She's not loyal enough to truly benefit from Vanguard, and it can't be applied to Versch yet.
To this I have two things to say, the first being that it would be a good boon to all of our other companions and I wouldn't put it past LP to strike at another one of them while we're tied up once he realizes how incredibly effective that tactic is at forcing Hunger's hand in certain ways as opposed to direct martial contests.

The second is that I wouldn't be too sure about her not getting that much benefit. Rescue and jumping into the trap with her is probably a bad idea, but bringing Adorie at all means that she'll be at +6 relationship. If we're stronger than a legion, even being half as durable as that would buy a lot of time via focus fire survival.

Of course Vanguard's value spikes if we summon, allowing us to reach +8 with her. According to the character sheet Liz is only at +9 herself and we give her headpats.

Cutting Through is once again tempting but I don't want Microwave to ascend into Super Saiyan Salt and I would be pretty sad to lose Versch.

My dude will go ahead and put a kibosh on the imperialism for a hot minute (idk, 5-10 years) but can otherwise retain control of Nilfel (honestly, even 1 year is fine but that would be pretty sus). After that period is up, we can go ahead and chat about how we're going to move going forward, whereupon Hunger will use his overwhelming, unimaginable power to force him into good behavior. If he didn't follow the compact or excessively oppressed his people, we murder him and Adorie gets to be back in charge.

It's the privilege of a Progressor to procrastinate on anything but his own personal advancement. Why not take advantage of that?

He may not realize that if Hunger simply attempts Crushing him! There's something to be said for taking refuge in audacity.

Tbf, Letrz's relationship +pluses are... Well, that advancement they unlock is literally best purchased as late as possible.
While some of them are best obtained later, a lot of the benefits honestly aren't. Ability to ignore missing a lung, immunity to poisons, capability to manifest an Armament Shroud without being Rank 9 are all things that are going to be less valuable to Hunger soon even if they still give benefits.

I can understand the impulse to prioritize rescuing Versch, but to confront a wizard's obvious trap on prepared ground... does even Hunger have strength overwhelming enough to attempt so reckless a course while the Apocryphal Curse has not recently triggered? And Claumngor's full strength is still unknown as well...

The intelligence to recognize a trap, the wisdom to know that pursuing it could be a bad idea, and yet the recklessness still to venture forth anyway... directly attempting to rescue Versch would surely be playing into the LP's moment of maximum leverage, and though Hunger is considerably stronger than both LP and his attendant Legions, this would be one of the only ways the LP might manage to neutralize that difference in strength! Versch's life is important, but what about your own? You have seen what comes of underestimating the LP in the past.
isn't the Blue Swordsman a recent Apocryphal trigger?

To be fair this is more relationship points than negotiating, I think all this goes well together.

Saves Versch and does so without charging into an obvious trap.

Damn, I want Crush Them for both Cut Through memes and a proper fight scene against an army - would love to read how Pressure works on multiple people and see how superhuman Hunger has become with OaF.

It's hard to justify with the lack of benefits though. It's less risky sure but puts that risk on Versch while butchering millions, the latter of which I'm fine with but the former... not if we can help it.

I'd like to go for Rescue Versch but it is rather risky and doesn't benefit much from Taking Adorie, whose extension of Praxis effects could prove invaluable in a fight against the Lord Protector. Oblique Means gives more preparation time for our for, an extremely dangerous prospect given his demonstrated feats, but also allows Hunger to leverage his own powers.

It seems to be a more cohesive combination now some I'm voting for it. If we can swing to Not Taking Adorie, maybe we can consider Rescue which is great since if we succeed, Hunger can cut completely loose and just stomp in LP's shit but as is...

The proc was giving him a buff two weeks ago, which isn't recent, relatively speaking.

The concern with giving the LP more time is that he threatens the lives of our companions. Undying Vanguard resolves most of that, and summoning an Astral Entity would be really useful given our increased Luck, Wisdom, and Int from ADS. Ideally, we should look to summon something weaker than us (so Holy Shit applies) but armed with esoteric capabilities to rescue Versch or weaken LP.

If he threatens to kill Versh we just threaten to kill him, and I think he values his own life much more than hurting some random heroes/mercenaries. From there, we can use the power of double princesses and the fact that we have a better position in the negotiations to get favourable terms.

Consolidating against Rescue

Hm.... you guys chose options that would unlock Sword in the Stone and Once and Future II. Do you really want to be spending on Undying Vanguard right now?
