Skyviel is also something which brings lateral Increase in capabilities! Stealth and Disguise can both be used to great effect in the Human Sphere and beyond!
Since we've invested so heavily in Surgecrafters, we're likely to retain access to Aeira through the medium term. Why not delegate such matters? They're not Hunger's comparative advantage, he's always going to have other things to do. Graces to craft (still haven't made any), Rank to train, Praxis techniques to acquire, etc. We declined King of Thieves and Shadowlord, so this just builds on a preexisting trend, the character we've established doesn't prioritize acquiring such capabilities. More efficient to leave them to others.

Also, doesn't anyone want enemy dossiers to list interactions with 'Lord Hunger' as a high-tier memetic hazard?!

Another thing to consider: the ability to disguise the Evening Sky, your most prominent artifact when the Ring isn't flaring, may be crucial to further disguises!

[X] Sky Veil [7 Arete]
[X] Without Form

I think long term Sky Veil is the better strategy. When we have to go into a new world, the ability to stay under the radar and scout before acting is key. With super high charisma it's going to be impossible to do that I would think. Also we have the ability to know if people like us without our godlike charisma, something invaluable for getting true allies. Trust me, I wish I had this ability for the same reason.

HUNGER: You just like me for my charisma!
THE PEOPLE: Well, yes...

Skyveil does have the benefit of allowing Hunger to cackle "this is a mere fraction of my true glory" and unleash his mindbreaking charisma on an enemy! You can't just wave that around from the start, how uncool. Well, everyone will think it's cool by definition, but all the higher beings (and readers) will know how lame you are.

HUNGER: You just like me for my charisma!
Hunger: Oh, no. I am so charismatic people follow me everywhere. I inspire loyalty with a single glance, and people will gladly die in my name. I am so powerful people bow before my might, villainess turn into drooling mess when they see me. The most powerful being in existence entrusted me with part of his power. Women throw themselves at me and teenagers adore me and want to adopt me. I am so savage I get request from wolves that want me to raise them into my pack. #Humblebrag

More like #hungerbrag, am I right?

The eyepatch is fairly distinctive too, at least in the art! 'But that's not an artifact,' you say? Not yet.

Anyway, disguising the Evening Sky as a different time of day would be appealing if we were Fairbrighting it up, but the Traditionalists lost so it's not aesthetically consistent with his other capabilities. I mean, Hunger's brief dalliance with infiltration consisted of him walking up to the Inner Perimeter. Age and treachery he has in spades, but stealth? Not so much.

I think my brain is fizzling. Why is Rihaku warning us about the dangers of Charisma all of a sudden, right when we're about to thrust ourselves into a succession of deadly scenarios? Do we need to worry about the Princess falling in love with us? Do we need to worry about the Tyrant falling in love with us? Or will be simply accidentally another kingdom?

So confused. I do know I've wanted Honing for a while. Mm, more Treachery.

I also don't think leaving the living WMDs unattended is a good idea. Not sure turning them into Agents of the Throne is a good idea, but then again we'll only do that to the ones wanting to use their powers against other people. Yay for the compromise option(s)?

Gisena is good at long-term planning, you see. She realized that, while she was dominating the original bantz, her rival had the power of Progression and would eventually outscale her. This is Hunger tripping across the mine she artificed; as with jewelry, so with Cha. Love her and despair.

Alright, I know it's not been 24 hours but after a little bit of introspection I've found that I still have a baseline preference for Without Form. I am entirely open to direct argumentation still, but so far it seems like a lot of the arguments have been focused on the build vote, unless I've missed a bunch of them.

Because it seems to be the only way he can really argue against honing at this point in time, and he thinks we would be scared of Hunger accidentally'ing a kingdom. Again.

One can imagine the instability of a society populated by such mages.
*Somewhat risky, but social pressure and incentives can do most of the work of a policy, so long as the culture supports it.
If Surgecrafting has a destabilizing influence on society, relying on cultural power to support the stability of the practitioners is indeed "somewhat risky." Better to have a more formal foundation, I think.

Man, I was really gung-ho about Without Form at first, and it's the way to get the Legendary Super Surgecrafter, but my enthusiasm for it continues to cool.

Rereading Opalescent Sky's blurb, it doesn't actually specify the Tyrant's gender...

I've been assuming male b/c locking up women is something men have been doing since the beginning of time, but yeah, maybe Rihaku wants another go at earning that deconstruction tag. Female Tyrant could be gay or asexual, or the princess-locking up could be political in nature, or the Tyrant could be non-human. If they are a Cursebearer and this is the Lunacy doom then it's worth pointing out that despite the Yandere jokes the Doom of Lunacy says nothing about sex, just obsession.
