Vast underground mushroom farms, proof against winter and difficult to siege. Dawi become farming kingpens and clans names go from precious gems to clan shiitake mushrooms beardI do wonder, after seeing and experiencing the winter in the North, will we have the option to help expand and improve the agricultural of the land? Like helping building new and improved field or even mushroom cavern and/or underground field or room? I mean the greybeard could grumble all they want but even them have to admit the dwarf like stubbornness that the human have to have to survive and prosper in this place...what do you think? Even the sending of expert will massively help improve the North 🤔
If the Dark Elves have not attacked Aegon's kingdoms as well, I predict a low chance of success for such a plan.
There are some things I'm worried about:
1) wildfire. Even without dragons, Aegon can do serious damage to our static defences if he risked bringing some along.
To counter this, don't pack the outer forts to their maximum, let him play his hand against replaceable assets. Through secret tunnels and the like, the garrison should be able to evacuate once the walls are breached.
2) Dark elves. Their ability to inflame a situation to cause proxy wars is legendary.
Alerting the king to their existence and having our rangers guard the coast is probably the best we can do for this.
3) Winter.
It was a long one and did a number on our allies. Once we have some time, helping them set up their own underground mushroom farms, especially with geothermal heat under winter fell is a priority.
