[X] Nilfellian Special Expeditionary Legion

Clearly it's a punitive Expedition to punish them for chipping the Walls of Myth. Destroying all their armaments for that is totally fair, show them what it means to attack Nilfel.

People voting for boring option that has benefits, instead of the meme one. :???: Once we fought like animals for a spilled soup, now people get the boring option and leave. AST has changed :(

[ ] Nilfellian Special Expeditionary Legion
[X] Adorie's Bodyguards

They both get us a solid reason for the -.5 enemy Rank, which makes them viable. Bodyguard is also fun while expeditionary legion is its own kind of cool.

I'm happy to do both, for now I'll vote for Gisena +.

[X] Elixir Royal Privateer Commission

Hunger deserves his fun, and we deserve to be a cool pirate. It's also the Arete option, which means it's automatically the best anyway.

So, what are people's actual plans for conquering the Human Sphere? Conquest in the name of Elixir and Nilfel? Usurpation of the imperial throne? Something else?

Soon, I Will Be Invincible

...but it might be dicey until I am.

Jade: Red
Platinum: the Plate, Step Up
Copper: the Ticket (Amplitude)
Curse Broker: the Madman, the Banes (Common)

The plan is as simple as it is risky. The Metaphysical Domain of Amplitude multiplies the scalar power of supernatural abilities by the base power's level of magnitude. Mastery over Amplitude scales with intelligence, which Step Up progressively improves. Emperor Red's foremost facet is the ability to compound its wielder's essence and to drain essence from others with a touch, both of which provide holistic improvements to attributes and especially the powers of the spirit and of sorcery. Step Up also provides general spatial manipulation at sufficient levels of advancement, making touch attacks significantly more feasible.

Considering all of this, at first the Invincible's time would be heavily focused on advancing their essence compounding. They'd be relying on the combination of kinetic diminishment and the Plate to keep themselves safe in those first few risky weeks and obtaining resources from villagers in exchange for protection during the Rising. So long as they avoid the attentions of any moderately powerful Shadow Beast or greater opponents, they should be more or less alright.

Once they've drained a few hordes of Risen, they should be safe enough to continue with more aggressive draining actions, practicing Amplitude in their downtime until they've unlocked the Metaphysical Domain, though this might require years of effort and persistence. Thankfully, that should become significantly easier with the Red's willpower bonuses, even if they've got to take time off to indulge their ambitions by seeking out and consuming particularly potent enemies or working to obtain whatever magics they find.

After that, it's absolutely off to the races. They just need to find somewhere to relax and begin compounding essence. With a ten to hundredfold multiplier to their speed in a system with an exponential progression that increases that multiplier, they've become an unstoppable engine of ascension. If the they gets restless, they can feel free to take a walk around the Risen lands with their spatial manipulation, diminishing all hostile magics and draining any noticeable enemies to dust in milliseconds.

With the Plate, they'll have some more time with which to continue compounding, until eventually they can make use of their mastery over space and essence to derive the location of the Doctor's world and engage in an epic duel to the death against him. I'm sure the Invincible won't even consider simply empowering Skyveil until she can kill him herself, that's not a death worthy of such a great figure. And they'd have to make sure to kill Krista too, even if the option claims she's not a threat, they'd be a fool to underestimate the adjutant of Apocalypse.

Might the Miasma be safer, though? Such a crippling weakness as the Banes against the Doctor would raise your necessary threshold greatly...

I considered that but I figured that either you (and/or Skyveil) ambush him in a way that prevents him from identifying or taking advantage of your Bane or he escapes and you get dunked on. Meanwhile, Miasma makes it a bit harder to negotiate with villagers and whatnot in the early game, which could make it harder to meet your basic needs, which is pretty rough when you've already frontloaded a lot of the risk.

That said, I suppose he could throw stuff with macroscale telekinesis until he could find something that sticks... or maybe even just build devices mid combat.

Damn it. Despite knowing better, I still managed to underestimate Doctor Apocalypse.

Its a sad life when the meme options helps the purple bitch. But sacrifices have to be made.
Also my vote is for sale, no markers or such shitty practices introduced by anarcho capitalist canines. Just vote to fix our sword next Pillar week.
Vote for Nilfellian Special Expeditionary Legion alongside something else if you want to, I will promise to vote for sword fixing in exchange :V

I'll bite for a [] Adorie's Bodyguards vote if you're fine with my vote =)

So, the Republic has been compared by Rihaku to the Roman Republic and its power is held back by inefficient management and politics...sounds like Apo-chan could easily make it really dangerous by putting a Caesar-equivalent in it and letting him seize control.

[X] Human Sphere Armament Trading Company

I like capitalism, even more than I like piracy and confusing my enemies.

[X] Human Sphere Armament Trading Company

Originally I was going to vote for Bodyguards, but in typing up my argument for it I managed to convince myself away from it. Bodyguard's sows confusion but that might make dealing with either faction peacefully difficult as it treats both as enemies and makes it harder for them to know what we're doing.

This though, sure the mechanical benefits are probably the worst of the choices. But there's so much room to maneuver when you keep things economic. Maybe like a corporation the Company will take human form and join the party! Allows us to deal with both sides and even keeps the option to distance ourselves from the group a possibility.
