever momentum we had, since even one failed saving throw against a Charm Person or Sleep spell could have doomed us.

Things will change in the coming weeks and months as Roland and the rest of our crew become more savvy to the ways of this new world and find their footing, but for now we're ignorant and stuck reacting rather than acting.

Good enough for me to bury the guilt! :p

Here is hoping we can be more diplomatic later and thread agrees.

Huh now that I read all of it I never imagined what a Christian isekai (There was one but it stuck too much to canon) would look like in a fantasy world. Thanks for giving me a better idea.

Funny that you should call it that. the people who got transported were for their age and place not the most pious. I mean you have the doctor who does not believe in miracles, the scoundrel who is more concerned with gold than the state of his soul and you have the burned out crusader.

BTW, what do you mean by 'stuck too close to canon'?

I was thinking about a Rezero fanfic where a crusader living in Jerusalem during the third crusade got subbed in over Subaru and followed a lot of the canon with his own mentality.

Since you're going for an original setting you have all the flexibility to do what you want for the story.

How pious they are wouldn't matter as much as long as they bring their beliefs with them to how do I put it? Explore and question themselves?

Even if it was with some fresh optimistic holy warriors back when crusades were more frequent with it's own issues when they get sent to another alien plane of existence they bring everything they believe with them.

So it's a good theme to see like wanting a crusader in ancient China because it's an interesting anachronism.

So I just realized something about healing hex that would break the setting. It has no limit on how many creatures may benefit from it per day. Now that does not mean much to you guys, but if you had say an army with 500 wounded a single apprentice witch could fix them all right up (this is P6 so a CLW would put most people on their feet). That is obviously not going to fly, so I was thinking of imposing a use limit per day. Something like 25 uses per level for any hex that is unlimited in the base game. Does that sound fair.

Anyway a lot of that is just watching a lot of Japanese isekai and thinking why so and so is missing.

One of them is a crusader or some ancient holy warrior sent to some other fantasy setting and having adventures rather than seeing modern people with modern values sent to another world having adventures the anime way.

There's nothing wrong with the latter but when you see so much of the former especially a certain bunch like NEETs, school kids among other things you'd want to see some other backgrounds than just more isekai vanilla plots in some lackluster fantasy setting.
