Loki Odinson, trickster god, brother of Thor the Mighty, would-be ruler of the Midgardian realm lets out another pained moan, his broken body mending slowly as he pushed himself off the ground up the dual stair raised platform, mind a mess from both the torment suffered from the green brute's thrashing of the god against the floor repeatedly, and the fleeting power of the stone leaving his scrambled head. His body protested his movement as he settled onto the stair, stopping momentarily, breath caught as he realized who had just arrived at the scene. Twisting first his head, and the rest of his body, Loki came face to face with an arrow notched in the bow of Midgard's self-proclaimed heroes. To the left of the expert marksman were Loki's own Brother, Thor Odinson, his fabled hammer, Mjolnir, in his hand. Further left was agent Romanov, or Black Widow, in her hand was his mighty scepter, one of the keys to his plans and the fact she possessed it, that they were all here rather than out there trying to close the portals, and the few chitauri he managed to hear more than see falling through the skies meant they had closed his hole in the sky. They were not alone, as to the right were the rest of their little ragtag group, an American boy scout, Steve Rogers, a.k.a Captain America, the man of iron who he had thrown out of his own building, Tony Stark, or rather Iron Man, and of course staring angrily the force of fury and pinnacle of strength, there lied the hulking frame of the Green Beast of Mayhem, the Hulk aka Bruce Banner.
Right, no easy way out of this now. Loki had been in plenty of situations and could recognize when he was beaten. Eyes still centered on the green menace, Loki pushed himself a bit more to face the group properly.
"If it's all the same to you...hah.. I'll have that drink now" Loki belayed, the momentary paused caused more from the bruised and battered shape of his body than any form of resignation or sadness.
The brute let out a huff of rage that had him flinch, and he wasn't the only one, but for the most part, his one-liner worked to ease the current tensions, if only partially. The suited technological marvel was the first to break off, others following suit as they separated to deal with the aftermath of the invasion. A grouping of men dressed in black came to claim his scepter, and Loki shakily took in his environment, mind still a hazy mess. As the boy scout moved downwards Loki took his chance to do a little belittling, never one to miss a chance. As the Captain left and Loki let his magic disappear, he turned to address Thor about his new compatriots.
"I mean, honestly, how do you ke-" And Loki was promptly quieted by Thor attaching a facial mask that served to silence the trickster's silver tongue. Okay, perhaps he wasn't out the woodwork yet...
Unfortunately, Loki had little ability to do anything else, and without much fanfare was being escorted to a field in which Thor would no doubt take him before Odin, where judgment would be cast upon him. A stop by a bunch of dressed up mortals had been the most amusing part of the entire experience, once they had scrambled back from the Hulk's outburst as he burst through the stairway door. It would be a lie to say he hadn't flinched a bit himself, still seeing the lessers who had acted so high and mighty being scrambling away brought a bit of amusement to his situation. On the way to the field, the Tesseract was changed from the metal suitcase to a proper holding chamber, something Thor had brought along to handle the powerful artifact. Thor gave his heartfelt apologies and goodbyes, the self-righteous buffoon going on and on. At last, it ended, Thor stopping before Loki, his face always telling what emotions he was feeling as if they were written on it. Currently a mixture of regret, remorse, and guilt. It left a foul taste in Loki's mouth when he realized it, and he knew it wouldn't be the final time he'd see such an expression. With a twist of the handle of the container of the Tesseract they were off, disappearing from Midgard in a sprinkle of blue and arriving at the entrance to Asgard.
Their home stood tall, as magnificent a sight as always. Thor and Loki trekked down the halls they had walked down since childhood, where once they would boast and playfully banter, berate or congratulate each other, now they walked quickly and somberly, the silence between the two deafening. All too soon would their trip down memory lane come to an end. Before them was the Throne Room, and pushing the door open showed Odin Borson seated upon it with his eye fixed onto Loki. Once more a series of guilt, regret, remorse, and so on. Loki did try and meet his eye with his own pair, but he would be the first to break eye contact, both unwilling and unable to deal with staring the All-Father in the face after his treachery. Instead, he took in his other surroundings, hoping that he could play off his failure in the stare down to him simply not caring. It was during his glances he finally noticed Frigga, her form by Odin's side as always, his and Thor- no... Thor's mother. She wanted to walk down and greet them both when the door's open, that much was clear, and yet she held herself back, choosing to distance herself because she knew what was to come most likely. Still, if Thor and Odin's gaze had bothered Loki, then it was hers that had truly caused him strife. Yet Loki knew why he was here, and what needed to be done. Though it may be true he was not working under his own complete control, he was far from innocent. Faking his death, the first attack on Midgard... and of course, it was he himself who had initiated contact with Thanos, not the other way around.
Yes, the infinity stones were a tempting prize that he could not resist, and Thanos was as convincing as he was powerful. Or perhaps that was the work of the stone? Nevertheless, the crimes committed may have been egged on by the stone and Thanos' influence, but his actions were done without much resistance and if he admitted, he had been hoping to rule Midgard after he returned the Tesseract and Mind Stone to Thanos. Oh, who was he kidding, once he had conquered Midgard he was going to betray the Titan and keep the stones, if not for the influence of the Mind Stone persuading him otherwise. Still what was done was done, he could have no regrets, only hopes to spin this to his favor.
Odin finally stopped his staring at Loki, eyes flickering to Thor and nodding his head. Thor moved with purpose towards Loki hands going to undo the latch that bound his mouth. Finally, he was tired of the contraption the minute it had sealed his mou-
"Aagh, son of a...."
It seemed Thor was still angry as rather than properly release the facial bindings, he had opted to forcibly remove it with his strength, resulting in a feeling not too distant from waxing. If the wax was hard, metallic, and bound to more than one's upper lip that is. Still, it would do him no favors to insult Frigga, nor did he wish to. Instead he elected to turn to face his brutish brother, a thousand remarks and insults forming on the tip of his tongue, ready to berate the idiot.
"Loki."
With but a word Odin stopped his berating of Thor before it had even begun. Always able to command anyone's attention, always the last to give it to any but Thor. With a snarl Loki grimaced at Thor's face, his brother an empty slate, hiding any hint of emotion now, before Loki's own face conformed to one of professionalism. He turned to face Odin fully, eyes stopping on Frigga for a moment before fully settling on the wizened ruler.
"All-Father."
"I had hoped that you had survived my son. That you by some miracle clung to life where we last saw you. Now I wish you had perished so as not to turn to the sorry state you are now. Loki Laufeyson, you have committed crimes against Asgard and her people, what say you in your defense?"
Laufeyson? Once more Loki held back the grimace. What a polite manner for Odin to disown him. This is where everything he'd done had culminated to. Bound and disowned, dishonored in front of Odin himself, a no army, no Tesseract, not even his trademark daggers could be conjured. All that was left were his wits and his words. Loki... could not truthfully say he'd talked himself out of worse situations. But he'd always had to rely on his brains and tongue where brute strength had carried his brother, and this would be no different. Now if only he knew what move would be best to make.
[] Tell Odin that it was the Mind Stone's fault, that the power had controlled him like it did the others, and that it was the Mad Titan, Thanos who was to blame.
[] Try and beg for freedom by promising to give any and all information he had on Thanos, the stones, and anything else Odin wanted in exchange for his freedom.
[] Claim Odin couldn't lock him up, he was too useful, too resourceful a tool for him to punish. Would he truly persecute his own family as if putting down a rabid dog, especially one who had served Asgard and held as much potential as he?
[] Argue that because Odin disowned him through his choice of words that Loki was thus free of his crimes. It was Loki Odinson who had done what occurred on Midgard, and if he was Loki Laufeyson he was a free god.
[] State that all Loki did, he did for the benefit of the realms. It's always been about aiding the realms as he saw best, and if he himself also benefited, was that so wrong?
[] Ask that he be pardoned for his sins as he had been the one to slay Laufey, one of Asgard's greatest foes.
[] Plea to Frigga, Odin would be too stubborn but if he reached to her, he knew that she could persuade Odin to spare him, if not at least punish him lightly. She cared for Loki and Odin for her, perhaps he could rely on that?
[] Turn to Thor for aid. He was his brother, would he truly leave him when he needed him most? Surely he knew, he must have known that Loki never wanted to anything wrong in his acts.
[] Rush the throne, even bound as you are Odin was old and frail. If he could beat and kill him then perhaps Mjolnir's enchantments would cease and it would lose its magic properties. From there Loki could improvise.
[] Submit and take any punishments Odin saw fit to dish out. There was no hope for escape and no fight left in Loki
